Fantastic to see you attempting some rarely heard ragas on the flute, which also happen to be my favourites: Shankara, Gaud Malhar etc. Divinity flows through the bamboo...
it is so impressive to see and hear how the Deergha Viraam is used to create an ambience of repose, of Shaanti, or Solace, of the assured feeing that there is a Divine behind all this perplexing and sometimes scary phenomenal world. Combined with the Tonic (Aadhaara Shadj) and the quintessential Indian gamaka of Leenam (Meend), this music projects Shaanta Rasa that Yogi-s aspire for. This music makes one believe experientially that there is definitely a Yogaanubhooti in music. Dhanyavaad!
@reddevil1417 thank you for the comment my first guru was late pt P.J.Bagadadev who was a very senior desiple of pt VijayRaghavRao . then I learnt from Dr.Smt Annapoornadeviji for so many years and still following her teachings and trying to produce her music on Bamboo Flute
Kya baat hae. Kya baat hae..... Sir please come to Kolkata sometime also. Bless us by your benign presence. So soulful and lyrical is your playing as if water is gently flowing over rocks and the serenity becomes so overwhelming that the silence begins to have a lyric of its own.
@milindbansuri I hope that one day you will be able to produce a DVD or a CD similar to the one that Pandit Jasraj did with Pandit Chaurasia based on Krshna Bhajans -- using a male or female singer who can sing with the note D as a tonic. I am sure you have seen this DVD in a Jugalbandi format. In that one, the singer was too overwhelming, but the idea is good--combining a bhajan with improvisations in the chosen raga.with vocals and bansuri.
Your music is so exquisite and pure and true to the glorious tradition! Thank you so much for sharing it with us all. Only one suggestion: Please use a real Tanpura. It will add so many mysterious Svayambhoo svara-s (harmonics in western terminology) to your already divine music. All the best, DKM Kartha
Beautiful...
Thank you
