I came here too see that clip. I wont bother watching the video now
It's a *micro* cake!
Ah GO ON, GO ON, GO ON Go on go on!!!!!!! Have a sandwich- they are diagonal!!! Lol

+harry lonsdale cause all I asked was what that guy meant with 777.
Father Ted was the best documentary series about Ireland ever produced.
To-May-toe . Toe-mot-toe !
Erie lu1999 - Whoosh! Over the head and in the net! (Unless the comment was ironic). One of my sons is autistic and he failed to note that it was a documentary and thinks Father Ted triffik 🤪 PS: Pauline McLynn (Mrs Doyle) is a really nice looking bit of kit in real life! Who would’ve thought! I shall now feck aff!
Best Documentary,EVER

I think by now she's caught up with Mrs Doyle.
@DingoDooable DOCUMENTARY
She absolutely nails this character, an amazing bit of comedy acting.
its a dude in drag.
I was raised by my grandmother who was Irish and so much of Mrs. Doyle was in my grandmother. She was like this at the dinner table every day: “I’ve been slavin’ over a hot stove all day”. “Don’t let that food go a beggin’. “ My darling grandma.
I actually stopped halfway through to make a cup of tea, such are her persuasive powers.
Go on, Go on, Go on, Go on......
"There's nothing wrong with it that can't be fixed with a bit of you-know-what in the head department"
This advice has got me through my entire life.
jjdecani
That response look of father ted was such a mock tho lol
Still to this day I ponder what this means
She's annoyingly hilarious and thinks she is being helpful. Great character and greatly played. Love the series.
its a dude in drag.
You know well a show's good when at least one of their characters have 7 minutes worth of gold to remember.
Father Ted is real comedy history , it is right up there alongside Fawlty Towers, Blackadder, The Young Ones.
Red Dwarf :)
When comedy was comedy
dont forget only fools and horses, vicar of dibley, keeping up appearances and goodnight sweetheart
@@OverWims gimme gimme gimme
@@OverWims Early 80s OFAH was good but the rest aren’t in the same league.
When you have married into an Irish family, as I did (😱) you will quickly realise just how very accurate this all is - every character in it ! My sister in law even looks like Mrs Doyle 🤣
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I don’t make the tea but I would drink the tea 😂😂😂😂😂
Came here to say as a half Irish person, this is literally just how Irish women over a certain age are. I had a great aunt who took major offense if i didn't eat while at hers.
So agree! Presently had to detatch myself from the daughter-in-law, she's a feckn nutter
A visitor to a house I was visiting in Fermanagh, arrived at the door, sounded exactly like Mrs Doyle, even looked like her
@@felixhenson9926I was presented with strange pastry objects which had been formed on a filthy tabletop and showed all the dirt they had absorbed from it. The nutter mammy did the g'wan till I took it and secreted it in my pocket.it was promptly dumped in the airport as I escaped from that weird watery 'League of Gentleman's' place
Comedy gold.I think the bit where she falls off the window edge was priceless. 😀
Funny thing is - in real life she’s actually one hell of a looker. Like proper gorgeous. That’s how dedicated she was to the craft. Wonderful human being.
it shows sometimes, like at 2:13 for example. Story goes that she wasn't going to be cast precisely because she was too good looking for the part, but then she showed up with a nasty case of the flu, and the rest is history...
She is not gorgeous! I went to the same school as her, but I was a lot younger than her. Pauline was a good actress, and brilliant as Mrs. Doyle, but she was always an exceptionally plain - looking girl. Whoever wrote that comment lying that she was "gorgeous' "a looker," " goodlooking", was probably a friend of hers having a laugh. Look at Mrs.Doyle. Take away Mrs. Doyle's wart and give her long straight mousey brown hair, ( now grey and dyed) and that is exactly how Pauline McLynn looks.
@@lauraswann5543u mad sis?
