There is a brief moment when his mouth continues to move but no sound emerges. Deliberate and brilliant. A healthy society must have characters like this. This holds true for Irwin Corey as a person.
To do what he did for so long and with such panache is truly remarkable. (This is why I'm remarking about it now.) Whether a stadium or a small venue, "The Professor" ruled the room!
In one TV appearance, Professor Corey appears to be looking for his notes. He continues speaking, quickly opens her suit coat and reads the label, "Robert Hall", and continues speaking. It could have been on Merv Griffin, Mike Douglas or Steve Allen's show but that little detail was exquisite.
I remember the Double Talk act that Pat Paulson did as a politician running for office, it was so good that they changed the law because he actually got votes in the elections.

Whenever I listen to him, he reminds me of Nancy Pelosi.
