- RavenEye Image Transmission System setup modes and settings. In this video, I go over all the different Raveneye Transmission system setups, the different modes, settings, and also do an Activetrack 3.0 test to see how well it works with the Raveneye Transmission System.
RavenEye transmits video while giving you remote control of camera parameters. Transmits 1080p video from up to 200 m (656 ft) away with a latency of just 60 ms.

I will
I have the rs3pro and the raven eye that I have does not have the passcode on it just the serial number or whatever that number is. Also I'm having trouble with active track. I try to highlight in green with my finger and it says "unable to identify please reselect" Why is it saying that. I'm in landscape mode…. I also don't have the ISO and shutter options on my phone screen like you do. How do you get that to work to happen? When I open my phone app to open raven eye it forces me to shut off blue tooth so I did that. Is that wrong?
You saved my life twice learning to use this gimbal! You speak very clearly and go to the point real fast, thank you so much!
You're welcome! I'm happy to hear you're learning to use the gimbal better :)
Thank you for this! Your tutorials for the RSC 2 have been way more helpful than the official DJI videos.
Glad to help! :)
Your video tutorials are leaps and bounds above everything else I've seen on RUclips. As someone with an RSC2, your videos have helped me immensely when it came to figuring out how to connect everything together.
This is the best full featured explainer about this on the entire internet. Excellent work! Thank you for sharing it.
I just bought an RSC2 as my first gimbal and your videos have been the absolute best out there at explaining the setup and features. Now I just have to decide if I should swap mine for the pro combo to get the extra toys. Tough decisions... 😂
I just ordered the RSC 2 and now want the Raveneye after seeing this. Great video, thanks.
Thank you so much, A year later but just bought DJI rsc2 Pro and was going crazy cos Raveneye would not work properly, just picture but not connected to gimbal, saw your video and had the USBC cable in the wrong port on the RavenEye😱 Working perfectly now 😍😍This video stopped me losing my mind🤣
I love how you covered every detail, even the ability to record video or take photos. I have come across products thats just monitor only and knowing this helps. Thank you!
One year later and I still refer to this video to set up my ronin and M50. Thanks!!
Truly saved my life for using raveneye with dji rsc 2! Thank you for sharing.
You're welcome! Happy shooting :)
Finally some specific video! I use this gimbal with M50 as well and yes i put the raven eye same position as you are. I was having some cable management problem before i watch your video but not anymore. Thanks for the video bro. Keep up the good work!
Hey man! GREAT EXPLANATION! concise and straight to the steps. I really don't know why people dislike your video. THANKS!!!!!
You are a life saver my good man. Been struggling to set the Raven Eye up for days. Searched everywhere for a decent guide and I was hitting a brick wall until I watched your video.
All running smoothly now (though I wish the M50 had the cable ports on the other side) Thank you!
I agree about the cable ports too! Thanks for watching Dave :)
Bought my Canon M50 last year, took delivery of the DJI RSC2 yesterday and RavenEye on order! Awesome tutorial. Thanks
That's awesome! Hope you're enjoying the setup :)
@@techbymidas Love the setup, will better once I have the RavenEye. Also changed the long base plate for the Smallrig version so I can use the Peak Design - Capture camera clip V3 base plate. Keep up the great work!
Hey man, just wanted to let you know your video saved me! I was having issues getting the raveneye to work together with the gimbal. Your video is the only one that solved the problem! 1000 times THANK YOU!
Glad I could help! Thank you for watching :)
I really appreciate your technical knowledge of the Raven Eye on the RSC2. Keep up the good vids man. 👍
You are awesome! Really helped me out. Even though there are more videos about the RSC2 and Raveneye, yours really helped!
i seen a couple of your videos lmao and you always in a good mood 😂😂😂😂
Hi is good video to understand the all things tnx again, I bought recently rsc pro but I have an issue with active tracking, I have a R5, all options r working good but after select a personal or subject gimbal is not track, is turn around randomly so today I contacted with DJI, I’m waiting to hear they reply ☺️
that very cool bro bt the modern canon camera connect app can be used insted of buying the raveneye ,bt the raveneye is little bit ahead compared to the camera connect app.but the both use the same principal theyv got wifi for image transmission
You gone have 1M subs in no time bro just watch 💪🏻😎
Thanks fam! Appreciate the vote of confidence 💪🏾🙏🏾🙌🏾
This is NUTS. I had no idea this was even a thing. Really good explanation of this.