How could you leave out out "Maybe I like the misery of making tea!", the cake jumper and the scene where she guesses Father Tod Unctious's name on the millionth try!!! And falling off the roof! There's too many haha
Graham Linehan is a genius, a lovely man who has brought laughter and happiness into so many homes. Bless you dear man!
Go on go on go on go on. Everyone’s Irish mammy in one character. Utterly love it.
This is by no means Mrs Doyle's best bits. It's just her tea bits. Which shows what a great character she is. Which shows what a great show it is.
How could you leave out the scene when misses Doyle and another woman are fighting each other other who would pay.
Angus Rhodes favourite Fr. Ted scene ever.....very accurate!
Honestly theres something in every episode lol
"Go on, go on, go on, go on, go on!" :D
Oh for fuck sake when she nearly chokes on a sandwich it kills me just thinking about that one lol
Fucking legend that lass!
She studied at the Abbey Theatre in Dublin, why she is such a professional actress, absolutely fantastic..
Can't have the best bits of Mrs Doyle without the swearing scene! Feck this, and feck that!...and then the REAL F word Father, you know the one I mean?! 😂😂
Bloody talented woman and anyone else of a certain age in the UK will remember when a little diagonal sandwich was considered posh 🤣
Why hasn't someone made a compilation of her falling off the roof or out the window and falling down the steps? Those were her best moments! 😂
I didn't know there was more than one bit like that. The one where she can't step down off the window ledge was hysterical. 😀
@@kevinrowe3936 There are many, each one funnier than the last. My favourite bits!
I think I watched this with my parents when I was early teens or so, its still very, genuinely, funny. A fecking classic.
Mrs Doyle - “And What do you say to a cup?”
Father Jack - “Feck off cup!”
😂❤️😂❤️😂❤️😂❤️😂
Father Jack is an absolute legend 👍🏻
Mrs Doyle is Gorgeous !!! I don't care any more, I'm gonna shout it from the rooftops !!!!!
Pauline McLynn - comedy genius. What a gem 😍
Where's the bit when she falls off the window sill?! Classic. And the one where Father Ted buys an automatic tea maker machine!
Maybe I LIKE the misery!
Best bit when she walked through with a tray for tea and completely missed the living room with those glasses on 😂
And there really should’ve been a falling compilation cuz that was also amazingly well done😆
Would you believe that actress was only 32 when this was made? I always thought she was 60 in real life.
she is hot as hell.
If you say so.
Yes 32, that's correct. Originally it was thought she was too young for the part but hair/makeup/clothes were styled to make her appear much older.
Yeah as msjoolz says, it was the hair/clothes that made her appear deceivingly allot older than what she rally was
She looks fecking younger now than in here lol wtf
Mrs Doyle was my favourite character. So adorably batty. So surreally delightful.
That sandwich test is my ultimate favorite part!! I laugh so hard, I cry!
Lovely Irish humour. Brings back such memories of being one the West of Ireland with my friends from nursing school
My parents call me Mrs. Doyle because whenever I ask my mom for a cup of tea, and she says I can, I always ask her if she wants one. And if she says no, I say "Are you sure?''
I loved this from the first episode; absolute comedic genius and my favourite sitcom of all time. And I am old!
Ah go on, like this video. Go on, go on, go on, go on, go on, go on...
Haha that made my day
rufio'smousse GO ON.
Go on on on on on on on on on on on on
You convinced me!
'Go on' repeated twenty times.
LOVE this show. I always watch when I'm feeling down. It cheers me right up.
"Unless I'm hallucinating from lack of sleep.... that's happened before." XD
YES!! ME TOO! Shivers I do hope you were able to access
Sorry, ~ hadn't finished,! The longest time for me was 8 (fekn nights) Woah. Ended up in hospital and apparently (with a police guard, can you believe...?!}) slept for 28 hours plus 4. You just gotta let it go, 'I need some sleep' you tube song. 😊😴
My Mum has Greek blood, and she is like this with food; she's practically a feeder!
