@@mohamedatef6039 I read your comment, but sadly despite telling the other brother to give you references from Quran and Sunnah you do not, in any of your comments, provide reference from the Quran or the Sunnah, but instead cite non-islamic sources and European & Roman historical events. Concubinage is a part of our religion. But your vitriol against the brother for asking a question and assuming the worst in him by saying "not some of your personal feelings" is very telling. The other brother cited the general rule on being good to the slave. His argument could be supported by saying if you are not allowed to beat a slave without the expiation of that being to free him/her as per an authentic hadith:
Ibn Umar reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever strikes his slave-boy sharply without right, or punches him, the expiation for the sin is to emancipate him.” - Muslim 1657
As well as the haidth of Abu Masood - Muslim, 1659
Since Quran and Sunnah are clear on the permissibility of intercourse with a slave obtained via lawful means (war). But if a slave is disobedient in this matter or another any matter, without giving any reason, then what is the fiqh ruling on the possible rightful response? For this matter there could be five possibilities: 1.) Nothing 2.) He can (or should) sell her 3.) He can beat her as punishment 4.) Refuse to give her provision until she does, or 5.) Force himself on her. Which of these is he allowed to respond with?
Let know of the answer with reference from Quran and Sunnah or a book of Fiqh.

You know only Allah can bring something good from something we perceive as bad. All these brothers had their individual channels doing Dawah physically in the park but COVID pushed them all to go online and form these panels where they are now inviting and challenging different concepts and ideologies and attacking each of these concepts specifically through having different specialists in the panel. This is such a beautiful outcome. I believe these videos will be rewatched for decades to come like those old Ahmed Deedat videos from the 1980s. مَا شَاءَ ٱللّٰهْ

The Debate with Rob was the Highlight. Daniel caught his underlying assumption that there's no compulsion whatsoever. Sharif then just drilled Rob's 24/7 Argument w.r.t the UK laws( Where rob resides), Rob is now trapped which he himself set and Daniel just put the cherry on the cake with the interpretation of 9:29 and demonstrating that even if for Arguments sake, we take Rob's underlying presuppositions, 2:256 and 9:29 still doesn't contradict each other. That is what you call 'pure demolition'. Great Job to Brothers Daniel and Sharif. Just brilliant.

If you know about child psychology, the age from the toddler years(0+) upto post-teen(18) is THE MOST Productive years when a human worldview/Paradigm is shaped. This is literally the indoctrination period of a human. Yes, indoctrination is inevitable, be it a liberal indoctrination or a religious indoctrination. To Argue that school curriculum is innocous to a person's development and shaping of a certain worldview/paradigm is analogous to saying that keeping a person in concentration camp the whole day and leaving them 'free' at night is innocuous. Compulsion in religion is still forbidden albeit the Jizya/Tax stuff. Moreover, the very fact that your own worldview enacts compulsion shows your hypocrisy. But I don't know why I'm still stuck, not growing up to be more responsible, things are fading away but I must cling on until I'm completely broken, I can see that but can't help as I can't accept I could be wrong. The beautiful thing about Islam is that it has the answer for any plight a man may encounter. A true human manuel would HAVE to deal with war and the uglier side of the human condition. Islam almost aways suggest to not go to war, not to fight, set up treaties with others, seek for peace but we live a world were that cannot always happen and therefore there are rules on how to deal with issues when other human beings transgress the bounds which makes Islam unlike any other ism, religion or system.

One cannot physically and mentally abuse/torture concubines.
Props to br. Daniel for pointing out the goofiness of modern liberal notion of consent, which even they admit is a turn off, asking for a verbal yes at every step. Real humans do it with body language and foreplay.
    The Prophet on foreplay-
the Prophet pbuh said “One of you should not fulfil one’s sexual need from one’s wife like an animal, rather there should be between them foreplay of kissing and words.” The Prophet goes on to say, “Three people are cruel: …a person who has sex with his wife before foreplay.”

so when Genghis Khan and his armies ravaged through muslim lands they didn't rape and enslave? You're delusional if you think so. Also the Quran does not allow an unlimited harem of sex slaves/concubines. Read Quran 2:221, 4:25, 24:1-3, 24:32-33, 60:10-12, which makes it clear that concubinage is prohibited in Islam and that the only permissible relations with formerly slave men/women is through marriage with the additional conditional that they have to be believers.