Glad to be able to provide some info on it :)
respect from Shanghai , ur video is more useful than others. tks
Nicely done, thank you. Oh boy was i confused by the official docs. Now i get it, thank you. Greetinsg form germany.
great vid bro, was lost on using the new gimbal i bought but all your your vids have saved me
The best explanation about this gimbal, god bless u man
Glad it was helpful!
@@techbymidas thanks man, can i ask something more ? with external monitor we cant focus pull with touch right ? and with the raveneye yes, right ?
Man, I appreciate this video! I’ve learned so much about the RSC 2 combo thanks to your videos. But can you also teach us how to get biceps like yours bro? 🙌🏼
Thanks! That's why I like your videos: Short, concise, clear language (Swiss-German is my native language), limited to the most important information - high learning effect for me.
PS: Worked right on the first try!
Great video, quick explanations and still easy to get, go back and listen again again and again. Great guy.
This is sick! Your content is so helpful. I just got an rsc2 a week ago, arrived today. keep up the good work!
Awesome! I hope you're enjoying your new gimbal :)
Was finding the dji set up videos really frustrating and was feeling so disappointed with the Raveneye, and that I had taken so long to get hold of it... Now I am going to persist . Thanks for making things so much clearer (but DAMN you speak quickly... I was hoping you would break occasionally so that my brain could catch up - but no. you barely breathed) Going to grab a couple of espressos - maybe three - and check out your other content.
Fantastic video. Packed full of information. Love the genuine excitement at the open. Cause yeah, this thing is * cool.
dam bro you pumped, cant stop starring at those guns
Great tutorial. Really helped me a lot set this up!
Midas, this is so helpful, great explanation and you took my fears to use the weird cable setup on the Canon 😉👍
Happy to help buddy! 😉
thanks for these videos. This one, for sure, was better than the one made by DJI. They left out so much info -__-. So thanks for including clear instructions on what cable is needed and where they go
Glad it was helpful! Thank you Steven :)
Danke!
No thank you! :)
That was extremely helpful, Clear and straightforward, DjI should employ you, Many thanks
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for saying that :)
Very Great and Clear Explanation in all videos related to Gimbal which I learned by seeing ur Videos.. And I request make an video to learn Nikon z7 camera about how to take videos and photos perfectly
Great video!! Extremely helpful & straight to the point with clear explanation. About to pick up the Pro combo for my car channel😋
Thank you so much for the great video. Keep up the great work.
better than the dji tutorial. Thanks for the content.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching Eli :)
Thanks didn't even know it could be used without the gimbal
Thank you SO MUCH for this quick and thorough tutorial! Got my raven eye and focus motor connected to my Mark iii 5D. Something I couldn't do with the Ronin SC! I still haven't turned anything on yet... but I'm pretty stoked! Crossing my fingers while I charge these up!
Great video, to the point. I like the Active track feature myself. I set up my Ronin and focus it on my Jeep. I drive sections of trail, obstacles etc. and it makes it look like someone is standing there filming me. I intend on using the same feature on my drone (at the same time when safe), so the combination of my Sony a6600, DJI Mavic Air 2, Go Pro 9 Black and 360, it's like I have a whole film crew. Just started getting into it so I'm still editing since I'm enjoying the filming so much.
good Stuff Midas! Great tutorial.
Really well done video. My only wish is that you used a Sony a7siii in your setup. This camera is so complicated that a lot of the basic use and features for using this setup will not work unless you go into the menus and change a lot of the settings. My biggest question is that when using the Raveneye on the RSC2, how to you control the camera's focus tracking so that whatever the Raveneye is tracking is in focus?
Tha ks for the video! What phone do you use and how much latency it has?
just subscibed. loved this vid bro and the RSC video too!
