There is a risk to rotate the rings when tightening the tool so the ring gap can match the gudgeon pin. It's a bad tool in my opinion, I use a home made tool instead.
I used the same tool and it didn't go well, oil ring popped out and I didn't notice until it put a long groove in the bore , I had to get all cylinder's bored oversize and fit new piston's 😭

This is one of the worse tool to use. Get a professional tool, not that junk. you will break or damage the ring
If you're alone and don't have "professional tools" I have been using it differently trying different techniques but it had only made me into an accident. But Im Fine as hell.
