Having moved way more than i want to, I'd say spend some money and get clear plastic totes. Nothing bigger than a desk side wastebasket. They make moving super easy, you can see into them, and for the most part, even with old mac peripherals you can't fill them full enough to be unliftable unless you're using like floppy drives or hard drives. When you're done moving, they nest within each other and they come in handy for all sorts of other things too. The next time you move(and you will), just use them again. I numbered mine so that I would know on the subsequent move how much additional stuff I had picked up based on how many more of them I needed to pick up from the store which is a good indication of maybe if you're taking too much!
