  • TOWNSHIP THREATENS FINE towards ELDERLY GRANDMA for Overgrown Yard, Who's Behind this?
This Elderly Grandma was contacted by the Township and they threatened to fine her if she didn't have her Overgrown Bushes cut. I stopped over and took care of the overgrowth then the unthinkable happened, the neighbors recognized me. Later on I found out who may have turned her in, wait until you hear this.

Thankyou Erik, and your crew for helping this elderly lady.. ..Is some real mean folk out there, with some false sense of authority, like the post lady.. Who does she think she is?? You did a fantstic job there, and i know she would be very greatful for all you have done. THANKYOU xx

I think both the township and the mailperson were out of line. The mailperson could have spoken to the homeowner, and would have found out she was elderly and she could have just encouraged the homeowner to get the hedges trimmed. She did not have to file a complaint against the homeowner. The township should have come out to the homeowner's house to assess the nature of the complaint and suggest how she could make her hedges neater, or options in lawn care companies. It would seem that people are too quick to cast judgement and think the worst of others before finding out the reasons for someone's behaviour (or in this case, a lack of upkeep). Humans, we need to do better by and for each other.

I'd file a complaint with the postmaster and on up the chain of command about the mail lady trying to be the ordinance police instead of just doing her job. Probably wouldn't do any good but I'd do it anyway.

Three are some many issues with what is happening now in our society. We seem to have lost a great deal of simple communication and compassion for and with others. Eric is an example of what people used to be, a neighbor/person that would be there to put away trash cans left by the curb, help if a dog got loose, look out for those who need help. There are people out there like Eric and we need to hear more about people like him. Stay well and thank you Eric.

It Might be a Height Limit similar to have some Towns/ Cities will only allow a certain Height fence in front yard. Like alot of Towns or Cities will have a Fence in Front yard of max of 3 or 4 feet. Anything Higher you can get fined and ordered to correct the Height or Remove the Fence. But it would also include Bushes and hedges as well.

I live in a small town too and here's what I still haven't been able to figure out. People like this elderly woman are being harassed about the height of her hedges and their yards. But you can look all around the town and see city property some of which the city has taken away from the owner. The grass, weeds along with all the other trash is hundreds times worst but no one says anything about that. Within a four block area less than a mile from my house are no less than 12 homes that have burned and should have been torn down two or three years ago. But because the city owns them absolutely nothing has been done. Kids play in and around these properties and have been injured but still nothing has done.

Maybe he or she could have come by on the weekend to help this woman? When I was growing up there would always be teenagers going around knocking on doors to ask if someone needed anything done. Like cut the grass etc. Aren't they out there anymore? My arms would have fallen off in the first 5 minutes Erik. You just kept plowing through like it was nothing! Great job!

It was her next door neighbor that knew her forever and knew she could barely walk. We confronted him and he tried to deny it. We said why didn’t you just come to us? Great job Eric, looks great.
My ex-neighbour was the laziest man I’ve ever known.
Here in the UK the pedestrian paths run flush with the edge of your property. He had a huge, thick hedge flush with the pavement.Honest to God it was about 15 foot high and hung out over the pathway by about one and a half feet. I’m 5’3” and had to duck to get past it.
He came storming to my house one day to say that the council had received complaints about it and said it was a hazard to the public and he had one week to cut it back or they would take action. He accused me of reporting him even though I had never complained to anyone about it.He supposedly had a back injury and couldn’t work so received Social Security Benefits every week. His wife worked in a very low paid job.He was shouting that he couldn’t afford to get it cut,and what he was going to do to the person who reported him when he found out who it was.He was a nasty piece of work. His wife confided in me one day that his back was fine and he was just milking the system for money because he was too lazy to get a job.(She’d finally had enough and was divorcing him,he used to knock her around too). After the divorce she told the Benefit people he was faking it.Apparently they put him under surveillance and caught him doing things he said he couldn’t because of his back. They stopped his benefits.(God takes His time but always punishes wrongdoers).
After a week the council visited him and said he either cut it back and paid a hefty fine,or they would remove the hedge completely and he’d have to pay them for removing it.He was incandescent but was forced to let them remove it and pay.
I later discovered from a close friend who worked for them that it was the Association for Guide Dogs for the Blind that had reported him as our road was one they used, and still do,to train blind people who had just been paired with a newly trained Guide dog,as it was quiet and safe as a “starter road” for them to get used to each other.
If only he had kept it cut back it wouldn’t have been a problem.Even people with strollers often had to walk in the road to avoid it hitting the child.
Why and when did so many people lose the sense of consideration for others?
I was so glad when she kicked him out.She is a lovely woman and the house was bequeathed to her when her parents passed.

Sounds like this whole town including the mail person are all Karens & Kevins they can’t even lift a finger to give this beautiful elderly person a helping hand. So very selfish full of themselves.😢
Thank you so much for helping this woman out. Excellent job.🎉❤😊
Far as I know this type of thing happened in my country.

That MAIL-Person needs to apologize for the way they handled this issue. So rude! Mean and impolite. At least meet the lady and APOLOGIZE!

I understand that sometimes the mailboxes may be hard to reach, BUT in this instance, I didn't notice the overgrown hedges were obstructing the mail delivery. We sometimes need to ask ourselves if their is anyway we can help mankind instead of being quick at complaining about an issue, we don't know if that homeowner had a hardship and had been unable to trim the hedges........Thank God we have people like you to help out, bless you❣️

You could have just trimmed around the mail box but you did everything. My mail lady said there wasn't enough room between my car and the tall bush. I'm able to walk through with the biggest waste garbage/recycle containers and they're huge so maybe she needs to go on a diet. People complain about everything these days.

You need new blades on that hedge trimmer. You shouldn’t have to struggle so much. You are such a kind, caring man. Don’t put so much stress on your arms and shoulders. Take care of yourself. Work smarter not harder. I enjoy your videos an worry about you sometimes.

I think the mail person that turned her into the Township should have just put a note in her mailbox. That was a pain the butt job though lol Government agencies are always good at being bullys. What do they care, they don't know the person. You did a good job.

That's a wonderful job and your remarkable person for helping people in need. I think it was very much out of character for the male person in a township. Knowing that she was not able to get out there and do it herselves. Maybe they should have taken a weekend and come out there and trimmed it for her for free. Shouldn't we be helping each other rather than complaining about each other trying to bring somebody down ..

I think they should have told the mail carrier to mind their own business and do their job because the home owner is elderly and handicapped!!!!!! And if it bothers the mail carrier then they should have fixed the problem themselves and shut up!!!!!!!!!!!!

I see that your gas powered trimmer sucks at cutting tall branches of those bushes, but your electric ones work excellently. You should just use the gas powered trimmer for the ending touch up. Also I think you should have just taken the cuttings away with you, those are just going to be a smokey mess when she tries to burn them.
I don't think you noticed the yard across the street as you were ending the video, but the grass at the road was really high. Maybe they could use your help too.

Hey Eric, Bizarre is an understatement! Has the Mail Lady got nothing better to do with her time? I think complaining about someone's bushes on their property, way out in the countryside, by the Mail Carrier is a bit PATHETIC. 🤨The Mail Lady was probably a "KAREN" with an overinflated sense of Self Importance & Superiority due to her having the Mail job - Prejudiced Power Tripping and Plain Harassment if you ask me - IMO.
What a Fabulous job you've done Eric. 🤩 The Hedges look Great!
Hopefully this will shut down that "Miserable Mail Karen" and the township can just back-off
from their Petty Harassment of this Homeowner.
