- It has been such a joy to be a part of worship at @BrentwoodBaptist the past few years. The Lord has ministered to my heart so much over the years through this church and I’m so thankful for it. We have the assurance of Heaven even in times like this as a nation and as a world. Jesus gives us a story to tell and a song to sing-We share His glory and rest in His perfect love 🤍 I hope this encourages you today!

This is so pretty Hannah! I grew up in a very small town in Illinois, and my dad is the pastor of the church there. The songs we sang were all old hymns, and I’ve never seen a worship team make one sound modern. You guys did a great job! 👏🏻
The old hymns are much better than the modern "Hillsong" type songs. A lot of the old hymns were written by those who suffered hardship, stand the test of time and have timeless melodies and lyrics.
@@oot007 I agree there are some great hymns from history that are timeless and love singing them today. One of my favourites is Cornerstone (Hillsong) which is actually a 19th century hymn. But if you look at worship in the Bible, especially during the time of David. It was often exuberant with lots of different musicians playing, so the worship of today in a lot of churches is much closer to Biblical times, than the worship of a hundred or so years ago with an organ being the only instrument. But in both eras there are people that sing to the lord with all that they are, while others just go through the motions. So I don't think it is helpful to say one generation's music is better than another.
@@markdurdle7710 A big difference between the hymns of yesteryear to today's "Hillsong" hymns is the motive. The song writers of the classic hymns did not do it for money. Hillsong songwriters make a good living from it and sell cd's etc. Hillsong is a cult where the executives live off the Hillsong corporate credit card thanks to donations from the congregation. Google women youth leaders at Hillsong sexually assaulted by Hillsong staff and see how Hillsong responded.
Hillsong songwriters also tell their instagram followers "to embrace evolution because it is a fact". That pretty much tells you the substance of their songs and songwriters.
@@oot007 you are making generalisations about some people in an organisation and then assuming it applies to everyone in that organisation. I have listened to some of the Hillsong song writers talk about why/how they come up with some of their songs, and it is fairly obviously because of their love for Jesus/desire to glorify his name, plus reach the lost. Are there some bad people at hillsong, it wouldn’t surprise me. But to condemn all of them, plus a whole genre of music is just wrong.
@@markdurdle7710 I'm not condemning Hillsong followers but there is a clear problem with the LEADERSHIP at Hillsong from its founder to the senior executives and it's motives. Former employees in the accounts dept have gone on the record on televised interviews of Hillsong executives living off Hillsong Corporate credit cards, i.e congregation offerings are being used to fund Hillsong exec lifestyles, i.e 5 star hotels, fine dining restaurants, sports cars etc.
I've never head of a legit church giving it's leaders credit cards to live exorbitant lifestyles funded by church offerings.
No doubt you would aware that the Hillsong founder conceded his father was a paedo, the Hillsong preacher in the US was sacked for multiple adulteries and given a huge payout.
A Hillsong songwriter recently officially gave up his faith as well.
The sexual assault at Hillsong was swept under the carpet because the offender (who admitted assaulting the youth leader) was the son of the Marketing Exec at Hillsong.
You seriously think that organisation is inspired by God?
Keep your head in the sand if you think these are isolated events....

Absolutely love Hannah's voice here and of course I have always loved this song since hearing Elevation Worship perform it. But I have to agree that the 4/4 timing of the drums at the beginning of the song really threw me off and it somewhat ruins the flow of the music. I really love the way the drummer from Elevation Worship plays the drum part to this song. Huge love everyone ❤️
