I'm poised to order a GCLoader PnP tomorrow (September 10th 2020) when they come back in stock to mod a GameCube I have laying around to give to my brother for Xmas (since I know they're hard to come by as they keep selling out). He won't know what's gonna hit him. He used to play Smash Bros Melee a lot when he was younger and he'd struggle with our GCN console being stupid with reading the game disc, so I think this'd make a great gift, even if he doesn't use it too often. This'll be the first time ever doing a hardware-based console mod, and I'm glad it's not hard to achieve. I also ordered an SD2SP2 adapter as well as the Laser Bear Industries GCLoader mount to make things that much more seemless! My one and only criticism was the fact that your filming room was dark AF, though I got the idea of what to do nonetheless. Thanks for this video!
Yeah, when they drop they go fast! I'm sure your brother will be psyched on the gift though. I appreciate the feedback, and I'm working on getting a lighter table to work on, either a lighter grey or white for things such as this.
I recently got the GC Loader and it worked just fine except that it kept telling me that there's a GC Loader update available. Once I did that, then I was able to enjoy GC Loader. One thing I do like is that you don't need to use a game save exploit which you have to run every time you want to boot Swiss
Sorry I"m confused, why does the US link (black-dog.tech_com) show the one that needs a ribbon-cable (needs soldering), but the UK link(gc-loader_com) points to the EXACT one you have that is just plug-n-play? Does this mean I have to try and buy the UK version to get the non solder type? Please help me understand, thank you.
I am getting an error message when i try to boot up a game it first says "No writable Device Available. An SD Card adapter is necessary in order for patches to survive application restart." then it says "Failed to setup the file (too fragmented?)" What do I do? I followed all of the steps.
JamesBMoore007 You can still use the SD2SP2 with this. I would actually suggest it, since it would give you the ability to save settings and use cheats. No NES emulation that I am aware of however.
For cosmetic reason Im thinking of buying the japanese orange gamecube. For region look for japanese version. But usa backups should be okay? Thank you.
@@digitaldev so I am settling mine up now and my shield only has 2 of 3 of the screw holes. I know my gamecube is a DOL 101 am I screwed? hahaha get it screwed..

just in case people are following your settings "480p" was said but 240p was selected. 480p is correct selection as stated.
Good catch! I'll try and caption that part.

Awesome video mate. One of the best I've found, all others weren't nearly as clear. Keep up the good work!
I'm going to buy a gc loader pnp on friday, thanks for the help video! Gonna use this as a guide.

I got mine from the US store a while ago. My best advice would be to keep up with @citrus3000psi on Twitter.

any way to use NES emulators? Can i still use an SD2SP2 with a GCloader?

@@digitaldev thank you bummer with the emu... wanted to play n64 dr mario or the NES lol oh well
You can use NES emulation with your SD2SP2 and GC Loader.
I have the loader only and is there a way to play N64 Roms on it?
I use the SD2SP2 for my emulators on the Gamecube but I will tell you that N64 games run poorly on this console.

If I remember correctly, you should be okay since the JP and USA hardware is the exact same.
What size sd card can hold the entirety of the gc library
Gamecube library is about 900GB I believe, so a 1TB should do it.
@@digitaldev i might just get a 256gb considering i won't include a bunch of games
@@juntartful that’s what I have, I don’t need the whole library haha
@@digitaldev so I am settling mine up now and my shield only has 2 of 3 of the screw holes. I know my gamecube is a DOL 101 am I screwed? hahaha get it screwed..
@@juntartful I think as long as you aren’t moving your Gamecube around a lot, you should be fine
You don’t have to rip out the controller I/o and fan to do this install. Unnecessary steps
been trying to get one of these for months in the uk there like gold dust still out of stock
And when they go up they go quick! I had Twitter notifications and alarms ready to go
how u download game , any link ?
Backups!
Do you know of someone that sells the SD card already set up? Without the games of course...
Unfortunately none that I'm aware of
Just don't upgrade to 2.0 on the firmware. It can block your GC Loader...
