I didnt even know that we could pop off thrash mid jump, and this usually resulted in me missing most of the detains, because the thrash would just do a full jump and go past them instead. This actually makes it so much easier to detain people.Thanks for the tips!
a recent discovery i made on gekko, is that his wingman and thrash are great for baiting, in that sense that if you know someone is there and you use wingman normally, you can swing with your wingman and the enemy will look at your wingman. same thing with thrash, when you execute on a site or try to retake, make your teammate go in with thrash. the enemy has to pick one, and either way the outcome will be in your favour. a last tip is for when you use thrash, dont expect that you hit more than one, the aoe is kinda small, so always check for other enemies, and kill the detained guy last. when you detain somebody it takes them out of the game, so you can kill other enemies first. i remember when i started playing gekko i would rush after i ulted, and just die because usually someone is holding you.
Thrash kinda needs a bit of a rework in consistency in my opinion since often times you don’t detain someone unless you know exactly where they are and if you decide to you it for scouting 9/10 they shoot thrash down from a mile away. It’s probably just a me problem or idk if a lot of people also went through the same problems.
I have tip for you 1. Never use it too far from you 2. If you clear some angles send thrash towards you again so can pick it up 3. Use thrash after you use dizzy 4. Always right click then left click immediately to pop it mid air Hope it helps

you can reactivate the ult after pressing left click by left clicking again to pop it sooner
