- Why I’m on social media as a doctor:
1) Help improve public health literacy - it’s surprisingly low and this affects patient outcomes
2) Tackle the tide of misinformation which erodes trust in healthcare professionals
3) Make health more equitable - there are various biases in medicine which influenced patient care
I’ve done this across several thousand videos online over the last 4 years but how can I condense all the above and simplify it to provide actionable takeaways and non wanky advice?

@@DrKaran Hi Doctor Karan, I love your video & shorts. I just have one question though, could you please tell me why when I get my period, I also get really *BAD* diarrhoea.
I've ask 4 separate Dr's I've had over the years & every single one of them keeps giving me a variation of "I don't know" or "It's just something that happens to women don't worry about it."
I'd really like to find an answer so I can try & fix it if possible. I'm tired of having a non stop flowing 'chocolate river'. & being forced to run to the loo every five minutes when it's that time of the month.

Hello, I just finished a book by a very witty, British surgeon! Although I live in my body everyday, there's so much that I still don't know about it. Thank you for demystifying it for me. It's truly amazing what our bodies do everyday and we aren't even aware of it. Even typing this note, I'm using the senses of sight, sound, and touch (I don't typically taste or smell my keyboard). My brain is directing my thoughts and my fingers on one level while on another, I am unconsciously continuing to breathe and my heart keeps going without me needing to tell it to. Thanks from Canada for a very interesting book and I hope that there is a volume 2!

I can’t wait until this book is available in Canada in January! I previously lived in UK and worked with countless consultants both in the NHS and the RCSENG. Oh my goodness, the health service would be vastly improved if any of them were even a fraction as witty and humorous as you and equally as inquisitive and eager to be lifelong learners. Honestly, most of the ones who sit on surgical committees have had their sense of humour surgically removed Mr Rajan. 😮😂 You are a legend! Keep up the great work and don’t change!
FYI - For anyone reading this outside of the UK - Surgeons are typically addressed as Mr/Ms (or Prof if you’re a know-it-all) and medical physicians as “Dr”. Also, hospital physicians are referred to as consultants.

This is my story:-when i go to doctor i tell what everything every symptoms to past medical history back to 2 years , because what i learnt is past is history is must wgat we need for diagnose,we can't self diagnos or self treat ,for that i went to doctor,when i tell these they just say i am worrying too much its nothing,and just write vitamin supplements that i dont need , so i went different doctor i really asked to check test and it really become positive for the symptoms i am having this is what really happened to me
I haven't known your channel for that long, but in that span of time ive learned alot feom your stuff. You deliver information better than alot of other doctors on here, personally. Thank you for writing it❤
