My grandparents in Texas lived in the country and I remember my grandmother used to bury the glass medicine bottles in a section of the yard. I've seen baskets like those, they are picnic baskets, they would have some utensils and napkins as a set. I wish we were neighbors, that looks like so much fun thrifting and looking at the old stuff. I am over 60 and recognize a lot from that old barn.

Looking forward to you painting the bag, interested in what colour you chose. I took shorthand in high school along with typing I and II and business math.
The rough looking dresser, I would turn into a bathroom vanity, or redo it and use it for it’s purpose.
My daughter had that type of child’s chair/ step stool.
I think the lid was on backwards as well on the basket.
I also, think that’s a cute idea, hopefully you bought those two pieces and show us on your tutorial vlog.
It’s a shame the bees were preventing you from getting the banister! Would be interested in seeing what you do with it.
Love the story of the barn, shame you can no longer go in there! I wholeheartedly agree with you about not taking care of things, if you take the time to redo the items they will last longer than the things you buy nowadays! Things were made to last back then, plus they took pride in their things.

I collect Ironstone n I bet I’d find some cool pieces there. I like all the goodies you found. The plates are cool. The basket you got at Goodwill is not backwards. The lid is on correctly. The square like holes was the opening n most likely had leather straps that flipped down to another piece n had a little brass like piece that turned to lock it. Don’t change it. Put ribbon on them n you can tie it closed. Hope that helps. I’m really excited to see how you do that blue n red bag. Will keep my eye out for the video when it comes out.
