  • A few months back I got these Focal Celestee's that changed how I listen to music. But today I am sitting here asking myself if they are even worth it. Are the Focal Celestee Really life-changing or are they missing key features like noise cancellation? Do they still sound good without an amp?
    If you are an Audiophile, please let me know your thoughts on AMPS, I really need help!

    Great video! I’ve got some Meze 99 Neos. They’re just so comfortable and I’m pretty satisfied with them. But if I could, I’d get some Meze Empyreans because that copper pattern on them is insane

      Oh yeah the copper looks really nice on headphones really gives it that pop!

    Interesting perspective ! In my opinion though, I don't think that Sony creating other electronic devices that are not audio would makes them less relevant alongside Senheiser. Fyi Sony focused on audio applications when the company started (Sony comes from the latin word "sonus" which is pretty much sound). Anyways I don't wanna bother you, this is great content keep it up !
    PS : I've owned the Sony WH-1000xm4 for a year now and I just love these headphones

    Went to a HiFI show a couple weeks ago and, for the first time, listened to some really high end speakers/amps/turntables, but no way I could afford them. It made me focus more on headphones and what I can get from them

      Oh yeah when i was abroad in japan i visited a variety of vinyl bars with hifi speaker set ups. Headphones definitely give you that experience for a lot cheaper. No need to design a room, and get the right speaker, and etc! Honestly listening to hifi set ups in rooms made me appreciate my headphones a lot more when i got back to the US

    Great video. I wouldn't say something like over the ear headphones are a step up over in-ear wired earbuds. There are many IEM's that destroy my LCD 3's and Focal Clears in detail retrieval. The Celestee's are good for closed back but are typically only "okay" compared to their open back counterparts in the same price bracket.

    also i'm with you, airpods pro are the GOAT for pocketable noise cancellation to block out all those pesky airplane babies

    EDIT: these headphones have REALLY grown on me. I absolutely love them now. I almost sold them & gave them another go... I'm glad I did because with the right music; mostly jazz, slow jams & more sophisticated electronic - anything which gives the music room to breathe, they're absolutely phenomenal (they're certainly light years ahead of these Sennheiser Momentum 4!!! Sorry man, but that's wild. And Sony have much better IEMs then Sennheiser... Sony's audio division is absolutely as good as Senns overall).
    I own them. Was offered brand new for 600. I certainly think they're worth 500-600 MAX but these are NOT 1000 USD headphones (well they are... but y'know). I love them for Jazz more than any overhead I own.
    I just bought the Prestige Ltd IEM... these are 1300 USD and absolutely worth it. To get this quality of sound with an overhead, you'd need to buy a Diana or something on that level.

      Looks g at your edit! Yeah I agree they are such a wonderful listen with slow jams! Also thanks for the input on the Sony’s! I made this video a while back and didn’t know better but i’m glad people on the comments are correcting me for others!

    Try EQ and bumping the bass up a bit with the Celestee, that headphone can bang and the dynamics are crazy good

      @@emi777 you are welcome. Only thing I had to do on some sources was tame the treble a bit, but if you have a darker or relaxed sounding source it can be just perfect

    if you don't really mind getting a pair of wired headphones, then the Sennheiser HD6xx at Drop is probably the best choice for budget friendly audiophile quality headphones. They use the same drivers as HD650 and probably one of the best open-back headphones under 1,000 bucks and yet they are generally sold at around 240. Sony does make a lot of audio gear including consumer level headphones but they do make high-end headphones as well as monitoring headphones for pro audio. For example, their flagship Z1R is one of the best closed back headphones on the market.

    been eying those since i wanted a high end closed back. but on audition they were nothing special sound wise. ended up with the focal clear after that store visit. you need a proper amp and DAC to make those shine though.

    Ive owned these and their predecessor the elegia. And found both very underwhelming. My sony mdr-z7m2 blew them away. Not to mention that if you want to replace earpads on focal headphones your paying 200+...

    • @skoosie9785
      @skoosie9785 4 месяца назад

      I agree, similar priced closed back headphones such as the LCD 2 Closed, LCD-XC, and the Aeon 2 Noire are way better. I own the Elegia and have tried the Celestee and I found both way overpriced for what they offered.

    i get the celestees for 820 bucks they woud be 799 but 20 is extra for paying in rates ,i wantes to ask you did you had a burn in period with these mine are 20 hours i read they need 40 hours at list other say 100 i like the sound but i don,t find them insane im not easy person heard some 30,000 till 50,000 hifi setups at a show just in May . other question did people at these coffe looked at the celestees or not so im planing to take them on a flight and cruise soon.

    • @emi777
      @emi777  11 месяцев назад +1

      Hey! Glad to hear you got a nice deal. Not sure about the burn in period for mine, I feel like they just fit my listening style better than the Dan Clark/Mr Speaker set I had before.
      For your second question no I didn’t have people staring at me or anything. I’ve worn them in public a lot before and have never had anyone stare or saying something. I think it’s in part because of their design they don’t look crazy specially since they are closed back.

    Nice way to put it, that’s exactly what this is about - experiencing more out of your music. And there are many more layers above Calestee, it’s still a beginner headphone in grand scope of things
