Times have changed a lot since 2014. Amtrak 145 is now an NEC Pool unit, which means it won’t likely ever come back to California again. It’s horn is not as good as it used to be too…
Why is that on 145, and 822 that there is a black area on top of the stripes? It's not like Amtraks past will come back and Sue them for putting the original paint on the Locomotives.
@Harrison La time traveler I agree. #184 wears the scheme 121-123 were painted in upon delivery. For #66/130 & #156, they didn't have historic liveries for them, but we're based upon historical photos. For #145/822, they used Phase III 2, used on Viewliner IIs and P32s. The original Phase III on the Genesis was unique and deserves to be preserved.

I've travelled on Amtrak train (even former private RR Company before Amtrak merged) for 50 years. So, I go once (sometime twice) a year in any part of USA as I love it and no matter if on time or delays. Train travel is a blast and amazing trips.
I was at Carlsbad Village filming 145/6900 on Monomial Day with a couple of my friends. You could have came to Carlsbad Village and said hi :) I also chased it to Washington Street, we were gonna stop by Sorrento Valley, but we found out we can't make it because we met the train when we were on the 5 at Sorrento Valley.
Opening scene is a San Diego bound Pacific Surfliner, followed by another San Diego bound Pacific Surfliner, then next is an Oceanside bound Metroline train, then a Los Angeles bound Pacific Surfliner.

145 crashed into a truck and got damaged, it will be repaired after the crash.
Good news 145 is back in service! It was spotted yesterday 3/17/19
145 has a different horn then in this video and I remember because I caught it leading Amtrak 42. The Pennsylvanian, which is in one of my shorts
Sadly, the crossing 2:17 is an overpass now. You could get some nice high-speed shots right there.
