I’m rather positive that I would have loved history and actually retained information if you had been my high school history teacher. You have this way of presenting information in a way that makes whatever the topic is very interesting and engages people and helps them remember what you spoke about. That’s a talent that can’t be taught!

Do you ever come across ghosts that aren’t bad? We grew up in a “haunted” house but we never had bad things happen to us. However, my brother was renovating a part of the house and they had sheets of glass on a table. His friend, made a crude remark about one of us (there were three girls) and my brother walked away while telling him not to say things like that. My brothers friend was on a ladder and he swears a sheet of glass flew directly at him. My brother ran back into to room and had to take his friend to the hospital to get stitches. Everyone there that day swears there was no one near the glass. Soon, it became clear that no one should speak in a disrespectful way about any of us. Not even joking! I love that house to this day! We have a lot of stories to tell!

I have!! My childhood home was haunted by a 15 year old boy who hung himself, and he would come into my doorway and just watch me at night. He never came any closer than the doorway, as if not wanting to frighten me. My dad heard him walking around throughout the day when home alone. He was just a curious, almost protective-like young man and never caused any trouble. One of the buildings at my school is also haunted, I’ve discovered. I recently saw a man in a suit peeking in on my lecture. Every time I went to fully look at him, he ducked behind the doorway. I finally caught a full look at him, though. He’s just a curious guy, probably just wondering what we’re doing. My grandparents’ house though? They have something dark there.

    • @paulad.patterson4732
      @paulad.patterson4732 3 года назад +3

The house we lived in during the mid-to-late 70s was haunted. It was a fairly new, probably 5 or 6 years old when we moved in, but there had allegedly been a farmhouse there at one time. We stayed there the longest - about 2 years, nobody else lasted more than 6 months. My brother absolutely refused to sleep in his bed the entire time we lived there because, as he told our parents "Those kids won't leave me alone." The only person who never saw anything weird was my father. My mother told me recently that one of the reasons we moved out of state was because of the ghosts (the other was because the neighbors were mobsters from Philly).

      Dive deep or don't bother.
I work alone in the super early morning because Covid. Entire shifts are spent listening to these stories. The lil ten minute overviews are useless to me.
Was also listening to the lights out podcast but those guys are super doofy and it's distracting. Stephanie is actually a good storyteller and must dedicate a frankly amazing amount of time to research. There are cases I've followed for like 15 years and learn something new from these vids. After speaking to multiple locals, I’ve learned that everyone has seen multiple spotting a of these hovering bright lights. The evening we saw them, we kept on hearing massive sounding thunder/ drum beats coming from the ground. We thought it was weird but didn’t focus on it but now I feel it’s more significant. We also felt we were being watched and interacted with.... our music would come off, no biggie, but it would suddenly turn back on at very significant moment like us saying “I love you, you’re my soulmate” and suddenly a song with lyrics “I love you you’re my soulmate” would come on! All night after seeing the lights! It’s worth mentioning, seeing the lights was super scary, but the vibe after that was very happy and full of love if that makes sense..... it’s the energy around us was being controlled. It’s was actually pretty amazing....
A year later, I was thinking about that event very intensely, and felt actually a bit sad that I might never see something like that again, I felt thankful that I got to experience it. Then, five minutes later, I saw a UFO, the same looking but smaller, right above me while driving on the highway!!!!!!
I have no explanation for these types of events but at this point, it feels silly to deny any of it.

This house is in my hometown and the typical Friday night thing to do was get drunk on Four Lokos and see if we could conjure any ghosts. It’d usually end with my friends and I just being teenage idiots and scaring ourselves but a few times we’d look back on pictures and videos we took and there’d be some huge unexplained orbs and strange shadows that made no sense given the lighting. One particular night we heard really loud guttural sounds that were almost like a mix of screams and growls. We all agreed to chalk it up to “coyotes” even though we knew that wasn’t it. We never went back after that night lol.

Or a fisher cat- those are also freaky sounding animals. Most likely not this but: when we moved into our house in backwoods Kentucky, the first night, my mom and I are sitting on the porch and we hear someone screaming- and then someone else screaming. My mom goes inside and grabs my dad and tells him it sounds like a woman is being murdered. He comes out and listens, and he agrees, there's definitely two distinct voices screaming, at different pitches, but it was going on for too long, and too sustained for that to be what it was, so we didn't need to worry about it and he went to bed...so we did too. The next day we met our new neighbors who were very casual about "oh by the way, did you hear something that sounds like some people being murdered? Don't worry about it, the neighbor has peacocks, and its mating season". Sure enough, a few days later we go to see all the peacocks on this abandoned house. I assume they were still be cared for, but it was wacky driving home every day and just seeing this clearly abandoned and beat to hell old house, with beautiful peacocks all over it, the roof, the grounds, etc. There was at least 18 of them.

