Pertronix makes an Epoxy Flamethrower Coil to avoid those oil ones , and the pertronix ignitor 3 distributor comes with a Rev limiter Under the Distributor cap , Theyre Good Stuff
My MSD coil will not even work with the ballast resistor. I had to jumper it. Basically did you what you did. I’ve never had an issue with it either. A friend of mine threw a fuse in line with his jumpers, extra paranoid I guess?
hi Blown Buget Garage love the vids keep up the good work had a question I have a classic 75 doge dart swinger with a slant 6 was wondering if you know how or why my car knocking when turning off car and shanks after it runs for a few min but it doesn't do it all the time
I’m not a slant six expert by any means. I know uncle Tony’s garage has posted videos about the slant. Only in-line 6s I’ve ever worked on is Chevy inlines.
what size exaust pipe and what mufflers mufflers do you got? I like the sound and want to copy it when I change the heads intake carb cam and put headers on my '77 w200 318 !! Heads are 302s litely ported and unshrouded.
I’ve bought a GM module for the XJ old jag she’s 84… it’s called AB14 Lucas named it… €97 VS €438 yo buy Lucas again … I bought same module you have pertronnix
Your coil doesn't get hot when you bypass the balance resistor cuz when I try that after driving the car for a while the coil get extremely hot and I have starting issues..
Thank you for responding any suggestions or maybe what I should do or try to figure out why the coil gets hot cuz I want to bypass the baluster and the voltage regulator believe in the wires hooked up like you have in your vehicle like I said after a while my car get real high I think I have the elderbrock coil high performance with a regular stock distributor..... I was watching some videos and was seeing if maybe purchasing a GM module will keep it from getting too hot so I can keep it 12 volts instead of it jumping from 12:00 to 9:00 with the balance resistor previously added. And I believe if I get rid of the voltage regulator it will eliminate some of the voltage droppage I'm still continuing to have with additional accessories in my car and aftermarket sounds.
There's two types of Flamethrower Coil one is oil filled and shouldn't be mounted horizontal it has to be standing upright and one is epoxy filled that one can be mounted horizontal make sure you got the epoxy filled one or it won't last long. I know what's wrong with your timing also but I'll I'll tell you what it is as I'm flying by you on the track lol 😆
Only thing wrong with my timing is I haven’t spent the time to bust out the light or vacuum gauge and dial it in. But If you think the fire is because it’s too retarded you’d be wrong 😉
thinking about getting the ignitor setup for our Dodge d700 Dumptruck that has the 361
Engine sounds good! I never pump the pedal while cranking. That's asking for a backfire. I give er 1-2 pumps and then crank. Great video!

You say it doesn't surprise you, but you sure looked surprised when that fire shot out the carb!LOL! Great video!
Yeah this is actually so true tho lol
good content, and comedy relief all in one.
Appreciate that 💪🏼
I installed the Ignitor 2 on my Crate Motor Sbc And its Niceee Love the Response
Looking good brother. Motor sounds very nice!! Excited to see the end product.
You and me both. It’s been a ton of work.
I did not realize the pertronix Flamethrower came with real FLAMES!! Great job car sounds great!
It’s mentioned in the fine print 🤣
I saw your soul leave your body for a second when that fire 🔥 hit. It was good to catch the burst on camera 👍🏼
You ain’t lying on that one 🤣
$5 says he peed just a little, too.
@@johnwilburn doesn’t everyone pee a little when they get excited or nah?

Definitely sounds like he’s a little paranoid lol
Great video Randall...
Thanks bud
Good Video! Look forward to the dragstrip video. Give her the laughing gas. Liquid tickle. Good Grounding n Wiring. Sounds Good. One step closer. 👍
Hopefully the first strip video will be in another month or two. Still have quite a bit of work left to go
extremely funny! just one question do you have a ignition module that can run on 12v and not fail! for it will not be the coil that fails!
Electronic ignition. It will hold up. Pertronix recommends the ballast resistor if using points, but anything else they say remove resistor.
@@BlownBudgetGarage give it time
By the way, I’m running a 66 fury with the 383.

I’m running 2.5” exhaust and I bought the cheap 2.5” center/center Blackhorse-racing single chamber mufflers off Amazon. $60 for a pair.
Did you change your shorts? LOL Good one Fireball.
Nah but I was definitely worried about my eyebrows lol

Thank you 💪🏼
Your coil doesn't get hot when you bypass the balance resistor cuz when I try that after driving the car for a while the coil get extremely hot and I have starting issues..
This coil is designed for a full 12 volts. It doesn’t get hot at all.

Me too lol
Holy cow you cut your hair. Or did you burn it off? Lol
Nah I cut it lol
@@BlownBudgetGarage looks good buddy! Car sounds great. So why do you have to bypass the ballast with that coil?
@@Dartfreak75 because these coils are internally resisted and need a full 12 volts
