I was grunt in the Marines from 2016-2020 and deployed to Iraq twice. Hopefully that’s enough
I'm not a professional but it should be
That fucking Storm trooper was life.
Did 4 years AD in the Marines, not in the infantry but have been looking for contracting jobs. Any help would be and is greatly appriciated
check out our website and blog and hopefully it starts to shed some light on how to get your foot in the door.
I have 9 years warehouse experience and was also a supervisor. would any jobs fit my discription?
You'd fit a lot of them. The military has programs for what they call "pre-positioned stock"... basically, forward based equipment, materials and vehicles. Obviously with the weather the way it is in the middle east, you can't just leave that stuff sitting around outside... so it's all put in (you guessed it) giant warehouses. So there is definitely a need for folks with a solid background in warehouse work.
I have 4 years active duty army as a 92A but received a felony after I separated (Honorably). Does that disqualify me? If not what’s the first step
Hey man I was wondering what your end game plan is with the contractor lifestyle? A lot of people have their kids take care of them in their end years. Im trying to figure this out now.
What if you do 4 years as a marine corps infantry? And possibly do work for a company such as academi?
You could, but honestly bro, my recommendation these days is for guys to use security as a way to get a foot in the door if they have to, but then try to pivot to other lines of work (intel, logistics, etc). The simple problem is, there's too many guys out there with trigger time and now all those guys are applying for static security positions. As there is a flood of qualified candidates, guess what's happening to the pay level? That's right... when the supply of anything goes through the roof, prices fall. Often in the military, you'll also have side-duties or 'other responsibilities'... use those... highlight them on your resume and try applying for jobs that are outside of just static security. Some security fields still pay well; i.e. Law Enforcement training, C-RAM, etc), but just your run of the mill static security guys aint earning what they used to. The smart move is to only go there if you have to, and to look to bridge over to something else at the earliest possible opportunity.
As always, best of luck...
What are the medical and dental exam requirements??
Where should I look? I’m a plumber but thinking about getting into an electrical apprenticeship.
Any thoughts on 90A 0-5 logistics or management jobs currently in demand?
I'm currently a correction officer with fives years of experience. What's on the company names I can apply to?
I have been trying to get locked into a job overseas but no luck as to who to go through. Any ideas?
What type of base or building complex do security contractors need to train (assuming I haven't already posted this
Any numbers to call or email?
Can u do field work in contracting after armed security? Does that count as a law enforement background??
Damn I would like to join but dont have network or know how to. Ex army, did 9 years, 1 tour in Kuwait/Iraq. 27 years old.
Please check out our website at OverseasContractorAcademy and then link off to the Military site. We just recently spent a lot of money and effort to redesign them and include a lot more content. We specialize in helping guys like you get jobs over there.
What’s the training like in Texas before u go to Kuwait?? From day 1 to day zero
We cover it in the course, but basically you'll be doing labs and health stuff one day, gear another, tons of briefings and then for fun at night... CBT's. Generally speaking, it aint a fun time.... but it's necessary to get where ya want to go. Like I said, we cover this in a lot of detail in the course, day by day stuff and how best to navigate it all.
hi, I have a few questions. one of which is will a juvenile record show up on a government background check? also I have no military or law enforcement background is that required to have a security type job overseas? I have a lot of experience with firearms and a background in mix martial arts, I train with a few ex military guys and I pick up on thing fairly fast. however non of them have done anything as a defense contractor. ... this is kind of my dream job and something I really want to do so any advice and information is extremely helpful.
In answer to your first question, probably not... they'd have to be looking deeper than the level you'd likely ever be applying for. In answer to your second question, we did a video called Do You Need Military Experience To Get A Contractor Job. Believe it or not, you'd be far better off looking for jobs outside of the security sector if you dont have specific prior military or law enforcement experience. Just being blunt. There's too many ex military and ex law enforcement guys out there in the market place for you to compete with. That said, you can sort mail cant you? Can you supervise a labor crew to pick up garbage? Those kinds of jobs are far easier to get and could provide you with the money you'd need to go study criminal justice or start chasing down whatever your dream is. Best of luck to ya...
Would a 19D (Cavalry Scout) in the U.S. Army carry the same “attractiveness” to a contractor as an 11 series (infantry)? I’m asking because these are the two MOS’s I’m looking at currently and want to know which one would carry over better into the contracting field. Anyone with experience got suggestions? Thanks!
Honestly? Neither. Do something that has an applicable skill to the real world. There is a very small market for for door-kickers and trigger pullers in the real world. See beyond the hype, my friend. if that is truly your calling, and you feel it in your soul, then by all means you should go for it. But you really should consider doing something that can lead to a career outside the military; medical, mechanical, electrical, etc. With the MOS's you provided, the only thing you'd be qualified for would be security work, which is a flooded field. Too many guys with trigger time from Iraq/Afg. They're lucky if they can make even $100K in the contracting world, which is less than a postal worker or MWR guy handing out poker chips. Seriously think through your decision, bro. Consider the long term path it will set you on. Best of luck...
Overseas Contractor Academy I’ve been offered an MOS as a 35N (signals intelligence analyst) I believe I’ll be pursuing that and eventually switching to 37F (psyops)
Both are hugely preferable to 19D or 11 series. That said, the downside of either is that they arent applicable to the real world. So it's a choice that leads to limited options. You can have nearly any career field you want as long as your ASVAB score is decent. Seriously, think about a possible post-military life. Where will your choice leave you? If you join and love the military and stay the rest of your life? Great. But odds are 83% against that. Only 17% of the people joining ever retire. So think about that before committing to a field.
Overseas Contractor Academy Hey man, another MOS I want your opinion on. 38B (civil affairs specialist)?
Hey! quick question just got an email from guarda for a secrurity post in kabul i got out with a general under honorable conditions for pattern of misconduct underage drinking (never on duty) no medical problems whatsoever no criminal record about 4k in credit card debt whatsoever got deployed to korea 11b and i have a knack for learning other language's do you think its worth my time and effort to try to get into this i yearn for it and it woude relly help my life please reply i need some advice thank you have a blessed day sir!
Also no mental health issues all evaluations where green when i got out
So would a background in LE & Corrections, with an Instructor cert get a high paying job?
Absolutely. You should check out program made specifically for LEO's. There's a big need for that, especially on DoS type contracts where we are training foreign Police forces & Corrections officers on rule of law. Hit us up on the website...
I have 13 years law enforcement. I was a training officer and FBI firearms instructor. I have been out for about 3 years, but seriously looking to get into overseas contracting. Any advise on where to start. Your vids are helpful but i still can't seem to track down a legit place to apply. Thanks for your help.

Yes, definitely. But obviously you need good experience and a clean background.

Can felons get an overseas job?
Generally not, sorry. Most countries in the middle east are getting very strict these days about who they will let come work there.
Overseas Contractor Academy does it make a difference if your felony was 15 years ago or so?
