    I am very glad for all this information but where is the GE engineers that should have a pre filter that's maintained so all the clogging doesn't occur downstream.... I bought a GE dishwasher and we don't dump bunch old food or not scrape off. 2 days later it's not draining!! Probably getting a new one replacement but I have to replace and drain my entire house pipes or it leaks on the floor. 😩

    If it wasn’t for your video I would’ve been placing an order for a new dishwasher.
    I never thought I could have something creating a blockage at the black hose, right angle, since I had just replaced the pump 2 months ago.
    Sure enough, I found a MASSIVE blockage that was preventing draining to occur.
    Removed the blockage and now everything works. Thank you!

    Thank you so much for this!!! I was able to fix our 2019 GE Adora all by myself with zero prior experience! There was a sizable piece of organic matter stuck there at the bend, just where your cherry pit was. I won’t lie, this was a pretty big pain to do myself, but I’m glad I did. Saves us at least $200 and having to hand wash dishes all weekend before calling appliance repair. And certainly not least is the feeling of personal accomplishment and empowerment! Thanks again!

    I was able to fix mine just by opening the vent. There was a nice clog right there. Pulled it out, drained the washer a bit to flush the line and it was fixed. Thank you Scott.

One of those items was a toilet with a built in exhaust fan, sent all odors into a tube and vented on the outside roof, cost 750 dollars plus installation,[electric] Thanks for going to the trouble of making and posting these valuable DIYS videos

    This was a great help. I'm not finished yet, but I now know everything I need to know. There is no air gap on mine, but coffee grounds were getting into the drain tube from the disposal. I got them loosened and out with a hanger. I thought that all of the dishwasher's filters were pretty clean, but I poured some vinegar into the dishwasher drain, and about 8 lemon seeds floated to the top. I had already tried cleaning it with Q tips, so that was a big surprise. I didn't see them at all. I was hoping that I was done, so I ran a cycle and it didn't drain. I'm not looking forward to opening the pump tubes tomorrow, I'm expecting a really smelly mess. I'm sure that it's inside the pump. The drain tube is semi-transparent, so I could see the coffee grounds just outside of the disposal. I didn't see anything on the end of the tube coming out of the pump. Thanks for posting!!!

  • @eekmaddogburner7578
    @eekmaddogburner7578 8 месяцев назад +1

    There seems to be a check valve at the elbow that comes off the drain pump. You can blow into the hose from the pump side and get good airflow, but blowing in it from the other end lets almost no air through it. There was a small piece of scotch tape and a quarter inch plastic disc blocking the flow, but after removing these from in front of the check valve it drained perfectly.

Ran a cycle empty and dirty water ( it had previously had dirty water back up in it when our sink pipes stopped up) it went through full wash and rinse cycle but didn't drain again after the first amount after wash cycle. If you have water coming out of the air gap, there is a clog between that and the disposal or sink drain pipe. Because the nipple going into the disposal is smaller inside than the hose, they often clog at that point. I would HIGHLY recommend turning the circuit breaker off before you disconnect any water lines behind and/or under the dishwasher!!!

    I have a GE dishwasher and it stopped draining , I pulled it out and checked the drain hose. and found nothing , and tried to run the dishwasher and it worked fine. It drained really well. That was about 2 months ago and now the same thing again. I have no air gap and never heard of an air gap. I had to google it to see what it was and it is code only is some areas. I can't access anything on the bottom of the dishwasher because there is a huge plastic piece on the bottom and I can't figure out how to remove it. It almost looks like it is hinged but I can't find any screws or bolts to take it off. I have to do this to get at all the motors, solenoids and pumps. I had my old dishwasher for 35 years and the only thing that ever broke was the water supply solenoid and I fixed that myself. It was as loud as a cement mixer though. I never cleaned any filter or lines in it ever, 35 years. I didn't know dishwashers had filters. My old one had a big enough pump to overcome any food stuff. I can't imagine why they would downsize the pumps and put in all sorts of filters and unnecessary ad hoc parts , that only break. My clothes washing machine does not have a filter, it has a bigger pump I guess.
    So now I have a crappy dishwasher just over a year old and it is screwing up. What supreme garbage. why have a check valve to stop sink water? If it happens once in 10 years , you can shut the dishwasher off and clean up the water on the floor and then unclog your drain. I have been in my house for 39 years and the kitchen drain has never plugged up once. So I can delete the check valve and drain solenoid. Simplicity is the best. These add on bells and whistles cause more grief than some water on the floor once in 20 years, when and if your sink plugs up. Just put those little strainers in your sink from the dollar store and keep food out of the sink plumbing. I never had a garburator, My house in Florida has one and it keeps breaking. They are useless and break.

    • @lmv-db2tb
      @lmv-db2tb 2 года назад

      Isn't it funny how new appliances break so much more than older ones did? Seems like the manufacturers do it on purpose so you have to buy a new one more often or spend more money on parts....
