    Could one say it's a boring listen?

      One could. It's a bit sterile for me in general, but tubes help.

    I own the Focal Bathys, Elex, Elegia, Celestee, Clear OG and Radiance. The Celestee is one of my favorites.

      I have the celestee with dekoni stellia pads plus I widened up the headband giving me a different but pleasant sound which I like more than the stock one, BUT I would like to know if there's a big gap between the celestee and the radiance

    • @risumorino1876

      @@Gyzmsam I daily my Radiance and I've tried Celestee.
      I think Celestee is just neutral harman, no personality. Radiance is like the fun brother of Celestee. Warmer, bassier, unexplainably nicer tone in general.
      Also clamp force and headband quality of Radiance is noticeably more nicer and comfortable than Celestee.
      On those parameters alone I think Radiance is better.

    Great review you saved me $1000. You did a good job in describing the comfort and sound quality from solid state to tube. The way the ears pads are angled on the head i do not like. I though these were audio heaven but now i know how these are lacking in the audio . I will stay with my Bose SoundTrue around earheadphones. When i compare these to the Celestee there is nothing that i will miss not having a $1000 headphone.

    • @MasterMarslander
      @MasterMarslander  Год назад

      If you really enjoy the sound signature of the Bose TrueSound then you might not enjoy the Celesee. There is certainly a wide selection of wonderful headphones you might want to consider instead. You might enjoy the Meze 99. I have a video up on those as well.

    I have a Topping DX-5 and was considering these. They don't seem like a good match for an amp lacking warmth. The DX-5 reviews I've seen characterize it as crisp, detailed, analytical, and cold. I'm a Focal fan, but these are not Stellias... is there another closed-back, wired headphone that matches well with the DX-5? BTW I didn't want to keep my DX-5, but it's not returnable. Wired mode with my Bose NC700s is terrible. (That's a whole other rant 😅)

    • @MasterMarslander
      @MasterMarslander  11 месяцев назад +1

      Most Topping gear tends to lean on linear and analytical sound. Very good stuff if you really want that unflavored sound. If you want that in your headphones, then the Celestees will do it. If you want something a bit more energetic while still being very accurate, then take a look at the Dan Clark Aeon Closed. On the other end of the spectrum, if you want something musical and unique, maybe take a look at ModhouseAudio T60 Argons.

    Which DAC amps should I get ?

    • @MasterMarslander
      @MasterMarslander  2 месяца назад

      @germanrottweiler2811 it all depends on your headphones and your budget. A good starter stack that will work for most headphones would be the Shiit Magni and Modi. If you want a simple solution, something like the new Zen Dac 3 would be a good choice, it's a hybrid amp/dac.

    Hi ! You think it can be good with a wireless dac on my iPhone ? And If I listen to FLAC audio (Deezer Hi-fi) it will be okay (I don’t have an amplifier)
    And what about the sound if I watch movie on Netflix on my MacBook, it will be good too ?
    Thanks :)

    Hi and thanks for the video, so I was wondering, I bought the celestee a month ago, and I like the sound of it with my pc's dac, warm sounding but yet detailed, overall very pleasant experience, but with the dawn moondrop dac and my phone it was bright, analytical, and exhausting it destroyed the dynamic feel and the bass, so I was wondering if you think the R2R cayin dac would do a better job warming up broading the sound for me... anyway thanks again and keep it up!

    • @MasterMarslander
      @MasterMarslander  Год назад

      It might? It's very hard to say. The headphone is very amp dependent and changes the sound signature dramatically from one amp to another. I'd say give it a shot, and if you don't enjoy it, return the R2R and try something else. It's going to be a journey finding the right fit.

    Do these leak a lot of sound when listening loud? Maybe you didn't burn them in enough and sounded that way?

    • @MasterMarslander
      @MasterMarslander  11 месяцев назад +1

      They don't leak much, no. It depend on how good of a seal you get with the pads, so if you're like me and wear glasses it might leak a little bit. I listened to them for at least a full week before the review, but it is possible that more of a burn in period could of adjusted the sound. To be clear, I really enjoy them, I think they sound great, they just aren't my preferred kind of listening.
