A little over a year later and the carrier is 20% larger with 135 aircraft operating for the Indian flag carrier - at least at the time of making this video. Today, we examine the latest composition of the Air India fleet, changes over the past year, and what the carrier will be looking forward to in the future.

Those B777 200 , B777 300 ER are leased to temporarily replace the Legacy B777 , B787 while they are being sent for Refitting
air india should keep them in my opinion
ohh yea they willl!! They just dont have enough planes ri8 now@@Plqnes
@@PlqnesYeah That would help to expand routes since the new B787 , B777x ordered in that mega deal will take time to be delivered.
But as far as I know Most of those B777 will go for Freighter conversion after Air Indias Legacy B777 returns from Overhauling
If they are keeping em then at least refurbish them since they’re using old delta cabins
If we consider Air India Express as well, then we can see that Air India has increased its fleet significantly!
Quiet obviously Air india Express is a huge regional airline connecting domestic and international destinations from small cities
@@user-ow9dg2xj7y In India such airlines aren't called regional airlines, but they are called low cost airlines. Regional Airlines are the ones which have ATRs, Dash 8s and ERJs. IndiGo, SpiceJet can be called low cost as well as regional airline. Some example of regional airlines in India are Star Air, Fly Big, Fly91 etc.
@@user-ow9dg2xj7ywith only 47 planes😢,
Even if I'm not really interested in the topic I come for the soothing voice

Amazing transformation! 🎉
Thx for the awesome video always great content I would hope a video for egyptair comes out soon 😅😂
Ayo there's a news that Boeing's CEO is gonna resign💀, this year is full rollercoaster ride in aviation.
We want someone like William E Boeing the founder of Boeing.
All the Gulf carriers better watch out.Air India is arriving.
What are Air India's plans for adopting and rebranding Vistara's fleet after the merger next year ?
To add more destinations ofcourse. And increase frequency to current destinations.
Tata owns both air india and vistara so it doesn’t make sense to operate 2 airlines competing with each other as it’s owned by one
@@Trickyx786 Everyone knows Vistara will be defunct by next year. Air India will retain all its fleet and employees.
@@atharvzemse6599 what did I say ? Read again
I love Vistara’s livery. It looks way more premium and with class than Air India’s new livery. It will be sad to see them go.😢
Makes every Indian proud!
just so you know some of the earliest B787-8 airframes operated by the Indian full service flag carrier are being salvaged for parts in Mumbai, India . . . it's happening right now as we speak . . . furthermore an ex-Air India B747-400 is also being salvaged for essential spare parts . . . although not sure, but i think this B787-8 is the first B787-8 airframe in the world to go into dismantling & salvage . . . but please do correct me if i'm wrong . . . Air India plans to acquire an additional fleet of 26 brand new A350-900 ULR & 34 A350-1000 HGW wide body jet . . . Air India intends to operate new long haul routes . . . for e.g. Delhi (DL) - Sydney (SYD) & Mumbai (BOM) - Sao Paulo (SAO) non-stop . . . or Hyderabad (HYD) - Dublin (DUB) for that matter . . . B777-300 ER & B777-200 LR operated by Air India needs serious overhaul & complete refurbishment of the airframes inside out . . .
3-4 787s have already been scrapped so air India isn't the first to scrap the 787
@@John_.Cabell_.Breckinridge good . . . so I guess that settles it . . .
AI's 747 are -400 variants
You have forgotten Vistara's Fleet .

Can you do Cebu Pacific
This airline started during colonial times and even before many airlines were even thought of however due to years of mismanagement post nationalization ruined the airlines especially during era from 2004 to 2014. It is disheartening to see it's downward trend. Gulf based airlines, Singapore airlines milked us due to years of mismanagement. I sincerely hope that Tata will bring it's lost glory.
India genuinely needs a lot more number of aircrafts but what makes new airlines fail and led to less number of aircrafts is the fuel price in India, which is currently at 60%(not sure) maybe more
Would like this channel can talk about British Airways/Air France/Lufthansa/KLM/SAS/Iberia/Swiss/Air Canada/Qantas/Air NewZealand/Singapore Airlines/Malaysia Airlines/Thai Airways/Vietnam Airlines/Garuda Indonesia/Philippine Airlines/Etihad/Qatar/Saudia/Egyptair/Turkish Airlines/AeroMexico/Avianca/Ethiopian/South African Airways/Cathay pacific fleet in 2024😊😊😊