I'm really happy to have you on board man! 🙌🏾
@@techbymidas 💪🏿💪🏿keep at it
Thank You. At last it works!!!😁
Anytime! Enjoy 🙂
Best walkthrough on setup I have found, thanks so much
You're very welcome! Thank you for watching :)
Great video and explanation is fantastic 👍🏻
can u tell me how to lock the object please because the active track always losing it
Thank you so much 👍🏼 awesome job.
Helpful as always, thank you and Happy Holidays!
Thanks for watching and happy holidays! :)
Brilliant tutorial! Very helpful! Many thanks 🙏
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching :)
This is so helpful! Thank you!!
So helpful. I have a Z7 and the included HDMI to HDMI cable is too short with the RavenEye positioned as DJI recommends. That's with the unit mounted antennas pointed away from the gimbal. But everything will connect fine if I mount the unit antennas aimed toward the gimbal. Haven't noticed that this causes any movement interference.
You are so cute to review this....very detailed infomation
Thank you :)
Great video!! Midas.....lost count of the amount of times you said..."DJI Transmission System".....BTW, I bought one because of your review.....DJI....please send more produces to Midas to review.....his videos work!!
Thanks! I appreciate the support 🙂
Thanks again for being quick and helpful. May I ask, in the other video you said tapping the front button once will start Active Track without a smartphone. You didn't mention that here. Did you get this to work?
Love your content!
Good video mate. How long we have to charge the Raven Eye.
OMG ! thank you a lot ! To much details
Great video, thank you sir. James. Uk 🇬🇧
Thanks for the detailed breakdown 🙌🏽
Glad it was helpful! :)
you saved me, thank you!
Awesome! thanks for sharing! has been very useful!!! well done!
I'm happy to hear that Navid! Thanks for watching 🙏🏾
great video. I have the rs3 pro. do you have to use your phone or tablet to use the tracking system, cant you use your camera thats connected to the raven eye and view it on the back of your camera.
thanks now work good my canon90D with raveneye and RSC2
I have an a6100 and an RSC2 my videos are bouncing a little, they are not as smooth as they should be, I did everything and it didn't work, can someone help me ????
Very informative video! Thank you, Jeremy.
Glad you enjoyed it Jeremy! Thanks for watching :)
Great video. Thank you so much!
Anytime! Thanks 🙂
Thanks for the video. How can I use the auto focus through the system?
I was so going to buy this then stumbled on your great video, then realised....I don't need this!
Nice video mate.
Just one question as you work with Canon. Is it possible for you to connect the RavenEye and still record video to the SD card of the camera.
This drives me crazy on my R6 with the RS2 as it is not recording while a hdmi device is connected to it
great Video Thank you So much
Hi Midas, thanks for all your videos, they've helped me tremendously! I still have one question which I cannot find the answer to. I want to use the RavenEye/iPhone to monitor my image, but I want to use the controls of the gimbal itself to steer and specifically start recording. This does not seem to work, if you connect all the control cables, the iPhone image goes black. Removing the control cable from SC2 to A7iii gives me my iPhone image back but that way I cannot use the camera control buttons on the gimbal. Do you know what needs to be done? Thanks so much!
How about that EOS M50 !? Those cords always seem to bother me, I think it will restrict some of the mobility. I’m thinking about purchasing the raven eye and this video was definitely helpful and Knowledgeable. Thanks
Appreciate the walkthrough!!!
Absolutely! Thank you for watching :)
Very informative video!
One quick question, does active track still works without the micro usb cable? (just the raveneye connected via hdmi)
Thanks for your clear tutorials and shortcuts on the RSC2. Can you clarify whether you can enter Active Track on the RSC2 by tapping the trigger? I heard you can only do this on the RS2 which has the built-in video display. To not always use the app is a big one for me which is making me even consider the pretty steep price increase of the RS2.
I have the rsc2 with the raveneye, and you can tap the trigger to activate active track. But I can only make my gimbal pan in active track, it will not tilt...
What's goin on my guy. I appreciate the content. I wanted to know if you can help with my balance. I have the exact setup as you do and am fully aware of how to balance the m50 with the gimbal but when adding the raveneye, it's very bottom heavy. How were you able to balance it with the raven on the bottom of the gimbal?
tnx brother for the help..
Thanks 🙏
Anytime! 🙂
Really helpful vids bro! Gonna do a video on the focus motor as well?
