    Such a good game. Backed it on Kickstarter and I've played it 3 times so far.

    this is an amazing game, gets me excited every time i play it. Yes, as others have pointed out, more cards means easier win. but sometimes u just dont draw any draw engines. which is fine too. u can still win by managing your hand, keeping in mind what u have in which round, and what u need to achieve next .

    Not exactly game related, but the fact that tech has progressed to the point where I can scan the qr codes on the screen is pretty crazy.

    The cardboard cards are made from recycled materials, so the cards could have been made from recycled plastic.
    Thanks for playthrough, now i know more and maybe learn it.

    Note: at 1:35:01 Niki should have moved demand down one when playing the card with pink tag. It was a bit confusing as there was a little backtracking but they missed out on one more little advantage.

    after hearing end game talk...never worry about discarding...there are a ton of helpful cards in the game....keep digging when you can...draw draw draw!

  • @mickbeast8371
    @mickbeast8371 7 месяцев назад +1

    Looked like at 44:53 they missed an opportunity to draw…you don’t need to wait until next round or global stage to draw since it was a local project …I spent too much time on Board Game Arena to get a 100 ELO on this game…it was addictive

    Finally realized that this game reminds me of Terraforming Mars, very similar, but no correlation between those two right?

      Yea

    • @Mircea0106
      @Mircea0106 2 месяца назад +4

      There is a correlation actually. In the About page of the Daybreak rulebook, they mentioned that Daybreak was inspired by other board games, among which Terraforming Mars is included.

    • @Mircea0106

      Cited from the About page of the rulebook: "Daybreak was inspired by our love of games like Wingspan, Terraforming Mars, and Race for the Galaxy."
      I got this from a physical copy of the rulebook. I'm assuming there might be a digital version of the rulebok, but i dont have a link for that atm.

    Dave is the King of co-op games and very good at explaining but like he said this is one after reading the rules to actually play rather than go through all the cards. If only Governments would work together as well as you three we might get somewhere, maybe they could all play this at COP29 in Baku!

    • @shaleyaregenherz
      @shaleyaregenherz 7 месяцев назад +4

      That's kind of a "problem" with the game, in that it suggests "if only governments would work together as well", because it is precisely because those governments' interests lie elsewhere, and have historically been located elsewhere, that we are in this mess; the game starts when the difficult part is already over, even though there are more difficulties ahead. Like poverty, climate change isn't a logistical problem; it's a political one, first and foremost.

  • @ThomasLiljeruhm

    Before I backed on Kickstarter I was a bit afraid that the game would be too preachy and boring, but it's actually both fun and very interesting.

      You cannot be “too preachy” about climate crises 😂

      @@jacforswear18You can if it turns people away. The importance of climate change isn't a factor there, but limits of what humans put up with are.

    A little ironic that after so much effort to produce the game with eco friendly components, that this copy has been subsequently sleeved with plastic, and played with plastic accessories rather than the supplied trays 😢

  • @Jarmo60
    @Jarmo60 19 дней назад

    ... by the way. How you can put all those pieces to that plastic box? I can't

  • @georgeresso6835
    @georgeresso6835 7 месяцев назад +4

    you need a card drawing engine to win...more cards you see more options...it mitigates the randomness

    It is a game that responds very much to the climate madness that is prevalent at the moment. But don't forget that desertfication already occurred at Catan Dawn of Humankind! What I mean to say is that changes in climate are not uncommon.

    A 30 minute rules teach for a 90 minute game, doesn't feel worth playing :D

      I definitely over-explained this one, partly because we were also gonna learn the cards along the way. So I wanted to make sure everything was 100% clear in advance.

      Game night always over explains by design for the video. It’s not going to be that long in reality.
