    Back in 1967 when I was 16, I had to go to court for a speeding ticket. Back then there was a comedy show called Laugh In which had a standing gag that ended with 'Here come the Judge.' There was a lot of chatter in the courtroom which suddenly stopped when the judge walked in. Unfortunately, I said that classic phrase just as it got very silent. The judge glanced at me then proceeded with the docket. When my name came up, he looked at me and said, "Why you're a real little smarta$$. Take him away." I spent two nights and three days in the county jail - not juvie. Several things happened that day. I learned that: 1. It would be better to poke a bear in the nuts than screw with a judge in his/her courtroom. 2. You (or at least I) can't break handcuffs. 3. I never wanted to hear the sound of a cell door closing behind me again. 4. I'm not as funny as I think I am.

She is over it, but has no choice, but to sit there and listen to it like she does day in and day out. I listen to court all day throughout district all over the country and have never heard someone as petty as judge Brian. She generally makes a fair ruling, I will give her that, But I do not see her as a great judge because of her enthusiasm for drama and petty arguments. You get back what you put out and she seems to get more disrespect than any other court I have seen and I believe it is because of her demeanor. You never see people coming in to Judge Stevens court or Judge Fleischers court acting up because they are respectful and have established a reputation for dropping the hammer when someone is out of line.

    • @Flat_Stanley
      @Flat_Stanley Месяц назад +7

      @@Nutnboujee it is a horrible idea, but what makes her different is that where Judge Stevens might make a comment about inappropriate dress for court and encourage the person to dress more appropriately next time and move on. She turns it into a 20 minute argument. When someone rolls their eyes, Judge Stevens would take note and consider that in his decision, she latches onto it and argues about it and ultimately it does not play into her decision most of the time… kind of like in this case. The way she addresses things that may not be completely completely respectful, ends up, aggravating the situation and causing things to happen that probably would not have. Had she addressed it with a little little less “I am the queen” attitude/approach. She would make one of the worst police officers you have ever seen in your life. She has close to zero skills in de-escalation and only slightly more patience. The first time someone did not address her as Sergeant Queen on a jaywalking ticket, it would turn into an assault on law enforcement or worse because she does not know how to take the exit and let things cool off.

      You know, I remember watching a video OSG put up a long time back where Judge Simpson was holding court and this one woman was just painting away in her little cube while she waited for her case to be called. When he was done with her case, he asked to see her work. He complimented her on it and they had a little discussion about how he had been watching her the whole time, even when she was trying to choose between two different shades of green.
      She was clearly being attentive because she responded immediately when her case was called.
      With Simpson, it was a very human interaction. I guarantee, though, that Bryant would have stopped everything to yell at her about behaving appropriately because she's in court.
      The first couple videos I saw of Judge Bryant, I enjoyed. A bit of schadenfreude over jackasses getting steamrolled. Now, I've come to despise her because all she ever does is rant about what she considers to be appropriate. All I can picture is grandkids coming to visit and her making them sit on the couch while "grown people" talk, then yell at them if they dare to slouch or yawn because it's "rude."
