They absorb any moisture from a humid environment - I added the ground almonds to the cookies to replace 2 tbl cocoa in the original recipe. Feel free to use 2 tbl flour instead - Maple sugar recipe: shorturl.at/K0Rqo - Applesauce instructions; Stovetop: chop the apples into chunks and put in a saucepan with a splash of apple juice or water to prevent burning. Cover with a lid, and simmer until soft (the smaller the pieces, the less time). Microwave: cook in a covered dish, stirring every 5 minutes or so (usually takes around 15 minutes for me). Instant Pot: add to the Pot with some liquid, and pressure cook on high for 15-20 minutes (less if doing a natural vent)
