Thank you for this. I use gel plates.all the time but was looking for a larger one. This is ideal, I can now make one to fit my 305mm by 210mm sheets. Thank you again. This is soooooo needed as they are quite expensive for the extra large ones. Keep smiling 😊🌻
Way back when I started teaching (when ink gestetners were the only copying choice available) we used to make work stencils for a gelly plate and print them page by page into their books.
I could hardly hear what you were saying, even with my sound turned up....could you give detailed instructions as well as the ingredients please, that would help...thanks
I bought a baking sheet that was a bit bigger than the plate and store/left it on there. When I'm not using it I cover it with parchment paper. It can dry out over time but I found if you use it often it's less likely to happen
I did make two gel plates. I used Knox gelatin but they have an odor from the knox. Any recommendations? By they way these plate work really well. Thank you for sharing.
I've never noticed a smell really. Once they are made I'm not sure how you would remove it. Maybe next time you make them add a drop or 2 of essential oil....
It's really quite durable. I used the plates frequently (almost everyday)over the summer without issue. I stored them on small cookie sheets with the pans they were made in over them. Over the winter (I didn't really use them) one did get a little dry around the edges. I think it was because of lack of use and a dry winter house.
Hi! I buy the gelatin in a box of 4 packets. The net wt of the box is 28 grams. 1/2 cup of hot water is 118 grams. So a little mathing, 7 grams each packet, 354 grams of water. 😁.
it's funny, two yrs later, it's cheaper to get the plate commercially than to make it. rn, gelatin is ~$15, glycerin is ~$14 and a baking sheet is about $8. an 8 x 10 gelli plate is $25 on Amazon rt. makes me so sad.
No- gelatin isn’t vegan. The vegan version is made with Agar agar. I have yet to make an Agar plate- and I am vegan. Thru some research- the measurements are the same using Agar agar.
Okay, if no one else is telling you...it's the glycerin that you're starting with and then adding the gelatin to it. You keep saying 🙄 you're pouring the gelatin into the pan then adding the gelatin, lol. I think we get it though so thanks 😊
I can't stop laughing every time you said gelatin instead of glycerin, that happens a lot to me... hahaha... thanks for the video... good luck
Thanks for sharing! I will be making a small one tomorrow, and give it a try.

You're so welcome. I use the gelli plate a lot too. Being able to make them in the size and shape I want is so useful and fun. 😁

I will see how my plate comes out tomorrow morning. I’m so excited!
U can always lightly run a paper towel over the top of your finish product before it hardens to get rid of the bubbles
oh wow this is so awesome thank you for sharing
Thanks! And you're welcome! 😁
Thank you for this tutorial!
You're welcome!! ☺️
Thank you for posting this. I will make one as soon as I can get some glycerine
Just be aware that at one point I switch the words gelatin and glycerin.
Glycerine can be found with the cake making supplies in walmart
I made one these gellie plates it was so much fun to make and use
They are fun! One of my favorites!
Its therapeutic watching this
Thanks for the demo!
Why didnt you leave it in the jug to mix?

Great video how do you store them

Did you mean glycerin? Not gelatin…

@@mygreencauldron7916 I thought about that not sure how the e-oil will react? But experimenting is part of the game :) Ty
I think with the small amount it should be ok. Yes! This is a big experiment. One of the things I love about it
take a bit of copy paper/ typing paper and run it gently on the surface to move the bubbles to the edge.
Great idea!
Loved ur explanation. It was what i needed. Now let try to repeat.
Tell me how durable is this plate and how can we protect it.?

It is God that created the heavens and the earth :) give thanks to Him. 🙌
Hi you keep saying gelatine instead of glycerine. Just letting you know. Cheers C

No, these are made with Knox gelatin which is not vegan.

I had to look into it too. It would be fun to check out. ☺️

Oy! Isn't that the way! Lol! Sorry for the switch around. Luckily it's still understandable. Thank you. 😊
Did you mean glycerin when you actually said gelatine?
Oh my yes! I've been meaning to edit that. Thank you for the much needed reminder!