Edit: subbed 😎💪🏻
Thanks Frank. I wasn't sure how many people or if any one wanted to see a video on that so now I think I'll do one :)
@@techbymidas That would be great. I just ordered my rsc2 and a focus motor so a video on that would be very helpful. Highly appreciated!! Keep it up 💪🏻
i'm running into a hell of an issue here. i asked multiple people about this and got the thumbs up every time but something isn't right...i have a fuji xt4 with a sigma 18-35 on it. everyone said this gimbal ran that set up no problem....well assuming you use the base model without the raven eye or the focus motor. when setting up the focus motor system it makes the set up insanely more front heavy so the camera requires to be slid back further to balance it. now if the raven eye is connected to the bottom it can't balance, too front heavy no matter what. if i connect the raven eye to the top it can be balanced but the thing is completely in the way and runs into the motor on the back when the camera tilts. the ads for this say it's good on lenses up to 100mm so that implies much longer, heavier lenses that my sigma 18-35 working perfectly well with the provided set up which after hours and hours of messing around simply isn't true. to have the raven eye on the bottom in the cold shoe mount it's going to require i add mounting weights to the back which after the price of this and how it's advertised is ridiculous. i feel like i wasted my money on this thing i can't even use it as advertised.
Informative video only issue I’m having is I’ve got the m50 15-45mm lens and the rsc2
With that set up fully balanced my cables stick out too far from the camera and are adding strain on the connection
Basically are there any other cables you recommend getting?
Cheers buddy
Looking for that option too! I hate how the M50 was designed sometimes. I'll make a video on it as soon as I come across a solution.
Great review! Thanks
Absolutely! Thank you for watching :)
Amazing video
Thanks for the visit :)
@@techbymidas No problem
are you using a counterweight??? coz the weight of the raveneye affects the balance of the gimbal
Thank you for the video!!!
And thank you for watching! 🙏🏾
Great review
Thanks! :)
Been waiting for this. Thank you bro!
Just one thing, I use it with Sony a6400, connected well I can use active track and the Joystick. But when I click on record my camera screen turns off and I can just watch it throw my phone as a monitor. Did I do something wrong or did u face the same problem?. Thank u for ur amazing tutorial.
Thabks for watching brother 🙏🏾 Are you saying you can't watch on both your camera and phone at the same time when using the raveneye? Or that it won't even allow you to use the record function?
@@techbymidas Yes, I cant view my screen on my camera, when I click on record. Once I do it i turns blank and I can only view what i’m recording on my phone screen.
@@BavleoIQ Alright, I'm pretty sure that once your HDMI port is connected to anything, you can't see anything on the screen anymore as all video is no being transmitted elsewhere (i.e your phone in this case) :)
@@techbymidas I use Iphone 12 pro, also the stuff under ur phone screen ISO/Shutter etc. For me its N/A so I dont get these numbers on my phone screen.
@@BavleoIQ Do you have your multicamera cable connected? (It's the one that goes between the camera and the Raveneye)
Really tanks for the video 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻. One question, is possible, from the phone app, to control focus of the M50 (chose the kind of focus and the subject) AND track the object (the grren square). Tanks
I don't think you can access any of the tracking from the phone without the RavenEya system. With the RavenEye, you can control the focus from within the APP when connected to the system :)
@@techbymidas Ok 👍🏻 Tanks for the info 😊
At 5:00, You connected the Micro USB to the Power/Comm. Port, but as per the Raven Eye Manual, you need to connect it to the RSS Port. Please clarify.
Great review!! Straight to the point. Do you know a way to hyperlapse with active track and raveneye?
Thank you for watching! I haven't explored Hyperlapse with the Raven Eye System yet but I can look into that :)
Great video....the only problem I am having is when i disconnect bluetooth it seems to disconnect me from the gimbal if that make sense?
Good video! :^) I have a question, can I use the raven eye on my camera without de multicamera control cable? I mean, only to transmit video to my phone, not to control iso , shooter speed, etc..
My problem is that the DJI RSC2 doesn't include a multicamera control cable (Nikon UC E6 port) to my camera model; Nikon D7100. But it has a Mini HDMI port :D
