Skid is one of my absolute favorite guest hosts. His combination of knowledge and great sense of humor is awesome!!! Please have him back soon!! ❤️👍🏽 🇺🇸
Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Gonky. Great episode, Mover and SKID.
SKID is a great stand in for Gonky , I bet he has some stories that would be great to hear ! Great show keep up the good work .. just wish it was earlier so I could watch it live in the UK 👌🏻
Hoover is one of the best, most serious and comprehensive presenters of GA accidents and what to learn from the little things that kill pilots in the hopes that it won't kill those who listen. He might be a good guest. Even if he is an old Eagle driver. Prayers and best wishes for Gonky. Whatever it is, I hope he makes it through the rough air.
Welcome back Mover and Skid. Sending positive vibes to Gonky
Great show again! All the best to Gonky and greetings from Bavaria!
Thanks Rob!
Best Wishes Gonky
Great show as always. All the best to Gonky
Blacksheep Squadron intro! Best ever
Great episode Mover and Skid!! Just a quick note on the engineers developing airplanes and automobiles. Been working in the automotive sector for a little over two years now and I can safely say that the engineers developing are aware of issues that maintainers (or mechanics) face and want to solve them but they get passed through into production because of the executives (or bureaucrats) and/or time constraints on the program.
Tales of the Gold Monkey had a good intro. I liked the theme music, and there were lots of in-flight shots of the Grumman Goose.
"Is that why there's no ejection seats in airliners?" Pilots "Oh no this is bad... see yah" the passengers all screaming, unless all have E seats too?
The Brits did it with the Vulcan Bomber. Pilots got ejection seats, the other 3 crew got a hatch and a “good luck sucker!”
Gonky what ever you are going through.. My thoughts are with you!!! Take care!
Great show...
I just hate you guys schedule the show at a time that is pretty much impossible for anyone outside the US timewise.. At least for Europe... . I'll watch it on replay but not the same.
Good vibes Gonky
Thank you for the support!!!
"brace brace brace", rings bell, "shame shame shame", rings bell
Sending positive vibes to Mover! Hope all will work out well
Laughing about your Brown Shoes. My Dad was an Airedale too, he just went out and bought some leather oxfords that lasted his entire career. Never buy that junk out of the uniform shop haha
Great job gentlemen,.. good job Skid. Welcome back Mover.
Secret Agent Man intro. My 60s are showing.
I’m in my 12 sortie for my PPL I am 34 years old and with 16 years as a professional chef, looking forward to become a comercial pilot (aerobatic/firefighter pilot for the best) and the section of doubts y’all just helped me a lot !!!! Good motivation thanks 🫡
Another great TV show intro: Call to Glory. 80s tv show with Craig T. Nelson as a U-2 driver (and a young Elisabeth Shue). Cool military-themed opening credits music, and neat shots of U-2s and SR-71 Blackbirds.
The lead character was a test pilot, so they had him flying all sorts of aircraft. It was basically about life at Edwards AFB. I do remember one episode where he wanted so badly to be back in combat that he volunteered and was assigned as a helicopter pilot in Vietnam. Didn't make much sense, but it was a TV show.
@@ypw510 thanks for the clarification. I was a little kid when it aired…about 7 years old…and apparently wasn’t paying too much attention to the plot. All I knew was it had a cool intro, and him flying some cool-looking jets. :)

I'm a bit older than you. I was barely in high school when it aired. I believe the first time I heard about it was during commercials during the summer Olympics.
I looked over the episode guide and it looks like in early episodes Col Sarnac was a reconnaissance pilot based out of Laughlin, but after a few episodes the series shifted to him being a test pilot based at Edwards. The one I remember was the one with a Japanese pilot sent to Edwards. They talked about possibly fighting against each other during WWII. They had to eject and I think the Japanese pilot died while waiting for SAR to find them.
@@ypw510 thanks for the additional info and recollections of one of the eps. Talking about the series is making me want to watch it again as an adult that can appreciate it beyond the flying scenes. Looking around though, it doesn’t look like it’s available to stream anywhere unfortunately.
Who gave Skid a Redbull
Never skip to the BBC Top Gear intro (Clarkson era)
The intro to M*A*S*H* is the best, both with visuals and music.
Luv to Alan Alda.
Airbus will hold the bank even when the stick goes back to neutral. Totally opposite of 787.
Even if you're in an unusual attitude?
@@behindthen0thing525 you have to not have normal flight control system function to even get into unusual attitudes.
@@blegi1245 so an airbus will not let you over bank ?
Finaly a new episode ❤
The 6 million dollar man is great.
MISSION IMPOSSILE INTRO!
January I'm flying on a 777 from lax to tpe. Not scared
I don't skip metalocalypse intro
Yeah, Mover, had a set of those Bates Low Quarters as well, heels started peeling apart, until I was walking on the bare soles. Tried Capps, but then found Thorogood. They do not pinch and are comfortable. IIRC Bates was censured for a time, in Clothing Sales due to their low quality shoes and their disintegrating heels.
SKID, as soon as the Air Force can get the Warthogs to DM, the faster they'll start crushing. They do NOT want anybody else proving how good the platform still is, as they've been pushing the "unsurvivable" nonsense for years, and the best way to do CAS is from 30,000 ft.
Loosing a tire is a first for me and now it has happend twice in a month. Blown tire sure, but it coming off the plane. WTF. This generation is not up to snuff and we are aware.
You think plane spotters are bad? You haven't met train spotters (foamers). They camp out at every rail yard with their tripods and livestreams to youtube and will setup a step-ladder and try to high five you when you're rolling a train into the yard.
Gonky is missed but still a great show.
+1 Six Million Dollar Man. Lifting body (M2F2) crash, etc
Larry Wilcox and Mover movie name? Mover 2: Electric Jet Boogaloo.
The Jay-Z track in the Gladiator II trailer threw me too….was Hans Zimmer busy? The score for the first one was incredible, and while I like Jay-Z and rap, having a modern track tied to the sequel was odd to put it mildly.
Maybe they're trying to match the vibe of A Knight's Tale.
yeah, when it comes to corporations, dollars are the only language they understand...
SEAL TEAM - because it's short. Everything else is skippable.
I only trust my doubts
that looks like a phoenix missile on the belly of that Tomcat, why would you need that in Afghanistan with no air threat. (1:42:03)
41:15 the guy narrating the original video is annoying. 😂
Airbus' have tons of problems too, but they are just crapping on Boeing. It is almost like they are getting paid to do it...hmmm. Another thought on the matter. If I'm in a plane and a door/plug blows out and the plane doesn't suffer a catostrophic failure and it makes the landing with passengers and crew all safe. That is a plane and design I trust.
Hh
No offense but skid needs to put the old restrictor plate on the lips.. the show was kinda clunky and some parts came across a bit cringeworthy
How so?
