As a Kay/0 main In my experience I’ve found him to be the most useful on split. Darts are easy to throw from cover for consistent suppress and with the map being very sentinel heavy on comps it’s takes the hardest part of attacking out of the way giving you a much easier time
Agreed! I love playing Kay/O on split as well. Surprised we don't see him more in pro play TBH

I’m actually a Plat Kay/o main and personally I agree with basically all of these things, Kay/o is so underrated and if you learn how to use him with your team and can work well together, you’re team will be unstoppable

The reason I like Kay/o is because I can play valorant like it was CSGO. Which is a game I'm more familiar at. His flashes and Moli are like the flash and frag in CSGO.

I recently started to get into kayo. I'm originally a Skye main but I've been starting to use kayo on larger maps or when we already some sort of healer. The abilities are quite solid I think even for solo-queue. Great vid as it encourages me to use kayo even more now haha

I understand why kayo might be picked in bind cause of its small spaces and it's great with ascent cause of the small map but breeze sova is just better on breeze

honestly the best map for kayo is haven mostly defense because there is a spot where kayo can throw his knife and if it scans them they going A or B but if it doesn't then they are going C
I was actually pretty surprised from the fact that KAY/O was most used on Breeze, as I thought that was one of his weaker maps. KAY/O utilizes his spatial control a lot, because of the fact that he has abilities that can strip you off of your abilities. So because of this, I thought of KAY/O as a solid pick for Split and and Bind instead of Breeze and Ascent. Split and Bind are two of the best maps for KAY/O because of its tight corners. These corners allow KAY/O to really utilize his kit more, while also being a "Flex" type of character, because his ult has a much larger range that we might think. His ultimate has a range that (I think) completely covers A site Bind, so that alone can be a turning point for holding and entering site. KAY/O overall is one of the best counter characters for util heavy agents in this game as of the moment (KJ, Neon, Reyna, the enemies' KAY/O as well, and quite possibly Breach).
Well you're right about the fact that Kay/O is utilized best to strip your abilities, but you're looking at it from the wrong perspective IMO. In your eyes, he is used best as an anti-sentinel, where as pro teams look at him as an anti-Sova on the defensive side, because they can cancel out his drone, arguable the best piece of utility in the game. I am Skye main and I have been trying to play more Kayo on my rank games with mix results. I think that is a lot easier to get good usage of Skye utility than Kayo's. A lot of times you will knife and not surpress anyone or surpress an agent that doesnt need their abilities right away, while with Skye I feel like I always get something to work with, like clearing corners, finding traps/alarm bots, healing allies, etc. You also rarely get dmg from grenade, is very situational, or you just stall the enemy for a few seconds, which is nice on defending side. Overall in my experience Skye is more consistent, especially on the attacker side and the fact that her flashes refresh makes you use them more, getting better results (you have to be mindful with Kayo).
I agree with most of what you said! I you have to be very mindful with your timing when you play Kay/O (not just with knife, but with everything) than you do with Skye

@@GamingChairDiff that is not a good logic, Valorant ist not 1v1, is 5v5. On paper Kayo seems stronger, but actually hitting the knife in the right timing or missing makes him better or worse

I am Plat 3 and Kay/o ist my most used agent. And I think his molly is extremely strong and always good to have whereas the Skye heal can be situational and is useless in 1vX clutches. You just need to get the timing right and throw them in an unpredictable way to stall. You can for example bonk it against the left wall on A entrance from tree on Ascent and it will fly deeper which often gets me a kill on a droning Sova. And you just have to play sound to hit your knife and it is a really easy to use if u know some simple lineups.

What exactly do you mean by pick rate, how often they get picks or get picked ?
Exactly! So for the 41% pickrate on breeze, that means that ALL teams picked KAYO in their team comp 41% of the time on that map.
me and my friends are debating who's better between Kay/o and Skye. What does Kay/o have against Skye?
This is a really great question. In pro play, I'd say it's map dependent, but in ranked play, I'd say they're both A tier agents. It really comes down to preference, but I think Kay/O has a bit more upside.
In my opinion kayo has easier to use utility and more useful. Also Skye's heal isn't very useful while kayo has 3 useful abilities each round

Cypher was out of the meta for some time, but now that Chamber has been nerfed to one trip, I wouldn't be surprised for teams to start playing him more again! I'll make one if that proves to be true
