I’m U.S. myself. Father Ted gave me some of the best memories with my mom when I was younger. I still love this show. I actually just sent my mom that picture of Ted kicking Bishop Brennan up the arse as a happy Mother’s Day message lol

This really never gets old, everytime its on I watch it, regardless of how many times iv seen the episode, it seems to be like Christmas cake... The longer its around the better it gets, and I always laugh out loud at the punchline😂😂
I love how Dougal has no depth perception, i.e. faraway cows v. toy cows. Or the time he looked out the window with binoculars and saw a microscopic view of ants. 😂
Was lucky enough to see Dermot Morgan do Father Trendy, inspired by Father Brian D'Arcy, a media-friendly priest, in the Gaiety about 40 years ago. I'll never forget him descending from the pulpit to reveal spangly tights and start strumming a guitar. Father Ted was a creation a long time in gestation but my God what a creation!!
Father Ted is one of the best comedy ever. Not only irish. I'm italian and I love Ireland for Father Ted, drink and music. I'm sure everything is wonderfull there as well.
I would add the scene when Dougal didn't understand why someone would need hospitalization after being hit by lightning. He just got balloons sticken to him.

That was a funny line but in general I find the Dougal character unfunny. And apart from the Racist scenes all else I've seen of Father Ted is unfunny too.

This show and the IT Crowd are absolutely brilliant and if you ever get to see it “phone shop” by Channel 4 is superb especially the episode about “scuffins”
The small cows far away cows bit was the first one I saw, hilarious. It's where they're on a caravan holiday and bored silly, another amusement was having electric kettle races to see which one was faster 😀

Tentacles of Doom ("three bishops, all at once!") is by far the best, followed by Hell (the holiday) and Grant Unto him Eternal Rest (where Father Jack dies). Kicking Bishop Brennan and Speed 3 are the best out of Series 3 but nowhere near the quality of most of Series 1 and 2.

The credit must go to the writers Linehan and Mathews for producing such fantastic comedy scripts which have travelled well.
