The best Mercedes Sprinter campervan conversion I have seen

- This Mercedes Sprinter campervan conversion has been built by friends of mine and will be available for purchase within a few weeks. The campervan is built on the 593cm long Sprinter chassis, it has been extended by a flare on the left side to enable a 190cm long width wise bed. The campervan is fully loaded with napa leather seating, Dometic air conditioning, two way Vitrifrigo fridge, Dometic oven and a horrible Nespresso 'coffee' machine. For such a small campervan the toilet and washroom has been well put together and comes with a roof vent - the electric plugs will be covered inside.

You are not bias, it is truly nice interior design.
What a fantastic, tasteful, conversion. All I’d do to that is add more PV panels, uprate the suspension for off-road and add a set of Black Rhino wheels. It’s beautiful. 👍🏼
Lovely van, but personally the lack of headroom to sit up in bed is off-putting. I wish designers would put deeper storage at the foot of the bed, and shallow/short/no lockers at the head end. Sitting up in bed with a book and a drink at the end of the day is an integral part of using our van, and becomes even more important in a layout like this with the small front lounge.
That`s really rather nice isn`t it! The banana storage is a particularly novel concept :D
Looking at that flair, great idea. Why not put something similar on the roof for extra headroom in the shower.
Some kit packed in a small van.
Great presentation as always.
In a way there is something for extra headroom in the shower with the skylight which protrudes above the roof!
I like the shower and toilet. This is the van for me.
I like the step up to the bed and the wood floors. Very smart built !
Absolutely one of the nicest ones I’ve seen.
That's nifty Alan. Newcastle Brown, lol. Width way bed is sensible. It's hot in the uk too, down South. Not so much in Yorkshire, I'm glad to say. Take care.
That is some great looking upholstery! Good looking build
Thanks!
The finishes are gorgeous. I do wonder if the flare interferes with the side-view mirror. Or maybe cameras provide the unobstructed view of traffic nowadays.
In my experience there is no problem Dana - it does not stick out that much!
"Doesnt have to be water " 🤣😂Excellent presentation - very impressive van.
Oh yes for sure one of the best conversions! Gorgeous!
It really is!
Really solid design, very well thought out for a small van.
Glad you like it!
very nice interior
Glad you like it!
Good video. You showed us how close your head was to the ceiling (in the bathroom), you should tell us how tall you are (for perspective)
I am 175cm!
Gorgeous Alan. I need all the windows offered in Hymer- i know one pays a steep price for thatI! Unfortunately I might be claustrophobic without those . Looking for a long stay sprinter, not just🎉 weekend camping. Otherwise would take this in a heartbeat. It’s lovely! Good job mate.
I sympathise with the problem about light Andrea. The advantage of a Sprinter campervan is the ease of use as it is so narrow. It comes with Mercedes quality but as it is not wide then it is going to be a bit dark inside. Maybe you should try a motorhome which will have more windows and be much brighter inside - but be wider too making it more difficult to drive.
@@VanlifewithAlan Yes- we are concerned about the difficulty driving anything larger than the sprinter van. Thanks for your feedback 🙋🏻♀️
Cans of Newcastle brown 😂😂😂 haven’t heard anyone mention that drink for years!
The very last time I saw a can of Newcastle Brown was a pile of them stacked on a pallet in Santa Barbara, California! But it will do as a commentary for people of my age and my background!
Nice finishes but arguably the most expensive part of a conversion is the electrical system and LiFePo4 is the standard . What happened here? A lead acid varta battery and that’s it? Perhaps there’s another one tucked away but this looks more like a van that’s always going to be at a campsite plugged in rather than by the lake for days..
One can take a LiFePO4 battery - that is a minor point. This is a prototype and batteries can easily be switched.
Same length as our Eriba but 3 x the cost and a lot less space. The thought of sitting on a car seat as your main relaxing seat just doesn't do it. In winter, if you open that side door you would freeze. Nice van though.
I think it worth pointing out that an Eriba does not come with an engine!
Beautiful van 😊😊😊 I find the side comments funny 😁😁😁
Great floor. From Zgierz. And its nice to learn language here too. :))
We have Hymer free S600. Same base van, similar layout but in my opinion much better use of space. What do you think?
love the interior, please tell who made what.
So I agree that its a beautiful conversion but for the money I'd rather get a van and build my own rather than get one I almost love. Conversion kits are readily available if you're not too skilled these days but it's all about having a go and enjoying the process lol.
It is a very nice van conversion, but personally I would prefer a small motorhome. For €85-90,000 you are in Wingamm territory and I would prefer a Wingamm to that myself. There are other small motorhomes as well of course. With the small motorhome you have vertical sides which brings a lot more space compared to the Sprinter with its very sloping sides. The body of the small motorhome has been designed to be a motorhome so you have sensible doors with openings the right size and shape for their purpose.
