Thank you so much for this video. As a child I was humiliated and belittled for counting on my fingers, my problems with math persisted with a continuing poor foundation in mathematics and incompetent teachers. Because of this, my mathematical abilities were stunted for decades. Lol, a man that I've never met in my life from a country I've only ever heard of is helping me undo 30 years worth of a mental blockage against math. smh
This is one of the best mental maths channel I have found...and the calmness with which you speak is cherry on the top....for this particular video..I think for us beginners it is first better to master addition till 99...and then go beyond it as this is the first time many of us must be hearing about this method
Thank you for explaining this. I have a very difficult time doing even basic mental math. I'm hoping this will help me and I can teach my children too!
wow ... Honestly at first I thought this is not going to work, but now I am absolutely astonished ... and learning this method didn´t even take that long! Thank you so much!!
It took a half-dozen attempts but I finally managed to calculate the last question to _876._ It does mangle your hands somewhat but, if you get used to it, it should be fairly useful. I'm increasingly annoyed I was never taught this in school.
I was wondering how this method worked, great explanation. Im glad the education systems around the world are moving more towards common sense solutions for teaching math. When i grew up in the 90s we were often forced to use less efficient methods for solving problems simply because thats how the textbook taught it or because its what worked best for the teacher. But everyone learns differently and sometimes a person could be great at math but poor at solving problems in a specific way. The goal should always be making sure the students get to the right answer regardless of how they got there (with the exception of using calculators of of course). Great video!
Teacher: "You there! Who are you communicating with? You're cheating! You've giving the answers to others with signs! Report to the principal's office immediately!"
Don’t try it in competitive exam brother…i tried it but in the rush I forgot which hand was representing 1-9 which was multiples of 10….in a nutshell you will mess up pretty badly😂

Get an actual abacus, watch the tutorials on how to use that. This will make perfect sense when you know how to use an abacus. And that’s all he’s doing here is turning his fingers into an abacus.
This was not a clickbait, i was surprised, schools in India teach vedic mathematics, which is pretty much useless, and you just forget it over time, but this method is memorable, since it involves using hand muscles which I think every other method most people heard about lack
You just got me hooked!,bro! I arrived at a quarter of the video and you already have me practicing counting ,with a steady beat, from one to a ninety nine.I guess a hundred is both fist closed, and there you go ! Thanx :)
Amazing video. You are a great teacher! The next step to gaining speed would be to just be able to visualize your hands in your mind so you don't even have to move or look at your hands. That way you are not held back by how long it takes to move your fingers and your eyes to process that information.
The problem with this method (for me 😅) is that in France, we always count 1 with the thumb, not the index finger… so relearning to lift and identify the thumb as 5 or 50 is pretty hard in itself.
I agree your voice is very calm and relaxing even though your accent is very thick but at no time did I not understand you or have to turn on closed caption so thank you!
Probably because pen and paper exists, also this doesn't help for multiplication, division and calculus. Basically, how will this help in finding x and y where: 4x + 9y = 11 2x - 3y = 3 ans: x = 2, y = 1/3 Or finding all roots for x² + 14x + 13 = 0 ans: x = -1 and -13 Sure, it'll help with addition and subtraction, though that's pretty primitive.
Please don't stop uploading this fast calculations tricks . Just upload new videos of tricks of calculating faster. Keep it up and cross 100k subs soon👌 .My all support is with you 👍👍
I prefer to do the calculations with my mind, but with this method I understood that it is easier to add and subtract 100 to 900, 10 to 90, and 1 to 9. example: 789 + 137 700 + 100 =800 89+37 = 100 (-20) & 10 (-1) + 30 & 7 800 + 100 = 900 30 + 10 = 40 - 20 = 20 7-1 = 8 total 928 I already know in my mind that 89 will be a 100 and a 10, so I immediately come to the solution that the total is around 900 just as that 30 has a +10 and a -20 and the only addition or subtraction I have to do is 7 -1
You can have this counting method if you apply for Math class program outside school. Anyway, thanks for the video. It’s 2.00 AM and I’m learning something new.

My age is 22 and I have difficulties in math problems and I came up by this video and it turns very helpful
Thank u so much sir
i’m very slow at simple math but this technique will make it so much easier for me to subtract and add once i get the hang of it! thank you
I like you say HELLO GENIUS at the starting of the video.
I really love math and always wanted to solve math problems by my fingers
So thank you very much for this helpful lesson ☺️
I hate math
I saw some kids doing this on RUclips. I’m 56 and so confused. So here I am to learn how.
I prefer to do the calculations with my mind, but with this method I understood that it is easier to add and subtract 100 to 900, 10 to 90, and 1 to 9.
example: 789 + 137
700 + 100 =800
89+37 = 100 (-20) & 10 (-1) + 30 & 7
800 + 100 = 900
30 + 10 = 40 - 20 = 20
7-1 = 8
total 928
I already know in my mind that 89 will be a 100 and a 10, so I immediately come to the solution that the total is around 900 just as that 30 has a +10 and a -20 and the only addition or subtraction I have to do is 7 -1
