regarding the TSA requirements for cabin luggage at security checks, I want to add that the requirements in the US are usually much less restrictive than elsewhere in the world. In US I am mostly asked to take out laptop and large electronics. In most airports in Europe, be prepared to take out all smaller electronics too (all that is bigger than a phone) and also all recipients/bags containing liquids (no more than 100 ml/3.4 oz per bottle, but you can put up to 10 such recipients, including creams, shower gels, conditioner, water, etc. There is no need to buy travel sized, just use your regular one and put in small plastic recipients. I buy clear bags with zipper with 3-4 empty bottles of 100 ml or less each at Dollar Store or similar places. Also, never put spray deodorant (usually those have 150+ ml) inside or big aerosol sprays unless you have medical prescription on you). No one checks exactly the recipients' number, just that they do aren't larger than 100 ml. Put a clear bag in hubby's/partner's baggage too (even children's), this way you can get away with more creams and other super "necessary" crap :))
If you drove to the port can you leave your luggage in your room the last night and take it with you or do you have to put it out of your room the night before?
You can keep it with you IF you walk off the ship with all the luggage yourself ;-) Cruise lines have different names for this- self assist debarkation, walk off, etc.
You answered those questions so thoughtfully, yet so quickly. Very impressive--around the 25 minute mark, I started to marvel at your stamina. You know the saying "It's a marathon, not a sprint?" Well this was BOTH a marathon and a sprint. Always great videos on Cruise Tips TV!
Excellent live, as usual, CTTV crew! I wanted to tell you that your Yokohama vlog was so, so, so good! I watched it three times... two Premiers and one regular! I had never considered Japan 🇯🇵 as a destination; your vlogs and instagrams have been a real eye opener! ⛩
I was only able to listen into the livestream at the time, so I have 2 requests for what I’d like you to focus on this year: in-depth options for cruise ports, as far as how the ports feel and what excursions you would recommend. Also would love more info on the chef’s table experience as well as specialty dining options for the ships you have sailed. Thanks for a great 2018 and wishing you a blessed 2019 with exciting adventures and safe travels!!
I appreciate all the items you review and share and the professional way you do it. I know it takes a lot of your time to do the videos so I also appreciate your dedication. My nephew will be going on his first cruise this year and I'd like to know how you prepare Jr Ed for cruising. What dangers do you discuss? What bribes are given😉How do you develop the positive attitude for his comfort in the kid camps? Could you share a kids perspective of cruising? Thanks for all your hard work!
Thanks for the useful info and insight in this livestream. Also, your recent Yokohama video was great and has convinced us to take a Japan based cruise. During the livestream, you asked viewers to share their top 2 cruise perks. From experience, i would put excursion credits and specialty dining as my top 2. Both save money overall on the entire cruise experience and make for memorable events. We have tried the "freebie" drink package perk but find that it is cheaper to pay for individual drinks on board and at the cruise ports. This is because we drink a moderate amount in general. All the best in 2019!
HAL for Canada / New England is on our near future bucket list, hopefully a repo down to Ft. Lauderdale. So many exotic itineraries, I don't think we'll ever run out!
Laura Stout I went on this ship December of 2017, it is a much smaller and older carnival ship. Any cruise is definitely about what you make it but I would recommend checking some RUclips videos and downloading the layout of the ship to get a better idea of what all is has to offer. I enjoyed the ship but I will admit we went on it as a cost savings for the other couple going with us. Cozumel is amazing and I’m sure you’ll love it and the ship does have a lot to offer even with it being older. But definitely download the layout, it makes it easier to locate things.
Oh man I forgot ! My question was if we land in Victoria at 10 am what is a good time to set an excursion from the Empress Hotel to the Butchart Gardens? Thanks, Julie
I know Victoria well. The Empress is very close to the pier. A cab can do it from the pier in maybe 5 minutes, you could probably walk in an hour. LOL. Butchart will be about a 45 minute drive. If that’s all you want to do I’d rent a car. Easy to find and then you’re not stuck on a bus.
THANK YOU -- Mr. Cruise Tips. love your work
Love watching your channel

CruiseTipsTV thanks so much!
Congrats on 60K subscribers
Thanks so much 🙏🏻
I usually book short excursions up to 4 hours outside of the cruise line but if it’s longer then I book through the cruise line to feel safer.

Thank you so much! That makes us so happy!
I would like more information on single older cruisers please.
I would to, I have no one to cruise with, I am going to look into NCL they have solo studio rooms! Look it up on RUclips.
I’m watching the replay so perhaps this was covered but I did scuba diving in Grand Turk and it was awesome. I would dive there again
:)

Didn't Carnival just announce the other day that they're reinstating the free room service because of all of the backlash?
Well, sort of. They announced that they are temporarily rolling back the charges until they figure out a better plan. We shall see how this develops.

Sheri when/where have you had the best luck or is the best place to exchange currency? I’ve never had to do that before
Could you explain the prepay for drinks pop and alcohol?
doing the replay. Hi kids
HAL for Canada / New England is on our near future bucket list, hopefully a repo down to Ft. Lauderdale. So many exotic itineraries, I don't think we'll ever run out!
Hi doing carnival Fantasy feb 14th going to Cozumel. Someone told me the ship is a joke , what do you think

I love this channel but the live q&a are stressful because you talk to fast 😞.
Oh man I forgot ! My question was if we land in Victoria at 10 am what is a good time to set an excursion from the Empress Hotel to the Butchart Gardens? Thanks, Julie
Give yourself at least one hour to get off the ship and take a cab over to the Empress
Thanks Sheri. I thought maybe noon that way we’d have a buffer?
