Really liking this AR, got a Killing Wind+Golden Tricorn roll and it’s a beast in pvp. It forces me into a run and gun play style, one I don’t do often.
I got the same roll. I think it was one of the fixed rolls that was dropping.? Thing is beastly. Strange though golden tricorn isn't even listed as a possible perk on the foundry perk app options 😂

A lot of people saying The Riposte is the first of it's kind...technically yes....but no. There has always been another Lightweight AR, given it was a Green rarity, but it's actually always been pretty nasty to use too. I remember always dueling my buddy in private matches with it
I have REALLY been enjoying this gun and I WAS SO excited to see the random rolls come back after the fix. I have also been looking forward to your review specifically. I think you MAY have overlooked the beautiful synergy and completely passive bliss that is Tap + dynamic sway. From the juiced beginning, to the improved back end, these perks compliment each other well. They are the "hidden" PB&J of this gun in my opinion. Your roll may be ideal for you. This gun is a stat monster and it MAY have enough juice from the base gun alone to be usable and get you onto your l kill chains. However, for the average player, the passive perks may help them in more dueling scenarios and although this gun is a brawler, I have found that you can make it fight even the most meta picks if you are in the correct ranges as long as you can reign in the hail of bullets and land shots.
My first drop was full bore, Rico, tap the trigger and kill clip. Sucky reload masterwork but hey, tap the trigger makes this thing an absolute laser beam combined with fitted stock
The map and my refusal to swap to a scout almost made me give up on flawless for the first time in a while... Then I pulled this bad boy out and shot up to flawless. I will be using this until I get my 5/5 crimils.
I have this friend who was addicted to using auto rifles for years. Before the finap shape he always complained that Auto Rifles just aren’t as good as other weapons. He has mostly quit the game after playing the final shape. He is going to be so sad when I break the news about like 5 realllyyyy great auto rifles.

The first Riposte I got out of my placement series this season is a banger. Corkscrew rifling, high cal rounds, killing wind, kill clip, fitted stock and stability MW. Maybe not absolutely perfect, but it still slays. My only complaint is the old arc logic muzzle flash. Very distracting in a tense fight. They tone that down and I might have a problem ever taking this off in pvp lol
An off-topic rant: This is a brand new gun model. Looks lovely. In contrast, the raid weapons (except the sword i think) are all just your default green pulse rifle with half a body kit and scope on it. Dont get me wrong, as long as the raid weapon feels good in your hands (the pulse does so very much imo) i dont care much about the looks but i think those should have gotten the complete treatment like VoTD weapons.
Will give it a try for sure but as it stands I’m fully addicted to my ros arago with substance + onslaught. Think it might be the only 600 with this roll? It’s addictive. Kinda reminds me of rolling with dr nope in d1 except there marshmallows HURT. It’s a world drop and highly advised ppl to take a look at there roll before chunking it.

I have that same roll but with Fluted and Handling MW instead. It still holds the 3rd highest kill counter of all my weapons, and the highest for all my autos. It is way underrated
I’m not a pvp player but I’ve been diving in for this weapon mostly for a repulser brace destabilizing rounds but I’ve been holding onto several rolls I’ve gotten favorite so far being killing wind desperate measures

Got 700 kills on this roll, it is good but kinda forces you to not switch weapons or you lose the to the pain stacks. Worth using if it’s the best roll you’ve got tho, base weapon is fun to use
I've been waiting since D1 for this gun to come out I guess, I just never thought Bungiee would make a lightweight Auto, and not one that was this good anyways. I adore this thing and will be keeping my Killing Wind + Desperate Measures roll on my guardian at all times
I was lucky enough to get a 5/6 god roll on the first week it launched before the bug, even then the only perk (zen moment / desperate measures, fitted stock stability masterwork) I didnt really want desperate measures but then its not a bad perk or a wasted slot so i cant be mad about it
He didnt even mention Target Lock. It lowers the ttk of the weapon. Kill chain perks can be fun in 6v6 like Killing Wind and Kill Clip. For 3v3 id say Tap the Trigger or Zen Moment with Target Lock are probably the best options
Comp feels way better because the game modes are more casual. Clash and Control with all kinds of revives just makes for a simpler experience. Well worth getting the weapons and other drops.
Comp is garbage cause the spawns are Garbage. When you play competent players and the game gives them free advantages based on spawns the game feels as$. If you spawn me at an advantage I'm killing you 9/10, guess what it's not fun.
Comp feels better than 6v6 now, the chaos with all the Khvostovs and Red Deaths is just annoying. In Comp I've used crafted 4-tap Fang and it's been doing very nicely.

I reccomend trying a zen roll if you ever get the chance. If you still hate it oh well, but I found the reduced shake actually does help mitigate the flash.
It is bad ass I didn't like it at first recoil takes a second to get used to...... and the muzzle flash coming off the end of the barrel is a little crazy but after a game or 2 I've been digging it in pvp..... does some serious business once you get used to it
I have a Smallbore, High cal, Enlightened + Encore as well as an Extended, High cal, To the Pain + Kill Clip and between both I don't know what I enjoy more. The overall feel of the weapon you get with Enlightened and Encore proccing feels very nice but I do also like how much AA you're getting with To the Pain that doesn't run out unless you swap weapons and kill clip to drop the ttk to 0.67. Either way: It's a nice feeling gun. I haven't enjoyed using a void AR like this since Gnawing Hunger. Hope to get that Repulsor + Destabilize or Desperate Measures for PvE but for PvP, I think this replaced my 5/5 Elsies.
Hey TV… when you say that 6’s (i.e. Control) is unbalanced-which I agree with, as it mirrors my experience-and you say you personally know Bungie devs… and you’re one of their most valuable content creators… why don’t you lean on them to make 6’s a more balanced experience? It’s clear they’re using the absolute wrong metrics to balance lobbies, and it makes it awful for everyone. Personally, I can’t stand 3’s. I find it too stressful. I would play a lot more 6’s if they would make it less stressful/ more balanced.
Tap the trigger dynamic sway lets you lay on the trigger and hit ranges you have no business making. I recommend giving it a shot if you have it drop

Why is The Riposte not dropping for me after the 3rd comp game? Yes, I have completed my comp placement and the campaign. Still not dropping.
For me nothing, not even khvostov, has felt better than my The Last Breath with corkscrew, ricochet, KW, RF, and range masterwork.

I got the God roll on first drop. And just let it sit there. Don't have a desire to use it in any content. It just looks nice that's it.

Yes, until next season when they add it to the legacy focusing at shaxx, then you can focus depending on how high your rank is, 7 a week if ascendant.
