    To answers the q's you asked at the end. Battery life isnt necessarily the deciding factor, but ideally I'd like to go a few weeks w/o having to charge my headphones. I pretty much use my over ears on my daily work commute. Thats maybe 3 hrs a day 5 days a week considering the travel to and from work. Other than that, I'd like to make through an entire 4hr+ flight and the commute to the hotel/place I'm staying w/o even worrying about charge.
    As for how I use headphones: I listen to a variety of genres, but its primarily Dancehall Reggae, Hip Hop and R&B music. And I use an old ipod touch, which is why having an app isnt really a factor for me.
    Cool review, going to watch your other vids

      Oh, now for podcasts or listening to music during my work breaks, I use earbuds and connect via my cellphone

      Hey @dmac5472, thanks for watching!
      Sounds like your use case is very well defined! I wish mine was as well defined as yours! Mine is more like, “I listen… everywhere I can… mostly…”
      The big use case I DO have defined is how I use these: these are my gym headphones now. I wear them daily for an hour, at least, but let’s say 5x/wk @ 1.5h/day. I just recently had to charge them… for the first time! (The only annoying thing I learned is that these start complaining about low battery at 10% battery, which is still 6-13 hours, but it reminds you every 5 minutes, so… that’s something they could have changed.)
      Anyway, thanks for the comment!

      @@NorbReviews Its funny you mention the gym because for workouts, I have a pair of cheap "Lenovo" LP75 earbuds. I also have some Lenovo XT88s that I pair to the firestick for distraction free tv watching when the family is asleep. So I'm odd in having different earbuds for different uses lol.
      It wasnt always like that tho. After moving on from the wired earbud days(think the cheap Gumy brand 5 dollar specials), I got some wired Coby headphones and then Skull Candy Hesh 2s when those broke. Those were my everything headphones. The Gym, the commute, the lounging around the house etc. When they wore out the wired Solo 2 Beats were the everything headphones. It shifted when in like 2022.

      @@dmac5472 - Oh, I’m with you in having dedicated stuff. For the gym, I use the headphones when I’ll be doing mostly weights: I don’t sweat a ton then. When I’m doing more cardio (and sweat like a glass of ice water in Florida humidity), I tend to use a pair of refurb Bose QuietComfort Earbuds I got when Bose was clearing them all out (the first ones, with a case the size of check-in luggage), which I don’t use pretty much anywhere else. But I tend to prefer headphones over earbuds because I don’t like stuff inside my ears.
      Might sound crazy, but I’ve literally never been a one-headphone guy. I’ve tried. (And if I had to pick… probably the AirPods Pro 2.) But I really like keeping different audio gear for different uses, especially for gym/working out vs everything else.

      @@NorbReviews I prefer earbuds for stuff like podcasts but for music, its def over the ear headphones. I have made the concession for the workout earbuds. I tried to go cheap with workout over the ear headphones(like 20 bucks ) a year or so back but they sounded bad and broke in a couple weeks.
      Oddly enough those LP75s w the earhooks were decent for the 1 maybe 2 hrs of workout time I need them for. I may eventually get some over the ear workout headphones again. Thanks for the dialogue, I thought I was crazy lol

    • @NorbReviews
      @NorbReviews  6 месяцев назад +2

      OK, so at first I was thinking that this was a bit of an obvious question: the XM4 is a flagship that costs $350, of course it would be better, right? But better against what metric? The more I think about it, the more I realize this might be a really excellent question, especially if what you’re looking is value for the dollar.
      I might end up making a video out of this, after all.
      But my answer right now is really, “it depends”.

    Curious, have you used any Raycon products? I know that the brand gets a negative reaction but honestly, I like the stuff that I bought from them. I have the Everyday Earbuds, Headphones and Speakers(their 2022/2023 versions). They've added some newer stuff over the past year. I'd imagine that those items would have improved on the critiques of the older products

      I haven’t used Raycon stuff yet, but I’ve been curious. Their frequency response doesn’t seem to be what I’d normally like, but honestly, neither does the Skullcandy Crusher Evo, but I freaking love it, which is frankly the only thing that matters.

    Hey there great video you opened new options for me, could you please help me choose my first ever headphone since I am a student I do have a certain budget but I found models across the web that fit my budget. What I am mainly looking for is for listening to music, for travel, and gym. I do like ANC however sound quality is most important for me I feel here my options
    1. Q20i or Q30
    2 edifier 820
    3. QCY H3
    4. Hyper Pro
    5. Soundpeats space
    Many thanks in advance

      Hey! first, thanks for the kind words.
      Of the ones in the list, I haven't used the QCY H3 or Hyper Pro, so I can't speak to those. Given what you said here, I would also consider the JBL Tune 720BT amzn.to/4ccTsXP (which is the updated version of the 710BT, which I love), since it's around the same price and has MUCH better sound than all of these. It doesn't have any ANC, however, or an app, and for long-term use, I find them a little uncomfortable because of the pads. But they're perfect for the gym, though, which is why I usually use either them or the SoundPEATS Space.
      Of the ones here... it's tough. I lean toward the Q30 just because it's one of my all-time favorites: it's just such a great utility headphone! The weight, the build, the clamping force, the sound, and the ANC are all fantastic for the price with those, and I honestly think these are arguably SoundCore's best headphones.
      The Edifier I think might edge it out in sound, since it also does USB-C sound, and the ANC is decent. It does run a bit large and warm for my taste.
      Truthfully, I use the SoundPEATS the most, largely because its battery life means I almost never have to worry about it. I literally keep it next to my keys, wallet, and gym towel, since it's the one I most use for the gym when I use overhear headphones.
      ALL THAT SAID, the only one that comes with a case is the Q30, so if that's important because of travel, there's your answer.
      Again, I don't know about the QCY H3 or the Hyper Pro, so please take this with a grain of salt.
      Best of luck!

      @NorbReviews  5 месяцев назад +1

      Thats a tough question and I think I’m going to be making a video about this because the Q30 has been one of my favorites for a while now.
      Batterywise, yeah, this wins, no question. But otherwise… well, that’s tougher.

      I haven’t used the Q35, but I own both the Q30 and Q45. Except for the headband (which I mention in the video), the plastic body is on par with the Q30 (although the SoundPeats feels better to the touch for me). In other words, I feel it’s pretty decent: no complaints.
