@@quantumuninstall I am not sure about that, I think in this particular case the 3090Ti PCB used was specially “beefy”, with dual 16 pin power connectors and some oc features (like probe pins etc). They had to add the 1.2V needed for the 4090 externally though. Compared to a reference 4090, I think there is not a lot to gain. However I do not understand portuguese to say for sure with the source.

Hi Tony, the inventor of Amtech flux works for Stirri and Stirri uses the original amtech formulas plus the newer ones they've been developing like the V3. There's no such thing as questionably sourced flux from them 😅 Amtech inventec on the other hand can still sell amtech branded flux, but their formula is worse (but they didn't change their labels to confuse people into thinking they're buying the same flux they used to).
It's amazing how much bigger those are from a6000 which has the exact same chip. a6000 is a 2 slot blower, 300 watt max. And 48 gb of gddr6, not gddr6x.
Both of these 3090tis came out of a damaged workstation used by Meta and later auctioned off. There were two brand new, not a speck of dust inside, Falcon NW workstations that somehow got seriously damaged. The backside PCI slot area had a huge dent as if something crashed into it, and caused the GPUs and motherboards to become dislodged. Unfortunately, the Maximus Z690 Heros were not able to be salvaged (I think), but these 3090tis seemed good enough to send to Tony. Hope that answers some of the questions people have over why someone would treat their GPUs like this. Only a multi billion dollar company would, lol. Thank you Tony for the work!

I still have that and my EVGA N'vidia 1070ti FTW2 and I maintain them regularly. I re-paste them once a year, and get new thermal pads once every 3-5 years. I still use them for gaming and modeling/modding games with Autodesk Maya and 3ds Max every so often. Now as a Network infrastructure Engineer, I use those programs I paid years ago to 3-D Print. Man I'm getting old... I still remember using 8 inch floppy's and cassettes! -Deuces!

I really don't need a new one, I'm just making a joke in my comment above with the forklift, the support beam, and the size of a Prius. The joke correlates with the damage on the PCI connector and pins, my guess is its most likely due to difficulty of placing or moving the card due to size, weight, and stress. I don't knock anyone that wants to buy or owns one.
I believe someone already made "4090 ti" by slapping 4090 core (and maybe ram too Im not sure) onto 3090 ti board with some other modification and actually got better performance than 4090.
21:42, I had similiar hole on 3080 FE, and the chip was overheating because the heatsink was not working properly. Had smh similiar on the other 3000 series cards from the Gigabyte too (and on the GTX 10xx G1 Series). Sometimes heatpipes would have such crack/hole and that specific heatpipe wouldn't work anymore, and then the temps would go 7-8-10C more than average if it's the middle pipe, if it's the outer pipe, then around 4-5C more on average.
Are you sure it's not cracked? At 1:26 when you put your finger on the board where that "Scrap" was you kind of tapped it twice with your finger and in the video it looked like there was a separation along the lower scrap on your second tap. Not sure if there are traces in that area but it did look like the lower part of the AGP tab moved when you touched it but it might have been the paper backing (or whatever it's called) on the board that moved. I could be wrong though :O)
AGP? You're 20 years in the past. It's a PCI-E Latch. The PCB is obviously broken.That's what happens when ham fisted people steal a PC and rip it apart to sell on e-bay. Yes the tab is broken and cracked 2 places and he was aware of this but he wasn't talking about that damage. The crack was referencing if there were any damaged traces in the area to the left where the connections are located. That "paper backing" is called the solder resist or solder mask.
I have an Asus 3090 Ti OC 24gb thousands of gaming hours on it and it's truckin' well . I had to update the bios because of bad detection and no display with uefi though.
Wow a 3090ti memory temp only at 68c, meanwhile my 3080 TUF goes to 85c on memory and 78c on hotspot after changing out the pads and paste. That cooler is much better than the TUF asus makes.

