    Loved watching this video. I know the line well. When I was a kid my Dad was Stationmaster at Cobram, then at Kyabram. I dont know how many times we took this train to Strathmerton, and then changed trains to the rail motor for the trip to Cobram. Brings back memories. Thanks for posting.

    I grew up in Toc. In the 70's we would ride our horses across the bridge. There was one of those beautiful white railway gates on the north side of the bridge to block the road for the train to cross.
    My father's funeral was held at the station (he wasnt religious and was a train buff) and we sat on chairs on the platform for the ceremony. A train departed while we were there. We were covered in dust and diesel fumes and they blasted the horn all the way through the station. It was brilliant.

      Sounds very fitting for a send off for your father. I'm sure he would have loved it. 👍😀

    I always forget how far north Shepparton is and that Tocumwual is only about another 75 minutes. How much further do the tracks go though? I expected this video to end right at the very end but it looks like the track goes further. Now we just need Melbourne to Tocumuwal in one video

      The rails end not much further along. The standard gauge from the NSW side came in to the station on the other side of the platform but the standard gauge was closed many years ago. Glad you enjoyed the ride 👍 😀

    Hi mate, I think you’ve already put this up on ur channel as I saw it a while ago! It’s been there certainly for a while, unless u took it down again, polished it up & then re-uploaded it once more to ur channel perhaps?
    ☺ As always great vid! Cheers

    Driver, what are those little wire objects we sometimes see off to the side of the track? They look like something to stand on, but who would stand there...? (There's one at the 1:09:28 min. mark.)

    It it easier to become a Vline or Metro driver?

    • @driver667
      @driver667  5 месяцев назад +1

      I would guess Metro may be just a little easier to get a position purely because they may have more trainees than vline at any time. Watch the website of both Vline and Metro and apply when they open applications for trainee drivers. 👍😀
