I’ve officially completed my English GCSEs! Thanks Mr. Salles for your videos. Because of them, I’ve managed to get a 9 in language and an 8 in literature in my mocks. I kinda think the mocks went better than the real thing but fingers crossed for results day edit: I got the same as my mocks so im happy ahaha :)
@@ItsJustTech thanks haha! I pretty much just watched his and Mr.Bruff's videos and made character profiles for the important characters. I also made theme profiles for important themes eg ambition in MacBeth or savagery in Lord of the flies, with all the important quotes and analysis linked to the quotes, and started to memorise that. Also when quoting things in your essays remember to keep the quotes short and embedded, and try to analyse nearly every word in the quotation that you're using. A deep analysis is great, so I preplanned a deep analysis for important quotes. For language I didn't really do much revision tbh but I memorised a bunch of generic descriptions for things like weather with a lot of similes, metaphors and personification so that I could use it in the descriptive/creative writing part. Hope that helped :)
I've decided to do English Lit A levels after doing quite well during my exams this year. Do you have any advice of how to prepare for it or what to expect?
Mr Salles, after using your videos as a main guide for my revision, i improved from a grade 6/7 in lit/lang to a grade 9 in both! Thanks for your help!
Hi thank you for this video I needed it as I have an English lit mock on Friday can u please make a last-minute revision video as I have not made any revision cards or did any past papers
I have decided to take english language as an A- level (AQA) in september. However there doesnt seem to be that much online or youtube content compared to English Literature A-level, and I would really appreciate it if you could please reccomend some resources to use? To be honest it feels a bit like going into the deep end without the security of knowing I could get a high grade from your videos.
Thanks Em. I've resisted making any A level videos, as there are fewer viewers. However, there might be a lot of international viewers. List me the texts you are going to study, and I will make a video on one of them.
What do i do if my mocks are on monday😭😭 I have two questions for english lit, one inspector calls and the other macbeth. Ive only ever done two englit essays before in my entire life and only yesterday found out you need an intro and a conclusion. So far your videos have been amazing. Im planning on doing some practice essays and learning quotes via flashcards, is that a good idea? Do you have any other advice?
How do you know what quotes to learn and revise for English Literature (I never know which quotes to learn for Macbeth PLEASE HELP ME) e.g. which are important and how many to learn...
Idk if this is useful anymore but I personally pick out the quotes which drive the conflict of the story. For example, any quotes that show Macbeth’s unholiness or him being selfish while Banquo is loyal. Lady Macbeth being controlling etc. A good way to remember them is to create flashcards with the quotes but miss words and put the missing words on the back.
@@rachaelskipworth3787 same i did my literature mock last week and forgot everything in the exam and ended up comparing the wrong poem and forgot to mention the structure or abt the writer
I watched one Lang vid and ended up getting an 8 first time in Lang thanks to you! Appreciate the content and keep posting!
Thanks, well done
