Once the left main gear would come down the passengers would start to feel it as the struts have freely went down.

The fact that he let the wheels touch and spin to speed before putting the load of the plane on them is amazing, best landing i have seen.
What would happen if he/she didn't let it to touch and spin to speed, it would work anyway right ? Just curious

@@tb46475 Exactly, the spinning of the wheel would catchup in either way, even in usual plane landings the wheels eventually keep spinning to speed of the aircraft just as they touchdown. Irrespective of thier angle of landing. Now also every plane's landing angle is calculated to spread the planes weight equally.

One of the best Airline, I have travelled on Saudi Airlines from 1979 to 2015 and I love to travel on Saudi Airlines.
Always compliment the pilots on their landing, it's a simple, kind gesture.

@@Rommy456 exactly! I've just noticed in the dozens of times I've flown that giving them a simple compliment really makes them light up. I couldn't imagine the amount of responsibility the entire crew goes through, I'd be a nervous wreck having a couple hundred peoples lives in my hands.

I was traveling from Mumbai to Paris with Saudia. I had a layover in Jeddah. I have to say man, the pilot on the first leg (Mum-Jed) buttered the landing, I was so impressed, damn. The feeling of a smooth landing is something else.😃
I travelled 4-5 times in Saudia airlines. I can assure that, their pilots are very good in landing.
Saudi pilots some.of the best in the world by the way.... they go serious training..

And remember that landing 787's weight is about 250-300 tons with passengers and thier luggage.
Not sure if it was the same pilot, but I experienced a similar butter-smooth landing when flying Saudia. They certainly have some of the best pilots.

Pilots and Co- Pilots are the real Heroes. What I admire the most about them is their patience, tenacity and temperament to pull through in the worst conditions bringing hope even in the most hopeless situations. My first flying experience was nothing short of a nightmare when my plane had fallen into an air pocket unexpectedly putting all the passengers in a panick mode 😟

Last week i was travelled from uk to india. My flight was saudi airlines. That was connection through riyadh. From riyadh to kochi flight did super smooth landing.❤

been travelling to jeddah KSA twice a year since 1998 until 2011 which is one of the perks of my dad working for the airline company, and ngl, arab pilots are some of the best pilots in the world. there is once, I remembered landing and didnt even feel any shocks! best landing experience ever! thank you saudi arabian airlines!

Wow! That pilot could feel and hear the landing like mucle memory, the best landing in my 60 years of loving planes. 60 years and I never saw that before when the wheels were spinning before he let the plane hit the tarmac . Pure journeynan genius.
Smoothest landing I ever experienced was in fact on a Saudia 77W. We landed at RUH and I was waiting for the jolt, but there was none. It rather felt like one, long, never-ending flare, so much so I exclaimed, "That's it?!!"

They don't have a very good track record of landing in New York, though.
Jeddah is now wonderful, and there are events for the Jeddah season and the Riyadh season every day, and there are activities in the city of Jeddah, and today it rained

I had travelled in SAUDIA in my childhood they were very very comfort and safe.
Because while I was travelling the flight wheel had somewhat problem the pilot made an emergency break during Takeoff Run in Runway by those stop I was alive and another flight experience where can't feel that flight has landed that much smooth they landed ❤

Saudi arabian people are gifted when it comes to controlling vehicles and planes. Its raw talent. Something in the genes if you will.

Maybe the best landing, but also perfectly filmed. Great how the reverse thrust becomes visible through the wetness on the runway. And the turbine is open in the middle during the reverse thrust and is closed at the end of the video. Great shot!
