Thanks for making this video! I was able to get some sick logos with glitch effects by taking what was generated from the logo maker over to photomosh. Was able to add some cool effects and then export out an image that is still the right resolution for cubeboot. Did have to convert it back to png but well worth it.
Can't get Cubeboot to boot. I tried the SD Card method and all i get is a black screen with some cut-off text, i tried enabling fallback and had no luck, i tried flashing the uf2 file to the Picoboot with the ini file only on the root, and the same problem, black screen with cut off text. I reverted back to the standard Picoboot setup i had before and i'm able to boot into Swiss but without the boot animation. A shame really, i wanted this Cubeboot firmware to work.
Is it possible to add internet connectivity for games with the picoboot? I know it dosent exist now but if that’s a possibility it would be amazing to use it as a broadband adapter.
Just recently a broadband emulator was released by a guy working with the developer of swiss. It doesn't work with physical disks, but people have gotten Phantasy star online to play with new servers, and even doubledash. It looks really promising
Didn't work for me and screwed up swiss loading for me. It just boots normal now and doesn't boot swiss at all or the actual gamecube menu. Just gives an error for no program found
with a GC2SD adapter it only works on port A, port B gives errors for some reason. Port A is a bad options due to some games only allowing to save on port A
@@Skullking3o5 yup! It’s basically like you’re using a disc to boot Swiss. You can hold Z for the fun sounds or hold A for the system menu just like an unmodded ‘Cube
@@Skullking3o5 but to be clear, it’s not every version of Swiss. And I’m not sure if it works with Pico boot. This is the video I mentioned above and it should tell you all you need. Hi modzville can I do all this to my GameCube I have a regular xeno modchipped GameCube it doesn’t have picoboot or gcloader can I just do all this with a regular xeno modchipped GameCube with Swiss disc?
So I did everything you did in the video, it’s sort of working. I get the GC boot to happen but it’s just the stock boot which is ok I guess but the colors won’t change and none of the text I write for it is working. Just a stock GC boot logo. I noticed as well that the cubeboot configuration file I got from GitHub isn’t named correctly like yours was. It’s just “cubeboot” not “cubeboot.ini” running this as just “cubeboot” gives me no video signal but I can hear audio. Changing its name with .ini it boots up perfect but not changing logo color or using the text
tried to change the logo and color band got nothing. I was able to add a delay to boot up though. kinda disappointing with the logo/color, but oh well.
I swear I replied to this 2 weeks ago. Someone else just asked me the same question but I guess it didn't post the reply I came here to copy and paste. Make it look like this and it'll work. cube_color OOfff cube_logo = logo.png force_fallback = 0 force_progressive =1 default_ program= boot.dol preboot_delay_ms = 500 postboot_delay_ms = 3000 You may need to change progressive fallback to 0 if it doesn't work then try again. You can use the website he recommended to pick a color. I'm not 100% sure if this is exactly right to copy and paste it. But once I get home in a few hours if it doesn't work I can copy and paste from my SD Card and it will forsure work for you then.
I'm having mine pico'd. Black Xeno'd GameCube all the fittings underneath and sweet blue light. I dummied Swiss out n that burn rarely wants to boot. If I only could find a class for soldering with disposable shit.. anyway could I rename cubeboot.dol to B.dol A.dol etcetc so I can power on n then still resembles a Gamecube power up?
Nope actually I will keep cubeboot ipl.dol because all I can use Gamecube is in progressive 480p.. but to run Swiss on power A.dol START.dol jus does it?
Loving how the Gamecube is being shown such love recently. Definitely one of my all time favorite consoles.

How were you able to get it to work at all because I can't get it to work and I followed the directions on here verbatim

Thanks! How do I use a random color with each boot? The description says that's supported
The boot up animation was restored (quick boot was disabled) through Swiss over a year ago. HalfCircleForward has a video on it
Wow, that's awesome. Still available? Also, does it let you hold buttons during boot up (alternate openings) or is it just vanilla animation?

Does this work for picoboot? Can we follow the same steps to make this work on our GameCube with Picoboot

it boots in 480i even with progressive scan = 1. how do i fix that?
I got the startup to load but the ini file doesn't seem to be working. does the ini file go on the root of the SD card?
It says no video signal at first when booting up, then boots into swiss after a few seconds. No custom intro.
Do these files all need to be in the root of the SD? Or can I put them in their own folder?
Do you use gc loader with cube boot?
couldn't get it to work rip just black screens from the beginning
mine just keeps doing normal startup, nothing custom
Thank you

Will you make a Blue retro mod for GameCube please? The only other video is in Spanish and I really wanna make the mod.
Lazerbear has a Blueretro drop-in solution now for all four ports for $100. Go check out Machonacho productions' video on it.