Obviously they appeal very much to you. I don’t think you’re wrong at all. The rest of us however like to know that we can convert the motor home to a totally different use in the future, hence the sprinter conversion.
Also, it doesn’t stick out as a home on first impressions
Good to hear you like a drop of Broon Ale
If that’s the best one you need to get out a bit more. AC power in the shower, cooking gas stored where? 12v outlet above the sink, battery with numerous dodgy connections and possibly undersized cables, and no bus on cabling, did not see any safety switch, external flair obstructs rear view mirror view which is a great advantage of the Sprinter.
I always want to watch your vids but they never show a clear, full length view of the interior. Could you show a few stills or one long shot?
Great features. We’ve similar flares on our self build. What’s the name of the sliding mosquito screen please? 👍
There are a number of manufacturers now including Horrex, Remis, Dometic and others!
@@VanlifewithAlan Thank you. We’re in the uk and ive only seen the Remis version for a ducato. Haven’t been able to find something this tidy. All of the ones that I’ve seen are ok, but very diy looking. This sliding door looks very smart👍
Beautiful I would of added solar panels
You get to a certain age and you need a proper bed that means a 7 metre fan. imho these small vans are for the kids
I have one and I’m not a kid.
The bed is too narrow?
I think it's all over the place small ...small storage over priced not a practical motorhome..... in my opinion....thanks for posting Alan this 1 just has no spark for me .....take care
Lovely van but for that price you could get a 6 berth motorhome.
Alan, what is that flooring? How is it called? Do you mind sharing a link? Thanks! Interior is really amazing, great job!
Unfortunately I can't give a link to the flooring as I don't know where to find it! But if I find out, I will publish it!
@@VanlifewithAlan Thanks, I really want to get the same for my van. Do you think it is marine vinyl flooring?
Yes nicely built van and good layout. I'd spec it without AC for more solar on top and the lithium like you mentioned. Would look extremely smart with some black alloys and AT tyres and giving the Hymer X-over a run for its money 👍
Bro u not afraid the coffee beans burn u in the comment section??🤣🤣
“Im somewhat BAAIYYAASED!”
Ok for a day van 👍
Bottles of Newcastle, not cans :)
Nice van. Like the way they got a transverse bed in and good use of space.
Have a sudden craving for a bottle of broon now.
Yes but what manufacturer is it please?
Alescamp.
Might sound like a silly question but, is this SWB or MWB?
There a few silly questions, only silly answers. The SWB is 527cm long and not suitable for campervans, this is the six metre version (or just under) and MWB.
Great van! Is that an electric oven combined microwave?
It is gas as I recall.
Beautiful. How much is it?
Around EUR85k.
If this is the best van you've ever seen... you must have never left your suburb before.
I wrote Mercedes Sprinter campervan.
@@VanlifewithAlan My apologies.
If this is the best Mercedes Benz Sprinter campervan you've ever seen... you must have never left your suburb before.😆
Alan. who is the manufacturer in poland
It is a small workshop in Grudziądz.
Permanent toilet/shower is a waste of good space. Hideaways give the same functionality but allows a more spacious feel to an already compact space.
What it’ the cost??
Best u have seen?? Think u need to look at mine on profile picture 😎😎😎
Not dissimilar to the Hymer Grand Canyon S, maybe a little less practical
I think this is more practical than the Hymer - and it is considerably cheaper!
Electric in the shower?
Most vans do have electric in the shower area, as stated this is a prototype and the protecting cover had not been added at the time of filming.
Thanks for your reply. It’s that it’s not what I would have. It’s a small space and if a hairdryer is plugged in, and you accidentally knock on the shower, you could be electrocuted; especially if connected to the mains or the inverter is producing 230V.
Nice but not as good as mine lol 👍🤓👍🍻🍻
like i would ever pay those numbers for a van conversion.
Check out Paradise Motorhomes Australia...... Their transformations make this thing look Old Fashioned...

What a crazy price for tiny cramped van
1:14 - "not very keen on the decor"? Wow! That was wildly unprofessional and rude to actually say; I'd have shoved out the door!
You clearly don't know what professional means.
not mentioning your hight...
175cm.
I thought you were going to show me something special! This van is a pretty average, bog standard layout conversion. Nothing to see here.
Nice van, but nothing special.
Just same old, same old! Done well but nothing new
Are you serious?
About what?
Booooring, absolut the same like 234,000 other Van - what is different, nothing. It`s only for weekend camper with person had many monay.
Better buy some russian van.
You won't get parts for it.
To small
In that case you need a bigger van.
@@VanlifewithAlan not good for your health living like that
Nice van Alan but at that price not for me, I much prefer the room a similar priced motorhome would provide. 🚍👍
Hi Alan..... Great video and love the van...👍
Question for you... what's the bed system ? The mattress ?
I think you said it was a German Company 🤔
Thanks In Advance
It is a Froli System which provides individual point-by-point support, which one would not get from an unsprung mattress, and also provides for good air circulation which hopefully would stop the build up of mould.
