Are you implying they are lying about providing funds to indigenous communities to reclaim their lands? Or that they aren’t doing any of the other things I mentioned that directly affect the lives of farmers in countries most at risk from climate change? If so, I’d like to see the source for that because if you can provide one, I won’t work with them again. Calling something “a scam” with no source and no actual details isn’t very helpful though. If you’re saying indigenous communities getting providence over the land is “ineffective”, what does that mean?

@@MrJonsonville5 I don't think you're getting the context, the idea being pushed here is a transphobic one in which the your kids being transed is now going so far as kids identifying as different animals and schools feeling obligated to bend to that
It's basically a slippery slope thing, eg "what if telling kids they can identify as whatever gender they want leads to them identifying as other things like animals?" It's very reminiscent of people going "oh well if we tell people that it's okay to be in relationships with people of the same gender, what's next, will we have to accept zoophiles and pedophiles?"
The word "furry" is only used here to help further confuse the truth because people might go "oh I've heard of furries so that's a thing that exists so this thing must be true", relying on people having just heard weird shit about furries but not actually knowing what the term means. They're just co-opting an existing term to make it sound more like it could be a real thing.

Kitty litter in schools? Yes, its in the bucket. What bucket, you ask? The one with supplies for school shootings. It has kitty litter in it so that should the class be forced to lock down for hours, they can use it quietly and not have to go into the hall and become a target. What else is in there? Those silver emergency blankets, just in case the teacher has to cover up a victim so the other kids don't have to see the body.

Recent interaction on the street with the kitty litter rumor. I chatted with a random lady while at the tire shop last week. She instantly opened up about a ton of really personal life stuff and referred to her kid as "high functioning", which made me suspect they were both autistic and she was afraid to openly say that part, so I mentioned that I and my kids are autistic, and she smiled and enthusiastically confirmed that they were too. We were having a nice chat but I noticed she felt really compelled to say how well her kid can read and do math, and then she mentioned about how the dad is resistant to admitting that his son is autistic because "my son's not retarded". And I lightly said something about how being disabled in any way isn't a big deal when people are accommodated to suit their needs. And she agreed, and admitted some of her son's challenges, but was quick to say, "But at least he's not using a litter box like some of these kids." And I paused, and blinked, and decided not to bring up that I and my kids are also non-binary. Ugh.

Using similar terminology (ie. "Identifies as a cat" to "Identifies as a girl") also makes what is actually being asked of people or institutions to sound equally ridiculous. The right claims that children who identify as a cat are asking for litter boxes. Regardless of where you are on the political spectrum, it sounds ridiculous if it's a real request. That, with the similarity of terminology, implies that students with a gender identity that doesn't match their sex requesting to use the appropriate bathroom is somehow just as ridiculous. I've actually seen comments and heard talking right wing heads say, "Well even if they aren't asking for litter boxes, what they are asking for is just as ludicrous." Creating parity between the real and the fake serves their purposes. It's the ultimate strawman where they can knock down both arguments because one is so silly.

    • @TwixtheFox
      @TwixtheFox Год назад +18

Yeah I'm worried that's gonna become a trend tbh. I think furries are gonna become one of the big targets of conservatives very soon. Hopefully I'm wrong though. I'm honestly worried we're gonna get big protests, or major threats against cons. That would make me so sad. Especially since so many furries, including myself, bring lots of high value items such as my full fursuit. Having something that cost me 5,000$ near a crazed hateful evangelical conservative who thinks it's "gods will" to harm us would make me incredibly nervous and feel very unsafe. Not just that but we've seen how the media represents attacks against the furry community. We get laughed off the air and people use us as a cheap joke and brush it off.
They would definitely spin it as Furries indoctrinating young people and basically wrap it into one large bigoted hatemongering campaign, since Furries are basically a big minority hangout. We have very casual cross dressing, drag shows at cons, LGBTQ+ people of all kinds, etc. I mean Megaplex recently made their con 18+ only because of Florida's new laws.
I'm worried it's only gonna get worse. I hope I'm wrong through. It would really suck to have that happen to a community I've been apart of for over 15-17 years, and actively commissioning, going to cons, and suiting for 8 years now. It would really be crazy that somehow we would become MORE hated than it's ever been before. Don't see how it could've gotten worse than 2016 lol. But I've learned conservatives can always get worse.
I'm specifically worried about the Texas cons, which is where I'm located and go to all the cons here. Because florida and texas are the two hot spots for proud boys and such to show up armed and intimidating others.
The future scares me, but I know times will change eventually. Furries are only getting more accepted due to us breaking into all sorts of high profile jobs and areas in the world, and making history. Such as chise, the furry who helped make the covid vaccine. Lots of my friends are high profile coders too. We're making a large and positive change in the world, and we can't be ignored. Furry acceptance is SO much more than it used to be when I was a young furry. Even a lot of kinks Furries indulge in are miles more accepted than they used to be, speaking as a long time Fatfur. It's wild how different things are now.

We were all having a fine afternoon, conversation was light and apolitical. Then, out of the blue, my stepmother-in-law started with some light anti trans comments, which I immediately shut down. I would have regardless, but with my daughter’s friend (who we’ve tried to get to move in with us because their home/parental situation is toxic af) I went into overdrive.
My sMIL then changed the topic to the litter boxes in classrooms thing, claiming it was happening in a school two hours north of here (because it’s NEVER where you actually live, is it).
My first reaction was that there was no way that was true. Deep Red state, semi rural high school where she claimed this was happening, in the Unisex bathroom (I was 99% certain they didn’t have a unisex bathroom there).
I just shut the discussion down and soon everyone went home. And then I started fact checking, and below is the follow up text I sent her (to which their was never a reply, and we didn’t really hear from or seem them again until right around Thanksgiving this year):

Rumor has it that there is a Bat Boy Musical. Look it up.
Also, thanks again for another amazing, well-researched, and informative video.

If there actually ever was a litter box in a classroom or whatever, it'd be a prank by one of the kids. Legalize weed and make mee-maws and pee-paws using the internet a schedule one drug and I promise you, this kind of problem will just go away lolz 😂

I really like your hair lately, it makes me jealous. Also your videos are so clearly time- and labor- intensive and so few people are doing work of this caliber. You're a gem.

"Did i say my friend's wife is a teacher and see saw the litterbox herself?"
"Sorry, I misspoke. I meant to say i read a fake story online about a litterbox in a school bathroom."
"You can see how i got the two confused" 🙃

So technically the idea of "men's penises get smaller if they have sex with more than one women" as a counter attack against the falsehood of "women's vaginas get looser if they have sex with more than one man" is chaotic good malinformation?

my favourite part of the rat name bit as a rat owner is that the best rat names should also pass as Puritan names. these work.

A LOT of the 'burned to the ground' rumors focused on Portland, Oregon. I am a photographer here and got harassed off of twitter by people accusing me of 'propping up' the idea that the city still exists. We exist and just named an urban park for a drag queen, deal with it.

It’s crazy how the litter box thing is still going around. I just had to tell my in-laws that the schools in our town aren’t doing this. In response they called their friend who told them about so she could correct me. Luckily she wasn’t home.
