It’s an ICON and it will never look outdated. And goven gas prices in the US I think it makes sense. And this car is not about acceleration its about Dolce vita and style. Gorgeous car!

    Thankyou! I am viewing a little fiat 500 sport today. It is my first car. I ideally wanted a fiat lounge but I am trying to understand the difference between a lounge which is older by a few years than the sport. My budget is best suited to a lounge and I like the older versions but I’m learning about the engines and their reliability. The one I am viewing today has had a cambelt, engine and radiator replaced so I’m not sure if I will get this one but I know what to look for

    Bought my '12 FIAT Sport in 2020 from a used car lot. 5 spd. Over the last four years I've been replacing wear & tear items. Namely a set of front tires, and a rebuild of all 4 corners with wheel bearings, and brake pads & rotors for the rear as well. It's all straight forward stuff, easy to work on. I've replaced all the fluids of the engine & transmission. Spark plugs, air filter, etc. And, as you said, they don't leak a drop. I'm at 137,xxx miles now.

    Great video. I have a 2012 Fiat 500 Sport with 111,000 miles. I had to replace/repair the electrical harness in the rear hatch which seems to be a design flaw. Also, I had an electrical starter cable which rusted and fail. Other then that, it’s been a great car.
    Does not burn oil and no fluid leaks. I am curious to know if you still have your 500 and if so how many miles you have on her. It’s sad to see that Fiat has left the USA. These small fuel sipping cars are needed more now than ever. Thank you!

    It certainly doesn't drive like a small car. That's for sure. We have a 1.2L and it is equally as reliable. Exactly the same as what the guy says. We use it in central Brussels a lot and I would say I found only one thing that is not so good. Those front pillars can hide a whole car and also pedestrians. Here at the zebra crossings people don't even bother looking and just cross. Luckily the speed limit is 20km/hr in the city and I haven't hit anything or anybody as you become 'tuned' to this kind of thing after a while. But I've seen it with other cars in front of me, so it might not be just a Fiat 500 thing. I would still buy another one though.

    • @perro0076
      @perro0076 7 месяцев назад +2

      @kostyafedot551 Hi. Yep, I still would recommend it as a commuting car. The 1.2L engine, though. We live just outside of Brussels. We use it as our wet weather car and switch to a convertible for the summer. We keep it well maintained and so far still driving really well. It's the manual gearbox, one down from the one with the touch screen. When we need a long trip car, we just rent one. For us, it's cheaper to live with 2 small cars than a big lump.

    Maintenance is key with this car. It looks like you stayed on top of everything. What about the timing belt? It's due to be changed.
    Ignore the orange TPMS light. Just get a tire pressure gauge and check the pressure once per month (recommended pressures are printed on the driver's door frame). You should have an air compressor and tire sealant machine under the driver's seat to top off the tire pressure.
    The broken door handle is a rite of passage! 😁

    Something definitely fishy. The vast majority of videos and comments on YT videos for Fiat are positive yet somehow Consumer Reports and other publications are always talking trash. I don't trust CR ratings anymore, there's no way of knowing if their readers actually own the products they rate and any ratings could be heavily biased against or for brands the reviewer likes, or dislikes. Fiat brand has been ruined by CR mostly.

    • @jimbob3030
      @jimbob3030 5 месяцев назад

      I think there were two main reasons for that, it said fiat on it and it was a Chrysler product. Neither brand has a good track record at all, not in the US.
      Maybe there was a third in that the price new was high for a cheaply made tiny car with a plastic and basic interior.
      Maybe a fourth as automatics are the most popular car in the US, but their auto transmissions were not good at all and should be avoided.
      Used they are great bang for the buck though, just stick to manual transmission and take good care of it.
