    It’s good to know that this is normal for people struggling with trauma etc. Admittedly I still do this, not to the same extent but it’s still there. I don’t know how to deal with things so it sometimes helps to go into a fantasy world and feel separated from yourself to view it from an outside perspective. You don’t have to be yourself temporarily. I feel like I’m weird for doing this 😅

    This was so beautiful. I thought I understood magical thinking already but this helped me understand it at a much deeper level.
    I could tell a lot of healing happened for me over the past two years specifically because I noticed myself not feeling comfort from daydreaming of a magical future any more. Anytime I try now I come back to reality pretty quickly. Magical thinking feels more like a waste of time to me than something that gives me tons of comfort. Woo! Love that for me
    Thank you for this post!

    Also narcissists will create good events for you ONLY if they are in the eye of the public so that they can keep up the facade and mask for everyone else. That’s the only reason they create an outer appearance of things like nice parties and so on. Great video. Thank you!

    I developed maladaptive daydreaming in 2012 it was a way to feel love & like I mattered. U know feeling special I would be considered crazy if I spoke on it ppl call me crazy. I still do it but not as much it was a way to make me feel special & like I mattered

    If someone was lonely and isolated as a child and as an adult he doesnt realise that he is lonely and does not try much to create relationships ,is that living in fantasy world?

  • @IdowhatIwant8
    @IdowhatIwant8 Год назад +1

    Can you make your past more happy and less toxic and pick a partner that is good for you? Or do you have to be real about your trauma and work through it? I myself have been in therapy for years and I always tell them I don't want to and won't remember things I've blocked out. If I do , I'll potentially snap and that would end bad for everyone . All I want to do is pretend nothing else happened and learn to move fwd and deal with what I know happened. Is there anything wrong with just believing the fantasy so you don't snap ?

    I used to spend a lot of time in my fantasies as a child and as an adult. I did it as a way of escaping and to make myself feel better. I simply spent a lot of time in another world. I'm 49 now and I finally eliminated it, or at least greatly reduced it. I've been using Ayahuasca for a year and a half now and it is purging me of my childhood pain.

      Fantasy is an escape. Visualizing is manifestation

      @@CandacevanDell thank you so much for your reply! Can't visualization also help us escape though? I am still kind of unclear where the line is, like if I'm engaging in fantasy thinking but lying to myself that I'm manifesting? Are there any tell tale signs that it's one or the other?

    The great inconsistency of people who believe with religious fanaticism in the law of attraction and positive thinking is that they are often the most negative, frustrated and neurotic people one can find.
    To begin with, they behave like religious fanatics who do not accept any criticism or questioning and can even become aggressive in defending their “beliefs.” They are such “positive” people that in everyday life they are the ones who complain about the smallest detail and have endless complaining.
    They are also very frustrated people with a certain degree of neurosis and outbursts of anger. The logical explanation (the opposite of the magical thinking of these individuals) for this behavior is that both the law of attraction and positive thinking have no scientific basis or effectiveness in real life. Therefore, these people feel frustrated when they do not see results since they dedicate themselves to “manifesting positive thoughts” instead of putting their hands into action.
    Of course there are people who were born in a privileged environment and attribute their privileges to the law of attraction, but these are particular cases that do not apply to the common citizen.

    excellent video it has brought me to my senses I wish I had the money to do one or more of your courses. I am using animal essences to stabilise myself but I haven't come out of my shell as i have no where to go and I have lost interest in creativity. This morning before watching this I realise it was all my own fault as i do not share my vulnerability I am still the same defensive person I have always been and I always put it down to cancer in the moon. i was going to invest in a TM mantra but that was outside my budget. I can see why Abraham Hicks doesn't work for me but you certainly do. Joe Dispenza and Gabor Mate do make a lot of sense but you speak volumes to me