My mom met the actress in the ladies' toilets once, her friend got her to sign a tampon box 😂
Pity the video doesn't include Mrs Doyle's joyful description of the drudgery of making tea, "the playful splash of the milk".
Mrs Doyle is one of the inspirations for my RUclips show. Love her.
You missed the one with the tea machine '' like a soldier standing up to a giant.. Cup of tea. ''
*Mrs Doyle:* "Would you like a cup of tea? Ha!"
*Father Jessup:* "No, we'd rather die of thirst".
*Mrs Doyle:* "Okay, so...
*Father Ted:* "Um...Mrs Doyle...I think Father Jessup was being a bit...uh, sarcastic.
*Mrs Doyle:* "What? Were you being sarcastic, father?
*Father Jessup:* "No, we want to die of thirst!"
GREAT COMEDY
Mrs Doyle... a brilliant invention from the inventive and talented mind of Pauline McLynn.
And Graham
The sandwich test at 03:57 is a brilliant piece of comedy, acting and subtle camera work
5:52 Absolutely the finest of Mrs Doyle. Thanks for sharing 😂
What a wonderful world it would be if there was more Mrs Doyle's around
I loved every episode. No way to choose a favourite.
One of the best character parts in a comedy series ever made. Classic GOLD!
She’s a proper and brilliant comedic actress. An awful lot are over rated and a consistent miss rather than hit. Mrs Doyle shows how it’s done.
Have a try... they're diagonal!
Just a fabulous woman she was! 'Ahh, go on, go on, go on'
watch more of these videos,go on,go on,go on,go on,go on!
I loved mrs Doyle lol she’s so funny
When you visit your relatives in Ireland. :)
I'm American and I had to have it explained to me that insisting is an actual thing in Ireland (obviously not as strongly as this) because it's typical to say "I don't need any" once out of modesty, and Mrs. Doyle's whole thing is making fun of that. My friend laughed at the thought that if she said no thank you in America, her host would just go "Oh okay" and drop it.
Not just Ireland. My English parents will ask if you want a cup of tea every 4 minutes until you leave or accept or drop dead...
Going back some years and I just explained it on another answer here, used to be as strong as this. Its all to do with old fashioned Irish hospitality. People didnt have much but by god.. they l feed you up. lol and saw it as a sacred duty.
No it isn't
And there's no scene on this where she fell out the window
Or off the roof
I love the scene where she fell through the window.
Absolutely hilarious.
I loooove it when she falls out the window.
And when she fell off the windowsill during the Christmas
Go on, go on, go on, go on. Just love her 😂😂
Pauline McLynn owned this part
Nobody can trump Mrs Doyle. She's the ultimate trickster 😄
rip father jack
and Bishop Len 2020.
@@MrDaiseymay he's still alive
Absolutely brilliant programme. Loved watching that.
Talk about peer pressure 😂😂
Ah, go on, go on, on....Who's for a deleted scenes and out-takes and bloopers reel for Father Ted!?! We all know you have it. We all want to see it....g'wan..go on...g'wan...
Father Ted makes up at least 40% of Ireland's GDP. They have to be careful just what they let the public see.
Yes I would LOVE a feckin cup o tea!
Tyler Blevins cup of* tea.
She's a dote! Such a sweetheart.
Watching this series I want to go to Ireland as am half Irish.I loss count the many times i been to such a fantastic country ireland that is lol.
Sam Holden feck off!
Good idea. Now,listen to me. Go to Galway city. Near shop street, there is a Supermac's. If you keep walking, you should find a long path downhill. I know it seems slightly dodgy, but just ignore your instincts. There is a garden shop (in case you like gardens) and a pottery shop. You should find a blue cafe called Goyas. Their lasagna is amazing,as are their fruit scones. That is all.
Cat Burrito I've been to shop street loads of times, never saw any supermacs
Cat Burrito Wow, great free advertisement
Obnoxious Otter The Supermacs isn’t _on_ Shop Street,it’s _near_ it.Across from the pub at the bottom of it.
