I bought my daughter and me 50 SPF rash gear, focused on keeping the water clean & clear. We will purchase reef-safe sunscreen when we arrive. I lived in Oahu as a kid from 1968-1974. Snorkeling was what I did as a kid. I have not been back to Oahu in 50 years! I can hardly wait!
It would be appreciated as a local to make mention of taking care of the land and keeping it clean. Views are always nice but always leave the place cleaner than when you came, especially Hawaii.
Very well said! We did mention at 17:16 😊 Hawaii is so breathtakingly beautiful and as visitors, it is always our responsibility to make sure we are treating every inch of this special place with care and respect. Thanks so much for watching our video! So cool to have a local see how much we enjoyed it!!
Hi Max & Sidney, I’ve been to Oahu many times, like staying in Waikiki as I enjoy the ‘buzz’, especially in the evening. Usually rent a condo, also an a hiker. Haven’t been back since Covid, this brought back good memories. I watch a lot of travel videos, I have to say this is one of the best. The editing and storyline is perfect, and so is your voice. I even learned some new things about the Island. Thanks for this, be well.❤
Thank you so much for the comment, your words truly mean a lot to us! It’s a special feeling to connect to fellow travelers through this platform, we really appreciate you watching and we are so excited that you enjoyed it!
We’re absolutely thrilled to hear that you enjoyed it! It was a really fun one to put together, we had such an amazing time there! Thanks so much for watching 😊
Thanks so much for watching! We actually stayed at a friend of a friend’s house, we just really lucked out with timing 😁 there are a lot of awesome AirBnB’s on Oahu that we saw!! It can definitely be a little cheaper outside of the Honolulu area and we enjoyed seeing a more residential part of the island away from the other tourists
A couple questions/comments: 1. How did the hike compare to "the M" in Missoula? We were all struggling on that one 😆 2. Mark wants to know - how many pairs of shoes have you both gone through during your travels? 3. We both chuckled at Max's hair flip after the snorkeling. 4. Did you have any favorite or stand-out experiences during your 6 day visit? Thanks for sharing!
Wow, awesome questions! 😄 1. It wasn’t as steep as the “M” hike, that incline in Montana was so intense 😂 but the slippery mud and the steps made this hike very challenging!! The views were worth it though 😍 2. We’ve each gone through 3 pairs of shoes since our travels began, but actually, the shoes you saw in the video were officially retired after this week in Hawaii 😅 3. Hahaha, keeping hair out of my face is a new struggle I didn’t used to have 😂 4. There was one night that Sidney and I decided to head up the west coast to catch the sunset. No one else wanted to come because it was kinda cloudy and we were coming back from a long day, but the clouds ended up clearing just in time for a stunning sunset! We walked around these huge rocks right on the shore and took in the scenery, it was so cool!! There are plenty of great memories from the whole week, we really had an amazing time! It definitely made us want to check out the other Hawaiian islands in the future!
If you have the time and money you should save enough for a month of staying in the state of hawaii. Between the four islands you can easily spend the whole month and still no not see everything. A week is not enough, the first and last day is travel day (airport, hotel and a little rest) that means that you have at most five and half days of fun, so no matter where we travel to we try to stay for nine to ten days. Let's face it if you're going to spend the time and money why not a few more days and enjoy the trip .
That sounds like a dream!! We would definitely need to save up to stay that long, but we absolutely want to see the other islands!! I’m sure there is so much more to discover besides Oahu. We can’t wait to come back, absolutely LOVED our time there! You are definitely right, a week is not long enough 🥲

I’m glad you made mention of the right sunscreen to use. You should also mention that Hanauma Bay requires a reservation like Diamond Head.
I enjoyed your video. Music was great and very informative.

was there for 2 days, next time I need to stay for a week.
Couldn’t agree more! Even a week felt too short 🥺
I'm from maili point behind the 76 gas station. lived there for over 20 years. beautiful beaches if the homeless would leave lol

UV index of 11!?!?!?!!!! I’m going in July and now I’m scared, it was UV 11 in April? 😭😭
This was actually filmed in late August last year, but yeah the UV was crazy!! We honestly thought it only went up to 10 😂 definitely use sunscreen!
Great video
Thanks for watching!
