I do the same thing, but with actual metal and it works great. I found that the magnetic sheets weren’t that strong, but hopefully those ones are!

Do they make ones with pre cut holes for say like the easy to build bases? Or would I have to cut out smaller holes?

Sadly this doesnt work for old miniatures with old bases (since the old GW bases are not flat on the inside)

The best chapter is always the one you create. Im painting my own chapter too and man, it feel completly diffrent when u immagine them on the battlefield or their lore.

Love warmag, if you actually compare the price to foam trays, citadel cases, they come up quite well. At RRP my FULL TAU ARMY fits in £200 worth of warmags. This sounds like a lot, but call that 5 crusade cases at £80 each and suddenyl its a better option.

These solutions, with magnetic sheets and stickers or magnets are good for storage only, in my opinion. For transportation or anything where the boxes can be bounced or struck there is a high probability of minis detaching and getting damaged. I had an extreme situation where a box like this fell from my hands to the floor and every mini in it detached and ended up piled up in a huge pile on the side of the box it fell on. Several minis ended up broken, and even more ended up with paint getting chipped in places. If this happened with a bag or box with foam trays or inserts, minis would just tumble inside the foam cells. Of course there is still chance that some minis would get damaged in foam cells, but not to the same level as what I described happened to me. I know this is an extreme situation and not something that should happen often, if at all, but it left me suspicious of using these solutions for anything but a storage, to protect the minis from the dust.

Any thoughts on how to deal with easy build bases? I have a lot of them especially from the leviathan box where they have multiple protruding holes underneath so I cant stick the magnet underneath. Here is an example from yours: 06:38

What Space Marine Chapter are you running?

Been using these on all my models for over a year. They’re a bit pricey, but well worth it because I hated using glue and magnets, too.

*Nitpicking.* The argument about little kids in the house versus the small magnets is... Weird. We're constantly cutting small pieces of plastic to glue them together and it doesn't bother you that you can lose those, but magnets (that are pretty easy to find with use of other magnets) actually do? If I had to pick an argument against them, it would totally be the fact how much time we have to spend to glue them under the bases. Anyway, those round things you used are actually pretty awesome and seem really easy and fast to use. Gotta buy some for my Aeldari

This is a cool idea which i may replicate some time in the future, but it's at least twice cheaper to just buy each thing needed for this setup separately and then assemble it the same way.

Ahh that's cool, I'm 100% going to get a batch of those for my mini's. I'm very new to the hobby and recent bought some balsa wood display box from Etsy to store them, but they are useless for transport. This solution looks great.

When I started watching I thought this was going to be just another tutorial video on really useful boxes and tiny magnets. When you indicated that you tried it and rejected it (for good reason) I gave you a thumbs up for doing something unexpected. This alternate system looks pretty neat. I'll give them a look. I would really like to see a solution for models based on solid bases, the ones that are not hollow on the bottom. I have a lot of those so magnet solutions are generally as much a fail as the foam solution. If I could do it over again... but were talking hundreds if not thousands of models. Anyway- GREAT VIDEO.

isnt the magnet meant to stick to the rim not the inside. is why their sizes they sell are perfect for all the base sizes, not 2mm less. plus when u have things inside the base like a pin or plastic edge from newer kits that does not work. but yes, is awesome product.

First video of yours I've seen, and I've subbed. Not only did I find the video itself very helpful (totally buying some Warmag boxes now!) but I absolutely love the paintjob and scheme you've done on those Space Marines!

How does Warmag suggest to handle the older-style 40mm bases that have all the little nubbin's underneath? Smaller magnets? Looks like an excellent product!

Cracking product. Buddy bought me some for my birthday. I’ve always green stuffed / superglued magnets onto baking trays, which works, but they don’t always stay stuck or stick too much when trying to remove the mini. These hold perfectly and are so much easier. Also, the off cuts are ideal to use on bigger models, so you get a lot of use out of a sheet!

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like this will work with models that have the round pegs that go through the bottom of the base... which is an awful lot of the models that I happen to have. Would still have to use individual rare earth magnets on those.

Does the magnetstrip fit 28mm slotted bases or the 40mm bases with holes in it? Or do we need to still cut them..

my i suggest to also use a luggage strap - that way you can carry 5 or 6 15L BOXES in one go

For the larger models, or models warmag doesn't sell specific sizes for, I found using the excess material you punch the magnets out of works really well for filling those bases and works well. Saving you money and preventing waste.

Haha when watched the magnet version for this a few months ago when I just finished a massive army, Said to myself that I really couldn’t be arsed anymore until I’ve seen this so I reckon I’ll have to buy this at some point! 👍🏻