The verse 9:29 is a command to fight the Byzantine Romans and other hostile powers who were planning an invasion against the Muslims in Arabia. In context, it is a distinct response to aggression, in particular the assassination of one of the Prophet’s ambassadors. On the surface, this appears to be an open-ended command to fight non-Muslims until they are conquered. However, a fundamental principle of Quranic exegesis (tafseer) is that the verses must be understood in the context in which they were revealed (asbab an-nuzul) and in conjunction with other verses delineating the rules of warfare. At-Tabari and other commentators record that this verse was revealed concerning the expedition of Tabuk. At-Tabari records: Mujahid reported concerning the verse, “Fight those who do not believe in Allah and the Last Day…” that it was revealed when Muhammad and his companions were commanded with the expedition of Tabuk. Source: Tafseer At-Tabari 9:29 The expedition of Tabuk was preceded by the battle of Mu’tah which began when the emissary of the Prophet was assassinated while delivering a letter to a Roman ally.
Ibn Al-Qayyim writes: The cause of the battle was that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, sent Harith ibn Umair Al-Azdi of the tribe of Lihb with his letter to Syria for the Roman king or Busra. He presented it to Sharhabeel ibn Amr Al-Ghassani and he bound him and struck his neck. Never had an ambassador of the Messenger of Allah been killed besides him. The Prophet was upset by that when news reached him and he dispatched an expedition. Source: Zaad Al-Ma’ad 336
Safiur Rahman writes: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, had sent Al-Harith ibn Umair Al-Azdi on an errand to carry a letter to the ruler of Busra. On his way, he was intercepted by Sharhabeel ibn Amr Al-Ghassani, the governor of Al-Balqa and a close ally to Caesar, the Byzantine Emperor. Al-Harith was tied and beheaded by Al-Ghassani. Source: The Sealed Nectar p. 245
This was the first act of Roman aggression that further led to the expedition of Tabuk concerning which the verse 9:29 was revealed. The verse describes the aggressors as those “who do not believe in Allah and the Last Day,” because they committed this act of treachery. Executing emissaries from other countries is a war crime that could never be committed by those who sincerely believe in God. Anas ibn Malik reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: There is no faith for one who cannot be trusted. There is no religion for one who cannot uphold a covenant. Source: Musnad Ahmad 11975, Grade: Hasan
Safiur Rahman further describes the reason the conflict took place: The Byzantine power, which was considered the greatest military force on earth at that time, showed an unjustifiable opposition towards Muslims. As we have already mentioned, their opposition started at killing the ambassador of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, Al-Harith ibn Umair Al-Azdi, by Sharhabeel ibn Amr Al-Ghassani. The ambassador was then carrying a message from the Prophet to the ruler of Busra. We have also stated that the Prophet consequently dispatched a brigade under the command of Zaid bin Haritha, who had a fierce fight against the Byzantines at Mu’tah. Although Muslim forces could not have revenge on those haughty overproud tyrants, the confrontation itself had a great impression on the Arabs all over Arabia.
Caesar, who could neither ignore the great benefit that the battle of Mu’tah had brought to Muslims, nor could he disregard the Arab tribes’ expectations of independence and their hopes of getting free from his influence and reign, nor he could ignore their alliance to the Muslims. Realizing all that, Caesar was aware of the progressive danger threatening his borders, especially the fronts of Syria which were neighboring Arab lands. So he concluded that demolition of the Muslims’ power had grown an urgent necessity. This decision of his should, in his opinion, be achieved before the Muslims become too powerful to conquer and raise troubles and unrest in the adjacent Arab territories.
To meet these exigencies, Caesar mustered a huge army of the Byzantines and pro-Roman Ghassanite tribes to launch a decisive bloody battle against the Muslims.

Abu Dharr narrated that the Messenger of Allah said :
"Allah has made some of your brothers as slaves under your care. So whoever has his brother under his care, then let him feed him from his food, and let him clothe him from his clothes. And do not give him a duty that he cannot bear, and if you give him a duty he cannot bear, then assist him with it."
I hate how Daniel turns defensive when it comes to women in any context at all. I know he hates the modern twisted narratives by the feminists and liberals but denying what is actually in our tradition is pushing it. Look up what happens to the women POWs when they become mothers. ( spoilers she's no longer a slave) I know that is br Daniel's explanation but that's just one aspect which may or may not be true and many scholars of the past disagree with this. Explain why they practiced "coitus interruptus" with these women and asked the Prophet ﷺ about it's permissibility.
I dislike the word concubines because of the weird picture it brings to mind (cuz of movies) of some perverted king with half naked women around him.
That is not Islam to be very clear. They were assigned to the believers to absorb them into muslim society. And only *one* believer could be intimate with her and he would be known. Many slaves accepted Islam after they saw the good treatment from the Muslims as opposed to other nations.

There will always be slavery even today human trafficking, the prison system, etc. I think people think prohibiting something or "abolishing" it ends the issue, but we fail to see that when you make something illegal you create a black market. That's why Islam has rules and strong punishments for violating those limits to really deter those elements from continuing. It won't fully stop all but will definitely limit its reach and presence.