So, suspective "quality checks" at NVIDIA manufacturing units? No other possibility. I had a slight crack on one of the distribution pipes are well.. strange stuffs are happening randomly on NVIDIA cards. Hope they keep a closer eye on newer generation card manufacturing processes. 👍👍

After a lot of research, I didn't want to get a 3090 after considering getting an aorus 3090 waterforce, but i got one used, because previous owner had a waterblock AND active backplate with waterblock. Even aorus waterforce 3090's overheat on the memory chips. There is a video on youtube where a guy that owns an aorus 3090 waterforce, gets 100c on his memory chips. Avoid a 3090 in general. 3080, or 3080ti's are more than enough unless you want 4k high textures. Only reason I got mine is that I want to COMPLETLY AVOID 4000 new connectors and I wanted a card that will last me at least 5 years and I play in 4k some games. Its not only that the catch fire sometimes, THEY HAVE LIMITED LIFESPAN (in the manufacturers sheet it states that is rated for 35 plug ins and plug outs), which almost nobody is talking about. Its total bullshit.
Maxsun 4070 Super uses 2 x 8-pin and that's about as fast as a 3090 albeit with less VRAM Faster than 3090 at 1080p, same speed at 1440p and 8% slower at 4K

No TI just 4090. The GA102 (3090) and AD102 (4090) cores are pin compatible from what i know. You should be able to slap a 4090 core on a 3090 card and it should work given VRM can handle it.

Could I get your opinion on a EVGA 780 Ti 3gb? I ran mats on it and its saying the following: FBIOA[ 63: 32] 0 67108864 0 Thats the only error, write error. Would that be the memory controller of the core or the memory module itself? Unsure how I could check. Should I try and remove the A memory chip? I do soldering myself, interested in learning GPU repair. Hoping to have a better hot air station here soon. The Atten 862D. My 858D doesn't do BGA stuff well or at all. Thanks.

3090 ti is actually what 3090 should have been, instead 3090 ended up being a beta test from nvidia. And yes it can accomodate a 4090, it has been done by modders.
How the ¤"%# do one manage to get the PCI-E connector that scraped? When inserting a card into a motherboard, You're supposed to PUSH them in place in the connector, not SLIDE back and forth..! yeah gddr6x runs MUCH hotter than gddr6 and wouldn't make much difference other than games i guess.

No TI just 4090. The GA102 (3090) and AD102 (4090) cores are pin compatible from what i know. You should be able to slap a 4090 core on a 3090 card and it should work given VRM can handle it.
No they put the 4090 chip on the 3090ti board, over clocked it a bit and said it would be a feasible 4090ti

@northwestrepair I have a Asus 3090Ti ! i dont have any issue with the card !! in most demanding gmaes i have reach a temperature about max 73 degree Celsius !!! is any thermal Pad configuration i can lower the temparature ? like kind of copper pad ??? i like to try !!! im not 100 percent sure about ticknesses of thermal pad of this card!! appreciate any advice

Hi I noticed that you don't smear the thermal paste and put it on straight like that, aren't you afraid that it will go over the edges?
The thermal paste is there to fill in space. Extra causes no harm and ensures full coverage. No he's not "afraid".
Where to buy the flux you use? I have bought some fluxes on ebay but it doesn't work well

Thats the only error, write error. Would that be the memory controller of the core or the memory module itself? Unsure how I could check.
Should I try and remove the A memory chip?
I do soldering myself, interested in learning GPU repair. Hoping to have a better hot air station here soon. The Atten 862D. My 858D doesn't do BGA stuff well or at all.

3090 ti is actually what 3090 should have been, instead 3090 ended up being a beta test from nvidia.
And yes it can accomodate a 4090, it has been done by modders.

How the ¤"%# do one manage to get the PCI-E connector that scraped? When inserting a card into a motherboard, You're supposed to PUSH them in place in the connector, not SLIDE back and forth..! I mean like.. Really?? And when it's not in the computer, it should be stored in the original box in an antistatic bag!
