One of Dimash's idols is Lara Fabian. She also loves Dimash and has sung with him. I'm a huge francophile, and Lara is yet another reason to add to my love of all things French (I majored in French).! By the way, you can always try to auto-translate the CC from French to English. It doesn't work with every language, but at least gives you an idea of the song. I hope there's more Lara to come!

If you haven’t already, would love to see what you think of her song Broken Vow which is in English. The lyrics for Je suis malade are well worth checking with such lines as ‘you’ve deprived me of all my songs, you’ve drained me of all my words’ evoking the pain and emotion so accurately. ❤️🇬🇧
I found Lara before Dimash through “Broken Vow”. I still can’t listen to that one, years later, without sobbing.

Serge Lama is a french singer and composer, the song was written from his life experience. Lara sent him the soundtrac she prepared and then he asked her to meet him Paris. From that moment she was allowed to sing its own version. Both became good friends.

Also as another poster has already mentioned Lara Fabian has been an idol of democracy since he was a young child. If you really pay attention I'm sure you can hear her influence on his performances in the way that they both completely embody the song and express the emotions of the song through their performances.

Btw, Fil, I don't if you know this, But you can change any language CC into English if you're watching on a PC by going to the Settings > Subtitles > there is supposed to be an auto-translate option there. I love this and totally get why people are asking for English subtitles but there are people of many nations in the Fable sphere and Fil can't please everyone, does he have time to look for each particular video ? I'm thankful that we have such an awesome reaction channel here, I'm a Dimash addict ( love lara too) and happily listen to him singing native kazakh every day. I may not get the exact story of a song but I can certainly feel the emotional impact delivered by the singer, be it Dimash, Lara, So hyang etc, great music doesn't need words ... thanks again Fil, you are the best ...

What's impressive is the way she make you feel the emotions through the music and her expression, even if you don't understand the lyrics.

Maybe what you prefere in Lara is the intonation, all the different colour and atmosphere and the warmer voice than Celine that is very noisy and perhaps more focused by the technique. Celine Dion when you hear her you think: What a voice, what a technique, such power ! And Lara, you have all of this, but is more than that: she's a story teller, every word is felt and you feel them too.

I'm from Québec. Lara is a better singer, better tone. Much better. Her word pronunciation is top notch and in 7 languages or some absurd thing like that.

Uma língua nobre. Também temos influencias linguísticas dos judeus (sobretudo franceses e espanhóis) fugidos de toda a Europa, durante a Inquisição, encontrando refúgio em Portugal sob proteção do Rei D. Dinis...
Depois das rotas dos Descobrimentos no sec.XV, não é de estranhar que existam palavras PORTUGUESAS comuns ainda e até hoje inclusas no vocabulário de muitos povos às vezes com alterações fonéticas pois a escrita não era acessível ao povo: mesa (Japão), laranja e azeite (Marrocos e arábia Saudita), zebra (inglês), mosquito (inglês e espanhol), albatross, fetish ( é usado no inglês, que veio do francês mas a sua origem é do português "feitiço"), embarass (os espanhóis usam-na em outro significado, mas os ingleses vieram cá buscá-la para usar exatamente no seu contexto).
Palavras portuguesas usadas na língua espanhola : caramelo, alecrim, jangada, lancha, ostra, perca, (e mais umas 10).

No português temos muitas palavras francófonas, inglesas, espanholas, italianas, árabes (sobretudo o nome das localidades começadas por "AL" e até russas (tundra, mamute, matriosca)!!
Até à uns 25 anos atrás o ensino oficial escolar secundário obrigava a frequentar as disciplinas de francês no 5º e 6º anos escolar e inglês em simultâneo a partir do 7º ano até à Universidade. A partir dos anos 80' passou a ser obrigatório no ensino secundário a frequência de uma das duas línguas, tendo como opção frequentar também o alemão. Hoje em dia só é obrigatório frequentar uma delas, sendo já comum nos infantários com idades abaixo dos 6 anos de idade, o ensino de inglês e mandarim seguindo para o primário (1º, 2º, 3 e 4º ano).
Hoje, as gerações com mais de 40 anos de idade, todas frequentaram no ensino secundário , (do 5º ao 12º ano, obrigatoriamente francês e inglês.
França, considerada o berço da civilização, tinha o privilégio de a sua língua ser a mais internacional e oficialmente reconhecida culturalmente en todas as árias desde o ensino, arte, literatura, tecnologia, culinária, arquitetura, etc.
Depois devido ao desenvolvimento tecnológico, passou a ser o inglês. Hoje em dia devido ao desenvolvimento mercantil o mandarim está a tomar o seu lugar...