Dear brothers, I have an important comment to make, and I hope you find the time to read it.
When it comes to war in Islam, it is very pragmatic, and the main principle is, Reciprocity
now when it comes to slaves and concubines, you are discussing the sharia law way back in time, before the emergence of the current regulation that meet the development in the world.
Before the age of strong central states, where the state can house prisoners of war, all what you have said was right. ( with some additional notes I will add below)
However, now all agree, that the current UN agreed laws on treatment of prisoners of war is 100% sharia compatible and agreed upon.
In wars fought between Arabs and Israel, India and Pakistan, UN laws were followed. No more slaves or concubines.
Now back to the main issue, you really missed a lot of rights that Sharia gives to Slaves and this list applies to both men and women.
    • They have to eat the same food you eat, and dress from the same cloth you dress.
    • They have to live in the same standard of living that you do.
    • You cant call them ‘my slave’
    • They have the right to be set free if they asked by a contract that states how much they will pay for getting their freedom back. Actually it is encouraged to do so. بيت مال المسلمين - aka House of money. i.e. Ministry of Finance for Muslims, must aid in this contract if the slave could not do it on his own.
    • If they asked to get married, they are allowed, بيت مال المسلمين again, helps in the cost of marriage if they can not afford it.
    • You are asked to educate them if they are wise and capable of learning.
    • If a concubines gives birth, she and her child are free.
    • You cant force a religion on them.
    • You can't ask them to do a work more than what they can handle.
    • If the war is over. Use them for prisoner exchange or set them free as a favor ! . 47:4( فَإِمَّا مَنًّا بَعْدُ وَإِمَّا فِدَاءً)
Since I am not sure if you will read this, I will stop here.

These clowns couldn't answer the Malaysian guy's simple questions, instead they tried to shift the field and attack his beliefs instead, but I liked the questioner, he was firm, and always went back to his question. When he finally pissed off Hamza, he labelled him as a christian and kicked him out. Utter childish behaviour synonyms to a child losing an argument and throwing a temper tantrum.
But you know what? Overall this was an important moment for these clowns. I like that Daniel was invited to this podcast because he doesn't sugar-coat anything, and he's more educated than every other panelist present... He basically destroyed the narrative that Hamza has been advocating against for so long, that there is no sex slavery in Islam. Contrary to popular delusion, sex slavery is very common in Islam, and in fact its regulated. In pre-Islamic Arabia, slavery was just locally run with most tribes having their own set of rules, and many tribes actually abstaining from it all together. But with the emergence of Islam, Mashallah it became a legal right through its regularization via the Quran and Sunnah. Every one had the right to have a concubine (If you're male), and a slave of any other sense. And no, there is no concept of consent in pre-Islamic Arabia, and the reason why the Quran doesn't address consent is because Arab morality hadn't evolved enough to consider that consent of a slave. That was just not a thing.
Using movies like P.O.W. Captives, or the atrocities of WW2, WW1 against women and children to justify Islamic slavery is just quite literally shooting yourself on the foot and show-casing your delusional hypocrisy. Because you AGREE that slavery, and sexual slavery is wrong in every case, and especially in modern times when our morality is so much better than pre-islamic and even early islamic Arabia. But what did the Quran do? instead of making it prohibited, it regulated it and made it quite literally legal.
You also mentioned that you can sign treaties and whatnot to say you won't take war captives, which means you AGREE that there is a way to prevent war captives from being taken right? There exists a possible solution and that means war captives are not something that just can't be stopped because it was so common..... so if you agree to that then why didn't the Quran and Sunnah utilize this method? why not sign a treaty with humanity saying no we won't kidnap captives, rape women and children and men under our 'possession' Why? because their morality was primitive, to them it was a common practice. Islamic morality was just morality of that time, and not an example for all humanity to come because it's already failed us. It's very unfortunately to be honest. I wish Islam was better.
Before all the white-knights jump to say I misunderstand Islam, I have a Bachelor's of Hadith and Islamic Sciences from Madina University. A masters in religious theology and a phd in biochemistry. SO no I am not uneducated, but you might know something I don't know, so please feel free to discuss this with me in a respectful and academic manner.

The context of war in the premodern era as understood by all, the winner will take all. That includes the defeated army's men women and children coupled with the material resources. They will be distributed among the winners as slaves. Those people will become the property straightaway. Hence, whether they have the right to be consented if they wanted to become slaves or not, is just waste of time. Secondly, the verse in question addressed the permissible sex for the Muslim men, particularly in premodern era, which was limited to wives and slave females. The questioner asked whether the slave females were consented before sex? The answer is, in those days if the wives were consented before sex, the slave females would have been treated the same.

For surly among humans are those who are ingrates to their creator.
The sun, rain, snow, wind, time, heat, cold, the seasons the meat of animals and plants sea creatures etc... are all from our creator yet humans are ingrates. Have they not reflect on what they have seen and experienced. Let us not overlook the gifts and favoŕs that our creator gave us for surely among humans are those who are ingrates.

Just a thought I had on what existential naturalist was saying. When we go to sleep we’re unconscious, and consciousness still continues in the form of dreams. And sleep and death are related in the Quran. I don’t know what it means but I’m sure the Quran explains it

Daniel compares a captive having to consent to a man having sex with her, as the same as to the Vietnamese people consenting to getting bombed.
But if he were asked if he condemns the act of the Vietnamese people being bombed, no doubt the answer would be yes. What an extraordinary way to try and defend his premise.