I would like to see Delta resume service to Hong Kong, Singapore and Beijing. I dislike having to change to other carriers in Seoul or Tokyo to arrive at those particular destinations Delta abandoned a few years ago pre pandemic.
Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines and Air China exists
Does any one know when will Air India modernise/ refurbish/ change the 787-8s flying between Europe and India, like Delhi- Frankfurt or Delhi- Paris for example? Thanks!
They’ll retire them soon so they won’t waste money on refurbishment
Currently only 4 319 in ops. And rapit phasing out
Air india should order those 370 optional planes as firm orders, with at least 80-100 wide body planes, 470 planes are very less and extremely slow for Indian market, I dia can't be an aviation hub with so less planes, an average airline in USA has 900 planes and in China 700 planes, so 400-500 planes are nothing for sir india😢, they should go for 700-800 at least.❤
Growth needs to be sustainable. Air India can't just grow massive overnight, if they do, then they will fail badly. USA and China would have way more passengers who can pay the air fare. In India, the middle class still can't afford that much, believe it or not the people who can afford air travel are busy paying rents and mortgage on properties that are reaching first world valuations. There's complete disparity between real estate prices and average incomes, along with it, these people also pay 40-50% of their income in taxes (direct and indirect). Leaves very little cash on hand for discretionary spending.
Hence the spending power of the consumer also needs to be taken into account before going for investing in expansion. If they grow too big and can't fill in the seats because the consumer can't afford it, then they will run into losses and go bankrupt.
@@naveenvenkateshk come on don't be naive, they are buying these planes over 8-10 years, and many are replacement orders, they know better how to run the airlines compared to keyboard warriors here, moreover us and Chinese each major airlines have more than 600-700 planes each.and taxes are given everywhere, my brother gives one third of his income as direct tax, do stop crying, we are much better than mist of other countries, and if you want to compare with some Europeans, consider their population too
Unfortunately Air India is facing severe penalties and fines by government bureaucrats whose privileges to free upgrade, contracts have suddenly seen a huge cut by the new Air India Management. My sources tell me that Mr Modi has been made aware of civil aviation ministry officials who still treat Air India as their play field and still make indirect requests for special treatment for themselves and their family members. Recently one DGCA officer got very angry and fined Air India when his family that was traveling to Europe for vacation was not upgraded and was not given access to the Air India lounge.
Modi has Ntg to do with the airline they have there own plane 2 777-300er if you have any evidence show me your sources
Recent air india I'd getting penalised by Dgca frequently..I wonder when it was completelyowned by government.. was it following all the norms?During that time hardly we had come across news of such fines.

can anyone tell me why air india is not painting its new livery for narrow bodies?
New Planes on order main reason
And u give them the rest money they will repaint 😂
@@nandhanthala7716 i am talking about new planes that got deliverd in past months
@@rishabmanan1782 they are the orders made before the tata takeover of airindia
@@panchamparasar oh so real 470plane orders are yet to deliver expect the 6-A350s
@@rishabmanan1782 737 max will join the fleet soon from the new orders. Airbus planes from new orders will start coming from next year. So in total 40-50 B737s from new orders and 15-20 A320 from older order should be in fleet by December 2024.
The most basic of questions. How do pilots keep the center wheel on the yellow strip while moving?
Wheel camera
If you look on the A350 bottom cam, they arent perfect. Different pilots use different techniques. But most align the yellow line with a cockpit instrument.
Make sure you choose Boeing.
Vistara is the best Indian airline.
There has not been much improvement in Air India service even after acquisition by Tatas. On a trip from BLR to SFO (Non-stop, direct), the bathrooms were dirty/filthy, food was ok and the service was fair. You cannot have an 18 hour flight where there are no clean bathrooms. Smell from the bathroom, reeked the whole plane, It was stated that Air India was going to compete with middle eastern countries (Emirates, Qatar, etc.). At this rate, Emirates, Qatar air, etc., have nothing to fear.
I can understand things do not move quickly in aviation inductry but the hype created by Air India is fading away. How many days people would like to hear new planes are coming? Seat upgrade should have been started for B787s by now. But nothing happened.
Seat upgrade isn't like u drink butter milk the manufacturer has to manufacture test and ready the seats so that our aircraft could just fly and make over soon rather spending days on ground for the arrival of seats 😅
Definitely Air India is going to improve in the near future, looking forward to their long haul flights from India to USA,Europe and Australia
All i am praying is that the 787's will be fitted with the new seats as i am going to be travelling on there 787-8 In october from DEL-NRT Then NRT-DEL. According to reviews the 787's Interior isnt good and is broken at certain places..And i would not like to experience that on my first international flight.
787 refurbishment starting in July, your chances are slim

This is the fallacy of air India that buying the a350 is somehow going to save them they have always had modern fleets..service on time performance and quality cannot be fixed..by fleets..I will always fly Asianas a350 jfk Seoul-Delhi service over air India direct any day they are atrocious and cabins stink
They don’t fly the 350 to india but the old 330 with old interiors
