- Indigo is the biggest airline in India, operating about 1500 flights every day. Recently they have ordered a total of 500 planes from Airbus, they also have another 500 planes yet to be delivered from their 2015 and 19 orders. they control 60 percent of domestic aviation in India and are ramping up international flights challenging its only major competitor Air India. currently dominates India by a massive difference and it looks like they are planning to dominate India in the coming future as well.

More than the low costs, Indigo is known for its superb on-time performance.
I have flown Indigo a few times and flights were always punctual.
yes they are best in business, something air india need to learn from them
Their flights also get delayed , however cancellations are rare
Wrong. Indigo is always before time. It is never on time. I have always reached the destination minimum 10 minutes before the time
I just don’t agree that. If you observe clearly, they fix the arrival time almost 40% extra -more than required flying v duration. The. They claim reached in time and make passengers happy. Secondlly, it is not good to have one company monopolizes the domestic air travel. There should be healthy competitions.
Having flown Indigo many times, I’m not surprised that they are so successful. A great budget airline!
I have worked with Indigo for 7 years from customer service to flight dispatch. I can confirm that this airlines will take over the globe in the next decade. Rahul Bhatia sir said in one of the meetings "I will be proud when I can travel anywhere in the globe from Indigo"
I don't doubt it. Indigo needs to break the monopoly of Emirates for the Indian Passenger market which will be huge
@@TheGecko213 not just EK, even QR and EY.
I wonder how Air India, in the Star Alliance with Turkish Airlines, took the news of the codeshare with IndiGo.
I feel in coming future three main airlines will exist in India
1.Indigo
2.Air India
3.Akasa
Spicejet also
Akash and SpiceJet won’t survive the competition
No one knows and cares about akasa air. It will bankrupt within 5 yrs. There will be two main company Air India and giant Indigo.
Akasa will.
@@vaibhavs.p3899 lol spicejet is doomed
Indigo has a good record when it comes to On time arrivals and departures. Also they have a better safety record fellow competitors.
That's great about indigo, ❤, I also traveled mostly by indigo, they are on time almost always
IndiGo is an On-time performance king 👑
*Indigo Will be world largest airlines* 💪🇮🇳💪🇮🇳
They also have one of the easiest cargo programs for domestic consignments wherein they ship parcels and small packets from courier companies. This is also a strategic move because people don't carry as much luggage for short haul flights, and most of the empty space is monetised.
I think even this ordered 500 by indigo and 500 by air India is not enough to meet growing demand. It's only a tip of an iceberg order😀because such a strong flow of middle class to travel by air
Shatap
Middle class who survive on jobs given by American IT companies.. One day they decide to shift to Philippines or Mexico , Indias middle class will become POOR overnight
At least the main cities of India shall be linked with high speed trains
I doubt it. I have not seen any projected demand. Seems more like favors to Boeing and Airbus and banks by the new CEOs.
Indians are not that rich though.
Indians have a culture of frugality.
Even rich people don't miss a good deal.
Majority in India still travels via train.
So indigo focus on punctuality over fancy upholstery.
Majority of indigo passengers are first time flyers and they actually trained their staff accordingly.
Having an entire fleet of one type of planes is good for keeping running costs low
India is a growth powerhouse. I absolutely love it. So many investment opportunities.
Wow.. what a nicely explained video..
Very great video with professionaly presented facts
Many dont even realize most aircrafts on the order are meant to replace the older A320 which were placed on 2005 and 2011. And some of them might even replace 2014 ordered aircrafts. Meaning IndiGo has created a cyclic chain where it plans to phase out older gen aircrafts after every decade. IndiGo has good system going.
EXACTLY, Everyone is losing their minds over their 1000+ order book , whereas on the contrary it is just a cyclic replacement. They need to keep their fleet young and efficient. They will have atmost 300-500 planes at any point of time over next decade.
This was informative :)
The Indigo livery on the Boeing 777 looks sick.
Being a regular domestic traveller... My preference for Indigo is only because of on time performance... Lowest cancellation or delay compared to others in the market
Same Plane lower operational costs like crazy for maintenance and training, very good move and it’s a fantastic reliable airplanes too
Bruh, I am sitting here in Agra, and seeing you mention Agra, startled me, good stuff!
I always love Indigo ❤
Good reasearch
Reliability of Indigo is also superb.
Good price and hasle free. Takes you from A to B on time.
We in India have more travel time tolerance. We would go 6 to 12 hours without food or entertainment.
