Dr. Amen, if you examine my brain scan taken 1 year and 8 months after a ruptured aneurysm and vasospasm, would you be able to identify any damaged or dead brain cells? The surgeon mentioned that I likely have some, but it's unclear how many cells are affected or which areas are involved. While the surgeon is pleased with the success of the surgery and the fact that I survived, I want to go further. My goal is to restore my brain function to its previous state.

I find it interesting you NEVER mention how opioids, CNS stimulants like Adderal, SSRIs like Zoloft and sleeping medications like Ambien affect your brain. I have a very hard time believing those are not as bad for the brain or worse than moderate alcohol and cannabis use.
I’ve been taking benzodiazepines for more than 10 years and that has affected my memory so badly and I’m only 32y/o.

So what you're telling me is I'm gonna get it regardless because I can't afford healthcare as it is so I can't really prevent much
You are your own health care. Eat foods that nourish your brain. Not damage it. Anything manufactured that is food is usually poison. Especially any diet sodas or diet energy drinks. Too much caffeine shrinks blood vessels to the brain. Try to use decaffinated alternatives that are organically decaffinated. Try to reduce stress levels in your life. A life style high in daily stress, just eats up the brain. Try to be as social as much as you can. People who socialize are much less likely to get dementia or alzhemiers. This last one is a tough sell for me because I am an introvert. But it is also a reason I will never retire. The challenge of having a job, getting up every day to get there, along with the lack of stress from having money coming in to pay bills, pays my health forward in three ways. The fourth way is that it forces me to interact with people everyday. Whatever it takes to make your life better in a healthy way. Do that. No healthcare and no doctor needed. You can do that.
