Why do we love turtles so much
for the blue heron problem, u can put 1 line of fishing line around the edges of the pond because they refuse to land directly into the water - u wont be able to do it around the duck pond though also they don't get stuck in the fishing line but its clear so its like ''an invisible barrier'' and it needs to be about 1ft high. Like this so Paul can see!!
I find it funny how kevin is wild and could leave at anytime but chooses to be a pet🤣
You should name them “Donald” and “Daisy” like the duck couple from Mickey Mouse Club House. Great video can’t wait for the next one!

“Accidentally” trap the blue heron
If you touch a heron you can get in allot of trouble and if you relocate it you could be interfering with the breeding of this bird.
@@herptown868 it needs interfered into the dirt, no good birds are protected and the poor fish we pay for get clapped by the stupid bird. They deserve a bullet just like the coyotes if you ask me. Southern justice reigns supreme haha
I don't think they deserve to die just for being birds all they do live their lives just like you and me.
@@herptown868 yeah but i dont go out daily and kill a bunch of things people buy and love and cherish. You cant compare a human like to a bird, we were gifted certain rights. We were given all animals as ours to have as meat for us to consume, thats scripture. Man has played god and just messed things up with the introduction of coyotes to areas where they become the ultimate survivalist and adapted to all conditions and even went as far as changing their diet completely and now they stretch completely across the US. Now they are wanting to reintroduce the wolf in several different locations, we killed them off for a reason! I dont think there should be a law so strong against killing an animal that it becomes priority of family property and pets, if its a nuisance its a nuisance and needs removed.
@Gavin Simpson not sure if the laws are same but in Ohio it is illegal to relocate wildlife BECAUSE they can transfer diseases from one area to a new area that isn’t already infected

yes that is good, I know it sounds weird, but nerf gunds or airsoft guns will not hurt the bird, but will certainly give the bird a scare. Hope this helps!

I am happy you’re planning to improve the pig’s inclosure especially on where they are feeding and improve the shelter also, it should be close, very useful and practical during rainy days and winter so they will feel warm, please include the hogs, goats, ducks, chicken and turkeys and just a suggestion, please add more food for each of them, they need more 🐷

Paul, I’ve been watching your channel for years and have a degree in animal science and have had experience with cattle, I think miniature highland cattle would be perfect for your property, and if ur looking to get a bit more exotic u could add a zebu to your collection

For your turtles, I know you said nets aren't working, but if you make an anti-mosquito style netting enclosure around your entire patio, you can still get that sunlight and freedom for the turtles. Treat it as a room, with netted walls, and ceiling.

What about adding a wooden pallet with a peice of plywood ontop so the pigs an eat off that instead of the ground

Paul i don't know if you are going to see this but try putting a mannequin. Its will keep the heron away. Same like a scare crow keeps the crows away.

💡Re 8:04 Heron problem. You could get a big decoy Owl and post it up on your roof,may deter the Heron. If it doesnt work, then return it back to Publix, Walmart or wherever you bought it from or sell it in the classified.
Paul! Get a few plastic herons and stake them in the ground around each of your ponds and you will be good. They are Territorial birds and wont come if they can spot another feeding close by.

We had a problem with a Blue Heron and our koi pond. Strung up fishing line about 8 feet above the pond. Never had another problem since.

Hey Paul. Maybe check it out a small micro brewery near your palace and ask them if they can give you their used grains and feed them with those grains... it will save you on food. Your pigs, ducks, goats, and wild pigs will love that used and bit sweet grains!

If you get a finer netting for your ponds that will probably solve your blue heron issue. I had a heron coming to my house and it got one of my nicest orandas from my pool pond, then I went to Joans fabric and I got this really fine netting and no more fish got eaten and the heron even stopped coming by

You should invest in some aviary fencing or a fence/screen around the pool area, like screened porch sort of thing. You would probably enjoy sitting out there more and the animals would be protected from predators

Try concrete troughs for the pig food. That’s what we always used here in New Zealand :-)
