    Welcome to our series of vlogs where we will be renovating our early 1960's converted bungalow in the beautiful Kent countryside. This renovation will involve a lot of #DIY as we do like to get stuck in however we are not professionals in any way so these are not tutorials 😂. From experience renovating previous properties we know that we learn from our mistakes and pick up new tips, tricks and skills along the way. This is not going to be a quick turn around, we'll be doing this over the course of the next few years so thank you for coming along for the journey, hopefully we'll still have all our limbs, fingers and toes intact by the end of it 🤞🏼

    ADVERTISING
    As content creation is our business and how we earn our living you will see advertising in our content from time to time in different forms:
    We are very selective about what brands we work with on paid/sponsored content creation and as a rule we don't work with any brand that we don't already or wouldn't spend our own money on. We are incredibly proud of all our brand partnership content and it will always be disclaimed in the most transparent way possible so you know exactly what is and 'AD'.
    Because we don't work with a large amount of brands on sponsored content we do rely on our RUclips ad revenue. Any adverts you watch during the duration of our videos will earn us a small percentage of 'ad revenue' from RUclips and we really appreciate you watching the adverts in full (and not skipping them), but only if and when you can. We also know that time is precious so no pressure.
    We also use 'Affiliate Links' in the description boxes below our videos and if you make a purchase via these links we will earn a small percentage of commission depending on the sale amount. Not all links are affiliate links but just assume they are
    Any items/links marked with '[AD - Pr products]' are products which have been 'gifted' from the respective brands without a contract for sponsored content. This is still classed as a form of advertising because nothing is ever "free", brands are gaining exposure to our audience by us featuring them, so these items are marked as 'AD' but we are under no obligation to feature these items. And as with our paid content, we never accept gifting/pr products from brands that we don't already or wouldn't spend our money on. If we have received a press discount on anything featured this will also be disclaimed.

    The utility room looks amazing. My only query - and I'm sure there will be a good reason for it as you and Simon are very considered in all that you do - is why the washing machine and tumble drier are right next to the door, especially as they're so close to your dining area?
    It's a pity they couldn't have been placed further into the room e.g. the bottom corner, so there's less noise from them and more room to move around them (rather than being right next to the doorway).
    The bespoke hanging rack is genius - but I'd still recommend a ceiling hung pulley, we have one in our utility room (also a modern house so ceilings not terribly high) and it's such a game changer.

    • @EmmaHill
      @EmmaHill  Год назад +3

      I did order a ceiling hung one but it arrived broken and then once I thought about it I preferred the idea of this anyway because I like a clean looking ceiling, weird I know 🤣
      With regards to the washer & dryer, I wouldn’t be doing laundry when we’d be using the dining table. I only do laundry during the day as I work from home so I have the flexibility to do that. Simon and I don’t use the table on a daily basis because we like to watch telly when eating our dinner so it really doesn’t affect us at all x

    It's so convenient to be able to hang puppy towels, leashes, and coats when they get wet. I wish I could do something similar to be more organized. Emma - you may be interested to know that in Korea the drying racks are suspended from above and are lowered to be used. It's great for small laundry rooms.

      Yes we call those ‘Lazy Sheila’s’ 🙊 I did order one which was quite expensive but it arrived broken so it was returned. Rather than spend the money again I decided to design this instead as I wanted to cover the access panels so it killed 2 birds with 1 stone.

      @sunskyemist Год назад

      @@EmmaHill Is Sheila related to Susan? 😆Seriously, I'm impressed you figured to turn a pants rack into a drying rack and to use a chain to create the 90 degree angle. Well done!
