Tbh the last time I saw John was his in-studio stream recording for the song Nefarious. Comparing his posture and neck position from then to now, the curvature to his spine is more noticeable. This might just be conjecture, but my heart goes out to him. Hopefully it doesn't advance too rapidly and he can find a treatment so he is still able to enjoy his craft. :/
Man… Browne we miss you! Immediately after watching this close to midnight I got inspired and instead of sleep I picked up my guitar and recorded an idea in DADGAD half a step down on a voice memo. Thank you for always being an inspiration homie! ❤ wishing you a speedy recovery and all the best brother!
Ah yes, the undefeated rhythm world record holder John Browne 🥇 Glad to see you pop up in my feed mate, always just the tasty notes from you innit 👌 Love your work ❤️
that bridge pickup sounds lovely love how flubby the low end is and the glassy high end it has wish it had more mids but you can dial that in with your gear. sounds like a really solid shred machine to me more than a riff machine unless you do really chord heavy riffs kinda like a mark holcomb type sound. to me the best way i'd describe the sound is if a mathrock/midwest emo guitar went metal
Sounds awesome. Amazes me how versatile today's instruments are. Things you wouldn't expect to cover the high gain tones you play do it pretty well. This guitar and the Yamaha shocked me.
Hey brother. You're one of the most incredible and unique guitar players on the planet. I wish you a good recovery and hope to hear you're back making music with the boys (or in any capacity) soon. Nothing but love for your style as you've helped me really lean into the style of playing that I enjoy for myself. One love brother man.
That clean outra was a vibe, reminded me of Wes Borland's similar parts. Your playing is an absolute joy to listen to, hope you're recovering well mate. ✊
Can't believe I was listening to Monuments earlier today, imagining what it would look/sound like if John played something Fender, and here we are! Not only that, but he's playing the model and color I was looking at most lol.
Don’t love it for the staccato riffing, but the chords sound great distorted, and-not surprising-the cleans are very nice. Appreciate you demoing it in this context. Wish you the best in your recovery, and thanks for the riffs 🤘🏽!
Surprised that they added luminlay side markers but not stainless steel frets. I know they used to put them on the Ultra Luxe models but for $2200 US you'd think they'd have them on a modern "ultra" strat. I personally moved on to G&L decades ago for my Strat and Tele needs. You can order those with stainless frets too if you want.
Your electrical problems could be due to ungrounded outlets. If that isn't the case, then installing isolated equipment grounds at each outlet will help too. Power Amps and Monitors almost always want isolated grounds
@@AnthonyCamachooo thing is in England/U.K every outlet is ground, so it’s probably something connected to it that’s had its ground like, not done properly let’s say.
@johnbrownemonuments I agree, an improper ground or neutral installation could cause this. Installing an isolated ground and neutral should remedy any problems within the system. In any case, in the US we use isolation transformers to remove physical connections from the electrical grid and act as local power conditioners. The grid could be giving resonant power through the system causing quirky behavior. If you’d like to kick around some more electrical ideas I’m an electrical engineer in the US. Met you a few times at your meet and greets and outside shows. Super big fan!
Hey Browne great video as always i was curious im not sure If you can even answer this really but I was wondering when you were with Mayones you primarily used the BKP Nailbomb in the Bridge and Coldsweat in the neck and ive been curious since you have had your signature Schecter for a while now would you say the Colossus Bridge and chaos breaker neck pickups are as good or similar or did you kind of get to just come up with your perfect set cause I don't believe the nailbomb and coldsweat where a signature set for you. I was just curious is all I understand if you can't get into or if you see this message at all. Love your videos gonna be signing up for riffhard been working hard on learning Cardinal red and Makeshift Harmonies just wanted you to know those 2 songs lit a fire under me when I was in a rut and couldn't get out so thank you for being well Browne. Cheers 🎉
@@InfamouslyCantankerous my pickup set is definitely modelled after those two pickups - I really love those pickups but the Schecter USA pickups are kind of their takes on them. A bit different but still super clean and tight.
Mr. Browne, you should try some single coils out! Don't limit yourself silly :) In all seriousness, the Cobra and Trilogy sets from BK look very good and might suit your playing.
Just a guess , but my GPU card when is running is making noise called Coil Whine and I noticed the pickups can take these high freq. sounds. Maybe if you can try turn of pc and check if these sounds persist.
I keep seeing The John Browne signature Schecter guitar and it's in my consideration for a new guitar - I'm a lefty and it's available in left handed and I'm looking for something without a floyd rose. I've been playing with FR's and tremolo bridges for almost all my guitar playing life (20+ years) and I've never used the bar lmao. I'll be honest, I've never heard of John before and I have heard of Monuments but never listened to them. With that said, I like his playing style. I may just grab one of the Schecter TAO-6s. It's a little cheaper than the Made in USA Schecter, I just found on Reverb (it's a masterbuild, lefty, new oldstock and cost 5400 to have built but is only 3200....not cheap but it's sweeeett). This guitar sounds great and looks great. I'm a stratocaster guy, through and through, but I need a little bit more for my playing style (melodic death metal/the kind of stuff that John plays), so, I haven't really considered a Strat, except for a hardtail but those are exceedingly rare in lefty and they aren't tricked out for metal at all.
Do you have any dimmers in your space? I was having bad issues in my studio and discovered it was a dimmer switch in my master bathroom on the opposite side of my house
It’s only just appeared so I think it’s potentially a bad cable as nothing has changed. Doesn’t do it with amps either so it’s potentially the DI box? Who knows!
In my case, I have a new house, which means it has a smart meter instead a conventional electric meter, and they don’t send electricity consistently like old ones; it sends the electricity in bursts, which causes a LOT of interference. Sucks, but now noise gates are my friend.
that annoying electrical noise is prolly interference from your pc. put the guitar really close to it and see if it gets louder lol that was my problem at least.
Fender is sending that same exact guitar to every influencer on RUclips. Not saying the guitar isn’t great, I’m sure it is. It’s just funny every guitar tuber is reviewing the same guitar.
Does Fender make anything that's not good? Jackson, Charvel, EVH, and the Fender stuff are all great. Amps, guitars, pedals all of it is great. We're living in a Fender golden period. Enjoy it and buy something from them because it's good. Not hard to find either. 🤣
Love a good strat, I just can’t get on board with not having stainless frets above 1500$ these days. They used to say “stainless is expensive because it’s hard to work with” then LTD, Harley Benton and several other entry level brands showed that isn’t really the case. Fender gate keeps the stainless for ultra luxe… which is 2500+, basically creeping in on used suhr territory for 1/4 of the QC and craftsmanship. Their USA line is just in a weird spot price wise.
your getting your noise from your power source itself like from your utility supplier you can get filters for that also check that your building is grounded well.

Riff Lord riffin it up as always.
Brilliant high gain sounds. Btw, try unplugging the wallplug for your backround led lights, those chepo chinesium transformers are noisy.
chinesium :D I'm so gonna steal that
