  • So the plan is to finish all this in one year
    Please bear in mind one of those marines can sometimes take me a week!
    I want this done, it genuinely stresses me out knowing it’s all there and not finished.
    Anything left at the end goes to a channel member picked at random and if I do finish it all there will still be a prize to celebrate it being finished.
    Also as a member you’re name will be added to the city board (potentially in a battle report soon)
    And you’ll have access to member only posts
    If you’re not able to join just watching and subscribing is such a help to me and the channel.
    Thanks to all of you for the support

    Unfortunately the “join” button doesn’t show up on the iPhone app for some reason. It will be there if you use the desktop version though. Thanks to everyone for the support! Hopefully we can grow this into something big!

    Face- AND studio reveal in one video. Amazing! And what beautiful terrain you got there, love the cityscape with autumn trees.
    I'm sure you can manage that little ol' pile o' shame. You should see the size of mine xD
    Those marines would definitely look awesome in your own custom chapter colors

      Thank you! Yes they’d look great if they were all painted, unfortunately the marines take so long as I want them to look perfect. It took me a week to paint one heavy intercessor

    Always glad to see everyone else has the problem too 😅 I've got a tank somewhere I primed and then never finished and just can't seem to find the time anymore. Looking forward to seeing what you do with yours!

    On the topic of building mini's. I can find it very relaxing to do and sometimes it's okay that they don't get painted, because I already got something out of it. I know for some it is a chore or a means to an end (painting/gaming).

    • @rgbminiatures
      @rgbminiatures  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yes I find it relaxing too. I also especially like building kits with lots of options for customisation and posing too, trying to make the mini unique in some way. Thanks for watching!

    Hey bud. I started the year in a very similar position. I had 132 unbuilt/unpainted minis. I set myself a target of 33 minis per quarter. So far this year I have bought just 4 minis (stuff I needed for an AoS escalation league) and painted 66 of them, bring8ng me down to 70 remaining. Unsolicited advice? Pick the lowest hanging fruit first so you get a buzz having completed something. Maybe the tyranids?

    I rather think your motivation will fail. Not being negative but painting just to get it done makes the "work" a chore. At the moment I am working on Bolt Action Brits who were bought only two months ago. I have a squad of 10 almost complete with the remainder undercoated and two tanks primed. I also have 36 Paras primed and their pants painted in. (I'm also half way through a squad of Pzr Grenadiers which belong to my son. Five complete five pending shading and flesh done). I found out that light, a proper workstation and pain were my inhibitors. In fact the pain stopped a lot of things that I did not realise until it went away. But the first and primary motivator is the minds eye image of what those troops will look like.

    • @rgbminiatures
      @rgbminiatures  5 месяцев назад

      Yeah I know it could become a chore but I’m used to it from doing commission painting. I find painting my own things easier and more rewarding though so hopefully I’ll get able to stick to it. Sounds like you have a nice bolt action collection coming together there!

    I'll never understand why people have/end up with loads of unpainted minis. I buy a box, I paint a box. I run several armies, and not a single unpainted mini.

    • @rgbminiatures
      @rgbminiatures  6 месяцев назад +9

      It’s pretty easy to do. I pick up stuff when I can get it discounted such as big box sets or eBay and it builds up. I’m happy for you though, if you’re able to do that that’s great

      I think the fomo aspect plays into this, as a rest my feet on unopened Leviathon box. If I don't get it now, will I be able to get it later? Or stocking issues by GW, then it's there one day, then gone for 6 months. Or just money burning a hole in your pocket.