Such a classic. Never fails to make me laugh
She is the best
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂she's brilliant!!!!!!
AS SOON as I saw Mrs. Doyle, or within a minute or two, realistically, I knew I was looking at a very cartoonish exaggeration of a character. And that there was a GORGEOUS and talented woman under that makeup.
Did Len find the rabbits? What did he say!!!! YOU ADDRESS ME BY MY PROPER TITLE YOU LITTLE BOLLOCKS!!!!
Len Brennan was hilarious...
If you watch carefully in the Bishop Brennan moment in this the actor playing him breaks character for a split second & almost, almost smiles :D
Poor Bishop Len died a few weeks ago, only Mrs Doyle left, of the main charactors.
She's my favorite character!
‘And what do you say to a cup... FECK OFF CUP’ was my nursery rhyme 😅😅
Man that house must use so much tea. And yes I'll take a cup, and a sandwich. And some brandy.
Bishop piggy in the middle 😀
TEA? FECK!
The broken tea cup made 9 accounts and disliked the video.
The haters are from Rugged Island
Yes, that's the residents of Rugged Island & Bishop Brennan hitting the dislike button. Probably Pat Mustard too.
So sad ted died 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
He's never truly gone; he lives on in every memory and every laugh.
And Jack😢😢
@@GeorgiaGeorgette that's a nice way of putting it, I remember it so well, they had just completed the last episode too 😢
About 20 years ago. Get a grip.
@@JWB86 feck off... Cup
I was watching an episode of Silent Witness last night and there was an Irish actress playing a care home supervisor. I kept racking my brain trying to think of where I’d seen her before. When I recognised her as Mrs Doyle it certainly ruined the sinister atmosphere as I could hardly stop myself from laughing! 😂
She is so me with tea and cake and food...then I get annoyed when people say no.....my husband says I’m a fat feeder.👵🏻😂
I agree. I think people can forget that when someone offers you something it's their pleasure and they will be disappointed if you refuse. Of course, if you have a 70% chance of dying that's fair enough 😂
Has anyone else noticed? That mole on her lip changes sides, and sometimes it's not even there lol
That joke about the sherry and Eurovision makes perfect sense. Back then Ireland won every other year
ZeldaGamer747 That’s what it was about they didn’t want to win think the winners have to host it the following year 😂
such a funny character! gr8 show too
How to break boundaries... Comedic, but how many people do you personally know who walk over your preferences, and won't take no for an answer...
Me mother
The scene with the jungle music playing 😂😂😂😂
"Father Mackey, will ya have a sandwich?" I Think that's some kind of revenge for ted.
And what do you say to a cup?
FECK OFF CUP
feck off lol
No I really shouldn't
He then throws the cup at her missing her head by inches
He loves his cup of tea!
Reminds me of the Irish priests coming out to the farm and singing songs while Mum played the piano and they drank Dads Scotch and Beer!
Ya will, ya will have a fukkin cuppa tea.😂
When he switches on the light and there she is with a tray full of tea, I jumped out of my skin also. I then laughed till it hurt!
this and fawlty towers is on the same level of greatness
I like it when she falls off the windowsill
Bishop piggy in the middle.
What about the episode where she argues with a friend in a cafe? They both insist on paying, to the point where they are rolling on the floor fighting, shouting "I'll pay". Then there is the teas-made that Ted buys for her; " You've made your last cup of tea in this house Mrs Doyle. It takes all the misery out of making tea". She replies "Maybe I LIKE the misery" and she later sabotages the machine!
0:44 You all came for this. Some of you might not know it yet, but you ALL came for this.
Mrs Doyle with Pat Mustard is my all time fav
Ride me sideways was another one!?
Positively my favorite. “The bad f-word, worse than feck. You know the one I mean.”
Best fecking comedy show ever
Something says Mrs Doyle is the mad version of Mrs Wilberforce from the 1955 Ealing comedy, The Ladykillers, a film Mr Lineham adapted for a stage play. I like to think so anyway,as both are brilliant.