Great success story! I have a nice experience flying with IndiGo from Istambul to Mumbai on my channel.
Wonder how the aviation industry would look like in 2050! or 2070! New designs, fuels, technologies, ..... Unimaginable today.
Manufacturing a plane is dominance
On time, hassle free and no fuss... India's national airline
Anyone know if they’re a point to point like WN or hub to hub system?
Hub to hub
Point to point
Point to point I think
It just perplexes me how the other carriers missed this. Like, you KNOW a large number of people cannot afford high ticket prices so why wouldn’t you do the opposite
@@locoHAWAIIANkane Business travelers account for a huge proportion of legacy airline profits. Most low cost carriers fold rather quickly.
Unless Indigo does not fix its customer service issues , it will also collapse at some point
Air india also order 480planes and other airlines too 😊
500 planes is not only a big order for India, but one of the biggest in the world. Don't downplay Desi's achievements ❤
There is marginal difference now between Low cost and Full service carrier in terms of price, if I am getting good meals by adding 300 or 500 extra, also excellent service from full service carrier, I will prefer Vistara/Air India then Indigo, where the staff is rude, not courteous, and bad seats. Indigo is famous for rude staff, bad and tasteless meals, which are over priced.
See the main thing about Indigo is it covers tier 2 and tier 3 cities very well. Vistara lacks there. So that's the scenario now.
Agree! It's the worst airline I've flown in - right from the check in to baggage to service!
akasa on the way
I THINK THE INDIGO IS GOING TO DOMINATE ALL THE AIRLINES IN INDIA HAHAHA
already is lol
What i see... once air india come backs things are going to change in Aviation industry..... indian passengers are looking for best rate with quality of service. Not low cost flight with bad service.
Indians & NRIs must prefer indian company flights over international even if they cost 500-1000₹ more.
Small sacrifices lead to great achievement for the nation.
yup i understood....but you must get a proper customer service also....not a torn luggage after you land and nobody thinks about that...
Airbus is number 1!
Yes, but you failed to give the credit to Air Deccan which is the sile reason for the rise of low cost airlines in India
IndiGo - low cost airline but same ticket prices as full service carrier. Worst seat comfort even for 1hour journeys. Passengers are treated as cattle. Monopoly or duopoly is not good in India.
yup i absolutely agree with that...i have commented about how i found my luggage bottom skin torn after i landed. it was so fcking ambarrasing with that thing hanging like a shit while you are walking all the way...
it is not low cast airline
highest ticket fare
DOH- CCJ 38000 inr
and very bad food served or no food served
IndiGo wet leased one Boeing 777 300ER from Turkish Airlines 😳🙄 Wet leased?? Why? IndiGo is short of competent staff and maintenance facilities, though currently being India's no. 1 airlines? From an openly hostile state? Really really there's something odd in this!!
dreamers
Wtf 😂
It never was never a low cost airlines...
its literally its business model what are you saying lol
Air India would have become world's number one airline had it been not nationalized by India's Socialist government in the early 1950s.
Tata Group owned it back then .
Please, for the love of God, get the pronunciation issues resolved.
It would be like me saying the dog is pronounced "derg" and just doing it over and over without concern for reality.
Sahara airlines went bust Deccan air was sold and ceased to exist Kingfisher airlines also went bust go first also went bust jet airways also went bust spice jet is barely surviving. Air India was sold after years of mismanagement by national governments. Akasa has just started but pilots are leaving droves forcing them cancel flights, star air is an insignificant airlines, alliance air only operates ATR 72 on small regional airports. Looking at the situation only IndiGo is standing tall amongst the mess.
Theu should have ordered b777s or 787s instead of 320s
Don't, just don't!
Care to explain why?
It's all about economics. They want to dominate Domestic Air Travel. Air India will dominate International Travel to and from India.
@@KanishQQuotesHe is Just a Kid Who Doesn't understand practicality and is Blinded by tgose fancy Emirates ads
Wait for dubai air show
But the need to stop this Turkish stuff with a stop in Istanbul losing lucrative business to Europe and USA. Indigo and other India based airlines must challenge Airbus and Boeing to make aircraft with 9000 miles range without additional fuel tanks ( they deduct from revenue generating seats) so that any city 8n India can be directly connected to any city in the world. That is the only way to generate high revenues. Right now most of the profits are going to Emirates, Etihad, and Turkish Airlines.
ഇപി പെട്ട ഒരു പെടല്
So basically copied South West model.
nope way different
The worst airline in India!
but ull still end up flying them when u have to lol