Hi Steph! I know you're super busy, but this is kind of an urgent matter.
A few weeks ago you did a case on south africa, after which so many people commented about maybe you looking into farm murders.
Since then things have kind of gotten out of hand. Today (16 October) there is a hearing for the murderers of a 20 year old man called Brendin Horner. He was attacked on his way home one night (about two weeks ago), in his autopsy they saw that his hands were broken from fighting back. He was mutilated, and it was over kill.
He's one of so so many cases, and out government & president are covering it up.
I mean they've cut off parents achilles heals, and then forced them to watch as their babies are raped and tortured to death.
It's not just random crime. It's so violent and gruesome, that it's really scary. It's targeted to farmers and their workers, and it's people of all races not just white people like so many believe.
The news didn't report on this, but after everything that happened in Senekal (where Brendin's case takes place) that farmers near there woke up this week to ALL of their sheep dead, because their water was poisoned. These people lost thousands of innocent animals because they're finally standing up and want to see who murdered Brendin.
My dad also told me about a farmer that won his case of land repropriation without compensation, and the people who lost the case out of who knows what decided that burning down the farmers storages, home and other buildings, as well as cutting down one of the biggest macadamia farmers in our country. This farmer lost his entire livelihood, and now his land has lost so much of its value.
It's so bad that tonight on the news (they hardly ever report on farm murders) they reported that farmers are taking Krav Magar (israeli defence technique taught in the military) so that they could be able to protect themselves and their employees. Which is a good thing that they're taking their safety into their own hands because the police don't have the means to always respond quickly. Now the government is saying that not only are farm murders not real (untrue), they're also saying that they're monitoring the farmers for possible terrorist attacks. Like these people just want to live.
I know families that all sleep in the same room at night and lock themselves inside before the sun goes down just to protect themselves, while the parents each sleep with guns next to them. These people also can't leave their tractors, animals, vehicles or any other types of possessions outside because they will be stolen.
It would mean so much for our country if you could help raise awareness, because if this doesn't stop the agricultural sector of South Africa will die off and there will not be any fresh produce and our economy will fail.

I would not ever say someone else did not experience what they said they did. Even completely mentally ill people who hallucinate are experiencing what they think they are, even if others around them can't see it. I don't think the family is mentally ill, but I do think these cases are compounded by family members falling into a group hysteria easily. Especially with kids. But, my first thought as I listened was a fear cage. As a child of the same era, I remember even living in the city most houses still had porcelain tube and knob electrical systems, and our electricity would go out in any storm, or sometimes for no reason at all. The electrical setup of a house can produce all of the "creepy feelings" and even some visual and audio artifacts. Also, I would have worried about ground water, airborne toxins, and other environmental factors. The fact that it was in a sort of valley can also make auditory artifacts which have been scientifically proven to cause confusion and hallucinations. and all of the family should have maybe had a blood workup in case of physical contamination. I do believe we do not know everything about everything, and that different combinations of land topography, water, minerals and the like could possibly lead to an area conducive to "recordings" or visuals and audios of the past, as well as places where energies, whether spiritual or scientific may have a "good spot" to manifest. Spooky stuff so far, it's bringing me back to the less lit era of my childhood where there was not as much technology to watch over us!

Why anyone would continue living in that house after all this crap (or even after only half of it) is beyond me. By the time I'm looking up "exorcist" in the yellow page I'm OUT.

Money. If you don't got the money to move, you're screwed. I'm reminded of an exchange from a bad horror movie. Paraphrase mine.
*some dude*: "If their house is really haunted, why don't they just move out?"
*some lady*: "Not everyone's a Hollywood actor who can afford to have three different houses."

The first house I lived in when I left home was haunted, and there was lots of creepy activity going on. We stayed there for as long as we did because we didn’t have the money to get a better place.

For five years, I was a cemetery caretaker and gravedigger. In all the time which I spent at my former occupation, I never sensed anything paranormal. My job wasn't creepy -- it was honorable; and at times; very sad.

    • @juliaspoonie3627

I‘ve had quite a few „interactions“ with ghosts but never in a cemetery. If you think about it, it does make sense for regular cemeteries because we humans are connected to places we loved and lived in and of course people we loved but why would we have a connection to the place where our body rots? If someone was murdered though (or experienced similar trauma somewhere) then it would make sense that they are spiritually bound to the place where their body was left behind/buried.
I have the feeling that quantum physics could explain these things , that there really is a connection (or entanglement) between us, time and places. It would explain why some ghost sightings talk about repetitive behavior, like walking down the stairs, opening doors, even hurting others.
